Chapter 529 - Chapter 205: Regulus Black (8,000 Words)_2

Don't be fooled by Pabi being in Hufflepuff, her fondness for Snape is entirely negative.

Because Snape has a prejudice against Hufflepuff.

Of course, Pabi is mistaken about Snape, because Snape has a bias against every house except Slytherin, not just Hufflepuff.

Even if it was targeted, Hufflepuff wouldn't be the one to speak out; everyone at Hogwarts knows, Snape is equally against every Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are just collateral damage.

Upon hearing Pabi's address, Little Sirius became increasingly satisfied with this daughter-in-law.

Even if James came back to life, he might also be pleased with this Hufflepuff girl, right?

He knows that this girl just had a mishap practicing Animagus and will recover in a while, not hindering her from dating Harry.

"Okay, let's go now," Little Sirius said to Pabi.

They walked out of Regulus's room, heading downstairs along the stairs.

Everyone was already in Kreacher's room, and when they saw Little Sirius walk in, Snape gave a sinister smile.

"Look, the master of the house-elf has arrived..."

These words weren't entirely inaccurate, considering Little Sirius's Animagus form is indeed a dog.

If he's bitten in vengeance, he's a wolf; if he's angrily barking, he's a dog.

"Old Snot Spirit!" Little Sirius pointed at Snape's nose, speechless.

He recalled Cassandra's highly damaging words.

"Stop going off-topic!" Little Sirius finally blurted out after a while, "Speak up, how is Kreacher now!"

"That's why we waited for you to come here since Kreacher's current master is you," Dumbledore shook his head and said, "But his mental state is quite good, he could take a bit of Truth Serum, what do you think?"

"Kreacher doesn't need to take Truth Serum," Kreacher said, pounding his head, "Kreacher doesn't want to betray his beloved Master Regulus..."

Saying so, he attempted to crash into the wall.

"Wait—"

Harry stopped Regulus's actions and said to Dumbledore, "How about this, I remember he most respects Mrs. Blake. Maybe... perhaps she could command him to tell the truth? Better than directly feeding him a dose of Truth Serum, right?"

He's not having unnecessary pity, just thinking that the godfather is getting older and it's not good to be without a house-elf to care for him.

"Can you persuade my mom?" Little Sirius looked at Harry skeptically.

"I believe Mrs. Blake is easy to talk to, she's very amiable," Harry shrugged and said.

Little Sirius wore a face that said 'are you joking with me.'

My mom?

Easy to talk to?

Amiable?

He lifted his head and glanced at the calendar hanging at the side.

"What's wrong with you?" Dumbledore asked with concern.

"I'm checking if today is April Fool's Day." Little Sirius rubbed his head and said, "Sorry, I really can't associate the adjectives amiable and easy to talk to with my mom—"

Harry didn't say much, just walked out and spoke to the portrait of Mrs. Blake hanging nearby, "Hello, Mrs. Blake—could you command Kreacher to reveal the truth about Regulus? I think we have to find him after all... even if he's really gone..."

Walburga didn't hesitate, and loudly commanded, "I allowed it! Kreacher! You must tell Harry Potter everything completely! That's my command! It's an order from me!"

Harry wasn't sure if it was an illusion, but he felt Walburga's words 'this is my command' had a German flavor to it.

Harry withdrew his head, glanced at Vivi standing behind him, and asked in a low voice, "How do you say 'this is my command' in German?"

"Das war ein Befehl!" Vivi answered softly.

It fit.

Harry turned back to Kreacher and said, "Kreacher—you heard, right? Your mistress commands you to tell all you know about Regulus—without any concealment, understand?"

Finally, Harry felt it wasn't enough, so he added again, "This is your mistress's command!"

Seeing Kreacher still in a daze, Harry added one more sentence, "Only by telling the truth can we save Regulus—maybe he's trapped somewhere, right? Kreacher?"

Upon hearing this, Kreacher finally reacted.

His bat-like large ears drooped down, tears poured out from his hollow eye sockets.

After a while, his bullfrog-like croaking voice sounded.

"Master Regulus's Pendant Box, Kreacher made a mistake, Kreacher failed to execute the master's order!" He cried, "That Pendant Box—it should be some kind of treasure, at least that's how the master described it to Kreacher..."

"That Pendant Box, is it Slytherin's Pendant Box?" Snape suddenly asked.

Seeing everyone's puzzled expressions turning to him, Snape half-closed his eyes and said, "Back then, I heard about this thing—about Slytherin's Pendant Box, Voldemort let his confidants hide several of his treasures separately, I only know this Slytherin's Pendant Box, there's also something in the hands of that madwoman Bellatrix Lestrange."

What Snape referred to as 'back then' were his undercover days among the Death Eaters.

"It should be," Kreacher said sharply, "But Kreacher doesn't know what that thing really is, my poor Master Regulus..."
