Chapter 83 - Chapter 81: We Can't Expect First-Year Students to Protect the Magic Stone, Can We?

The first class on the next morning was Professor Snape's Magic Potion class.

In a daze, Harry felt someone pushing him.

"Get up, Harry."

It was Seamus's voice.

"Today's the old bat's class, do you want to get sprayed with his venom?"

It was Ron's voice.

"Old bat?" Harry rubbed his eyes.

"Oh, it's Snape." Ron helpfully explained to Harry, "Fred and George said he wears an all-black robe and looks a lot like a bat."

Harry couldn't hold it in and laughed.

While sitting together for breakfast, Ron asked Harry in a low voice, "Harry, how did it go in the Forbidden Forest last night?"

"I think it went okay," Harry shrugged, scooping some tomato-baked beans with bread before adding a slice of sausage and bacon, "The Forbidden Forest is indeed dangerous, but I made a friend there. I'll introduce you guys to her after lunch."

"A new friend?" Ron showed interest: "Her? Is it a centaur?"

"No, it's a unicorn." Harry smiled mysteriously at Ron.

"Cool..." Hermione leaned in with interest: "How did you guys meet? Oh... I mean, I read that unicorns generally only get close to pure-hearted females. I didn't expect they would make friends with boys too."

"Because a Dark Wizard attacked her, and I happened to pass by and save her." Harry said honestly.

"How did you defeat that Dark Wizard?" Neville suddenly asked.

"I used an Inoffensive Minor Curse on him." Harry took a bite of bread.

The tangy and delicious tomato-baked beans, together with the unique flavor of the sausage and some smoky bacon, provided a bit of satisfaction to Harry's empty stomach.

What else can I say?

Hermione became alert when she heard the phrase "Inoffensive Minor Curse."

"What did you say, Harry?" Hermione asked quietly: "You didn't... Oh heavens, did you actually use..."

At this point, Hermione seemed choked up for a moment.

"Alright, alright, when encountering danger, randomly trying such a spell is nothing much, just... no one noticed, right?"

"No one." Harry thought of Axew at this point.

Oops, when leaving with Hagrid yesterday, he forgot to take Axew, who had been hit with a Stunning Spell, with him.

Hope it's okay, Harry thought, adding some scrambled eggs on top of his toast, adding some bacon and sausage, and finally a slice of tomato and cheese, making a delicious sandwich.

"No wonder."

Hermione diverted the topic but furrowed her brows again.

"It's just... why did that Dark Wizard attack the unicorn? Well, it is a very holy and noble creature, attacking a unicorn is an unforgivable crime no matter the reason..."

"Because of the unicorn's blood." Harry answered concisely: "A centaur named Ferrenze told me that the Dark Wizard was using the unicorn's blood to prolong his wretched life, so he could get the Magic Stone to restore life and power."

"No wonder." Hermione lowered her head, pondered for a moment, and then asked again: "Then the question is, the Magic Stone is at Hogwarts, who would dare to steal it right under Dumbledore's nose?"

"There's such a person, who lay dormant for many years, longing to rise again, but he is now in tatters – only this method could enable him to restore his power at its peak." Harry devoured his homemade sandwich in a few bites, "Guess who else?"

"Who is it?" Ron took a sip of pumpkin juice.

"Is it Voldemort?!" Hermione whispered.

Hearing this name, Ron didn't hold his pumpkin juice well, and it fell with a clatter on the table.

Fortunately, it was a thick glass cup, and he drank more than half, so it didn't spill on him.

Seamus drew in a sharp breath, whether from hearing that name or from hearing about Voldemort.

As for Neville, his face turned completely pale.

Among the five of them, only Hermione and Harry remained unfazed by the name.

Hermione was because she didn't know enough about Voldemort, Harry simply didn't find Voldemort worth fearing.

"How can it be!" Ron stood up suddenly, attracting the attention of the entire hall with his large motion.

He quickly sat down again, lowering his voice, "It's impossible, Hogwarts has Principal Dumbledore, how dare he?"

"What if Dumbledore isn't at the school?" Hermione fixed her gaze on Ron, "You know, the principal isn't at school all the time, once he leaves, that would be the best time for Voldemort to act! We must warn Principal Dumbledore!"

"Don't worry, Hermione, Hagrid already went to the Headmaster's Office to warn Professor Dumbledore last night." Harry replied absentmindedly.

He was only concerned about two things – finding the Magic Stone and removing the curse on Pabi's wound.

Since Harry said so, Hermione couldn't say much more.

Yeah, since Principal Dumbledore already knew the situation, he would definitely make a reasonable response.

We can't expect us first-year students to protect the Magic Stone, right?

The Magic Potion class was still spent amid Professor Snape's venom spraying, this time even Hermione wasn't spared, because she was preoccupied, accidentally adding half an ounce too much of bat liver.

After Harry brewed a perfect Enlargement Potion, Snape sneered and unwillingly awarded Gryffindor one point.

Subsequently, Gryffindor lost five points because Neville scorched the cauldron dry and flipped it over.

The Gryffindor students were used to it, after all, Professor Snape deducting points from Gryffindor was the norm.

But even so, it didn't prevent Slytherin from currently having the lowest points in the House Cup – because Slytherin's house points had been deducted by a hundred and fifty points from him.

After class, Harry told Ron and the others to wait outside.

He had bought a few bottles of Blood Replenishing Potion at Diagon Alley, but honestly, potions bought outside weren't as effective as those personally brewed by a Master of Magic Potions like Professor Snape.

If it were a regular person needing such a potion, it might be okay, but Pabi was his old friend, he would rather get sprayed by Snape's venom, than not give his good friend the best potion.

Snape of course noticed Harry who hadn't left, he sneered, "Is there anything else, Potter? Does the great Mr. Savior have some adolescent troubles to consult his poor old professor?"
