Chapter 354 - Chapter 163: Vivi’s Fury

After all, being a fourth-year student, locking up a second-year student is like playing a game.

However, what Harry didn't expect was that Vivi's grades were a pile of O's, along with one particularly conspicuous "T".

This "T" isn't any other grade; it's precisely Muggle Studies.

In Hogwarts, the professor for Muggle Studies is Carey Di Bubaji, a glasses-wearing, academically inclined professor.

Vivi held the report card and couldn't accept this fact for quite some time.

In fact, if she got a "T" in other subjects, Vivi could accept it—after all, she rarely attended classes, getting a "T" was deserved.

But Muggle Studies... She really can't accept it because she's been completely immersed in the Muggle World recently.

Besides, after this term ends, she will receive her bachelor's degree... saying she doesn't understand Muggles, Vivi feels she really can't accept it.

In the Muggle Studies office, Vivi sat opposite Professor Bubaji, staring at her unwaveringly.

"I need an explanation, Professor Bubaji!"

Before Professor Bubaji could say anything, Professor Dumbledore appeared in the office.

Seeing that the office was intact and Professor Bubaji wasn't hurt, Dumbledore secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Then he felt a bit of reproach.

My goodness, Carey, why did you provoke her?

If it were any other subject, it would be fine, but Miss Grindelwald grew up in the Muggle World and spent this semester intensively learning Muggle knowledge. Saying she's inadequate in Muggle Studies is deliberately looking for trouble, isn't it?

"Carey." Professor Dumbledore quickly said before Professor Carey Di Bubaji could speak, "As far as I know, Miss Grindelwald has been studying in the Muggle World recently. If she doesn't understand Muggles, I can't think of anyone who understands them better."

"But her answers are full of errors, Albus." Professor Bubaji insisted, "I don't think such answers deserve an 'O'."

"Sometimes being too focused on standard answers isn't a good thing, Carey." Dumbledore sighed, "I know you also love Muggles and have always taken eliminating racial discrimination as your mission, but you shouldn't discriminate against Miss Grindelwald because of her surname."

Vivi was taken aback.

She didn't know Professor Bubaji could be that kind of person.

But...

Discriminating against Muggles is something my brother does, how does it concern me?

I haven't used the Avada Kedavra on Muggles indiscriminately; at most, I've just made those who bother me suffer an early heart attack, or stroke, or paralysis...

Essentially, I'm still a gentle and amiable witch, right?

"I haven't, Albus."

Professor Bubaji sighed and took out Vivi's exam paper, handing it to Dumbledore.

She wanted to use actual evidence to prove that her "T" was not an error.

Dumbledore took the exam paper and carefully looked through it.

Honestly, Vivi's answers were flawless, but he also somewhat disagreed... For instance, the claim that Muggle technology already threatens the survival of wizards.

A bit alarmist, he thought.

Dumbledore knew Professor Bubaji well; she opposed racial discrimination between pure-blood wizards and Muggle-born wizards. She was kind and respected others.

But...

"I don't think Muggles threaten the survival of wizards," Professor Bubaji said, pressing her hands on the desk, "I think that erasing Muggles' memories at will is disrespectful to Muggles..."

Vivi didn't directly answer Professor Bubaji's words, but instead, responded with an argument favorable to her.

"So you oppose the Wizarding Secrecy Law?" She looked sharply at Professor Bubaji.

Professor Bubaji suddenly felt choked.

This remark was quite incisive as Vivi seized her loophole, inserted her words into a pipe, and blocked both ends.

If she insists that erasing Muggles' memories at will is disrespectful and should be reduced, that would be tantamount to opposing the Wizarding Secrecy Law.

She couldn't bear such a title, because the last person who wanted to break the Wizarding Secrecy Law was named Gellert Grindelwald.

He is still locked up in Nimongard.

If she denies wanting to break the Wizarding Secrecy Law, she'd contradict herself as her theory wouldn't hold at all.

"My guess wasn't wrong, was it, Professor Bubaji?" Vivi looked sharply at Professor Bubaji as if she was about to see through her, "That's why you've defended Muggles relentlessly... I can't tell what perspective you're considering the issues from, but Muggles' acceptance of us wizards isn't very high, either. The human torch of the Middle Ages is still vivid in memory; I don't think Muggles, like you, would entirely spend their days in love and peace with wizards."

"But those identified as witches were generally falsely accused," Professor Bubaji tried to make her theory stand, "In reality, they wanted to encroach upon others' property, not burn witches."

"But they utilized Muggles' hatred toward wizards and witches, didn't they?" Vivi crossed her arms, and smiled politely.

Professor Bubaji was once again cornered by Vivi.

"I believe protecting Muggles' legal rights is definitely not wrong, Professor Bubaji," Vivi said gently, "But I hope you recognize the fact that you are a witch, which is the premise for all your assertions. I don't think undermining wizards' legal rights to compensate Muggles is the right choice... Doing so will alienate wizards from you, even Muggle-born wizards may not agree with your theories."

"If you merely think my views are incorrect and thus completely deny my exam paper, it's discrimination too." Vivi added again, then looked at Dumbledore and asked, "Professor, I believe I have the right to speak, don't I?"

"Indeed, Miss Grindelwald." Dumbledore nodded.

Vivi's eyes flickered for a moment.

"So, Professor Bubaji, I think deducting a part of my score for this section of answers isn't enough to give my exam paper a 'T', is it?"

"Yes." Professor Bubaji sighed, "I think it's my mistake, Miss Grindelwald."

After saying that, she picked up a pen and crossed out the "T" on Vivi's exam paper, changing it to an "E".

Vivi curved her lips slightly and turned to leave the Muggle Studies office.

Ha...

She inwardly chuckled disdainfully.

After leaving the office, Dumbledore breathed a sigh of relief.

He glanced at Vivi and said, "I thought you would get angry, Miss Grindelwald."

"Anger just stems from the inability to change the current state," Vivi said quite relaxed, "At least I changed the grade from 'T' to 'E', right?"

"I really didn't expect you would be content with an 'E'." Professor Dumbledore blinked and said.

Vivi chuckled and told Dumbledore, "Life inherently has many imperfections; I can't make everyone like me. Some like me, some dislike me. It's precisely these imperfections that create our lives."

"You are right, Miss." Professor Dumbledore sighed heavily, "Unfortunately, many people don't understand this."

After saying this, he asked again, "Do you have any plans? I mean for your summer vacation—will you continue studying at the Muggle university, or do something else?"

Vivi looked at Dumbledore.

She naturally understood what Dumbledore's implication was.

Dumbledore's other layer of meaning was—what are you planning to do with Harry?
