The mouth of the Hungarian Horntail was wide open and quite intimidating.
Accompanied by its roar, a wave of enthusiastic cheers arose around the field.
Among them were voices cheering for Harry, as well as urging Harry to get going and not dawdle.
Harry took a step forward, not eager to grab the Golden Egg and complete the first task, but rather studying the Hungarian Horntail.
One could say, this Fire Dragon was very strong, clearly much more robust than the dragons Victor and Fleur faced before.
The Fire Dragon stood with its back to the sun, the sunlight outlining a breathtaking silhouette.
"The Hungarian Horntail, known to be the most dangerous of all dragons, their bodies covered with black scales, resembling a lizard."
Mr. Bagman briefly introduced the Hungarian Horntail from the podium: "As you can see, it has yellow eyes, bronze horns, and a long tail studded with bronze-colored spikes — the Horntail is one of the dragons that can breathe fire the farthest, recorded to reach even fifty feet... What I'm saying is, our warrior from Hogwarts, he's got trouble."
Seemingly to agree with Mr. Bagman's words, the Hungarian Horntail placed one of its claws on the jagged rocks and roared skyward.
"Harry's in danger," Seamus said gravely, "Even those dark wizards wouldn't dare face an enraged Hungarian Horntail alone..."
"I think it's better if you trust Harry," Hermione closed the book on her lap, pushing the black-framed glasses on her nose, "It's just a dragon, I don't think Harry can't handle it."
The glasses were a gift from Vivi, said to be an alchemy item, capable of blocking one targeted evil curse a day.
Something like the Lincoln Magic Ball.
Harry slowly stepped forward, while the Hungarian Horntail watched him closely, ready for anything.
Even though it didn't pay much attention to this small figure, under it lay a clutch of Dragon Eggs, making it necessary to be cautious.
The audience held their breath; they didn't understand why Harry was so leisurely, not even rushing to take the Dragon Egg.
Do you think you can deceive the dragon's eyes like this and take the Dragon Egg right under its nose?
Just as Harry closed to within about thirty yards of the dragon, the Hungarian Horntail suddenly took a deep breath.
"Depulso (Expel)!"
Harry's magic spell was swift, hitting the Hungarian Horntail on the chin.
The spell made the Fire Dragon jerk back, shooting its stored-up flames into the sky.
"Beautiful!" Mr. Bagman praised loudly: "The force of the spell was perfect, pushing its head aside before it could breathe fire, avoiding the dragon's breath — a clever choice."
The Hungarian Horntail, struck by the spell, roared again, spreading its dragon wings and lunging at Harry.
However, just as it moved, a massive stone came crashing down on its head.
Even a dragon the size of the Hungarian Horntail couldn't easily withstand such a large stone hitting its head.
Its massive body halted abruptly, wailing in agony.
"Wow, what kind of magic is this? I've never seen it before," Mr. Bagman was extremely excited — having bet on Harry to win, "Look, oh my Merlin, he's making a different choice than the previous two warriors, opting to defeat the dragon head-on!"
"Keep in mind, even adult wizards almost can't single-handedly defeat a dragon in a one-on-one duel, but I think everyone is witnessing now, this warrior from Hogwarts — Harry Potter, he's about to make history, defeating an adult dragon in his fourth year!"
With Mr. Bagman's commentary, the audience erupted in enthusiastic cheers.
"Well done! Harry!" Ron stood up, applauding loudly, "Smash its butt with the stone! Oh, damn that dragon!"
"Harry! Stay sharp!" Neville cheered excitedly at the side.
Harry couldn't hear the cheers of his friends, but he could clearly hear the wails of the Hungarian Horntail.
He didn't stop just because the dragon was wailing, continuing to use the energy of Ancient Magic to harness the scattered stones on the field, hurling them at the Horntail.
The Hungarian Horntail refused to accept being suppressed by Harry, seizing a gap to bear the pain and rapidly soar into the sky, then rushing toward Harry.
What it didn't expect was suddenly feeling as though it couldn't control its body.
A collective gasp swept through the audience.
In the eyes of the audience, the dragon seemed to be yanked by its tail, slamming down onto the ground.
With the swish of Harry's Magic Wand, the dragon was violently slammed left and right against the ground.
"Roar!"
After all, it was a dragon; its life force far stronger than a human's.
If it were a normal person, they'd likely have lost their life after being thrown so many times, but the Hungarian Horntail could still struggle to its feet.
Truly living up to its reputation as the most violently tempered of all dragon breeds, its ferocity matching the name.
Even with its body covered in wounds, blood gushing like a spring, and white bones jutting out, the dragon still fearlessly charged at Harry.
