Chapter 79 - Chapter 77: Crucio!

"Dazzling?"

Hagrid and Harry looked up together, trying to find the firestar in the sky.

Indeed, as Ronan said, they almost immediately found it, a star shining unnaturally bright in the sky.

"It is indeed dazzling," Hagrid said, and he asked, "Have you seen anything strange around here recently? A unicorn is injured—do you know anything about it?"

Ronan didn't answer Hagrid's question, only cryptically replied, "Tonight's firestar is very dazzling."

Hagrid helplessly patted Harry and said to him, "See? Centaurs are always like this, they never give straightforward answers, always gazing at the stars—it's frustrating, they seem indifferent to everything besides the night sky, and the most annoying part is that they never speak clearly..."

Riddlers, huh?

Harry hadn't talked much with Centaurs, he had only fought them and heard their screams.

He used to think Vivi was a bit harsh, but now...

They deserve it!

This is the lesson the Riddlers earned!

"But their hearts aren't bad, you see." Hagrid chuckled and said, "They might dislike speaking directly, but they truly love this forest and those magical creatures... Let's move on."

They bypassed Ronan, still gazing at the stars, and continued forward.

"They remind me of Professor Dumbledore," Harry kicked away a branch and said to Hagrid, "They have the same habit, always speaking half the truth."

"Saying it like that, it indeed seems so." Hagrid shook his shoulders, looked down at the ground and said, "Look, the ground is all covered with that poor unicorn's blood, even the roots of the trees..."

They walked two more steps, encountering a fork in the road.

The paths at the fork were stained with spotted unicorn blood, appearing fresh, as if the creature hadn't gone far.

"Let's split up, Hagrid," Harry said to Hagrid, "I think the poor creature hasn't run far, if we're quick enough, perhaps we can save its life."

"This..." Hagrid hesitated, with one side wanting to save the poor unicorn and the other worried that Harry might encounter danger alone.

"Don't worry, Hagrid, I'll be careful—if I run into danger, I'll shoot red fireworks into the sky for help." He persuaded again.

Hagrid was clearly moved, nodding to Harry, "Okay, then, I'll send Axew with you—though it's a coward, it's quite alert."

Harry lowered his head, not really thinking that the big dog in front of him would be of any help.

Do you think it's our Phoenix Fiona? Able to swallow a Death Curse for its companion...

But he didn't refuse Hagrid's goodwill, saying, "Alright, Hagrid, I'll take Axew."

"Hmm, be careful," Hagrid said, raising his Stone Bow again, heading towards one of the paths.

Halfway through, he turned back to confirm, "Are you really okay? We could go together."

"That poor unicorn doesn't have much time, Hagrid," Harry replied.

After Hagrid's figure disappeared down the path, Harry tucked away his own magic wand and drew the seized wand.

He proceeded with Axew.

After roughly half an hour of walking deeper into the forest, the trees became extremely dense, and the path was nearly impassable.

The bloodstains became more and more spotted, even pooling into a small silvery puddle on the ground.

It seemed like the poor unicorn was barely holding on.

Axew also appeared increasingly agitated, running around Harry's feet, occasionally tugging at his robe to pull him back.

Harry ignored it, and followed the direction indicated by the unicorn's blood.

In front of him was a tangle of ancient oak branches, through which he could see a clearing ahead.

"Neigh..."

A sound of painful moaning, just hearing it evoked purity and nobility.

Harry parted the branches, seeing a white figure lying despairingly on the ground, eyes flickering with pleading light.

He didn't act rashly, instead, he cast a Stunning Spell at the frantic Axew.

Axew managed a small whimper before collapsing, unconscious.

Meanwhile, a rustling emerged from the bushes beside the unicorn, suggesting something was crawling inside.

Harry instantly rose in alert, focusing on the movement within the bushes, soon a hooded figure emerged from within.

It crawled slowly on the ground, like some twisted, dark thing, creeping towards the unicorn.

Finally, it reached the unicorn, lowered its head, and started voraciously drinking the unicorn's blood from its wound.

"Neigh..."

The unicorn lamented, seemingly seeking help.

At that moment, searing pain blasted through Harry's head, as if his scar had caught fire—the last time it hurt like this was when he saw Sebastian use Avada Kedavra.

Harry forcefully suppressed the agony in his forehead, raised his wand, aiming at the figure harming the unicorn.

"Stupefy!"

The figure was caught completely off guard, getting hit by the Stunning Spell and rolling away.

Seeing someone cast a spell to save it, the unicorn struggled a bit, eyes flashing with hopeful light.

Knocked out?

Harry cautiously moved forward, not dropping his guard, pointing towards where the black figure disappeared.

True to his expectations, just a few steps ahead, the black figure re-emerged from the disappeared direction, resembling a robed and hooded Death God—just missing a scythe to perfect the look.

As the figure floated up, the burning pain from Harry's scar intensified, nearly making him drop his wand.

He had to do something, he thought.

Meanwhile, the robed black figure levitated upwards, rushing towards him menacingly.

The scorching pain from his scar made it feel like something was burning inside his chest.

"Run!"

An ethereal and extremely weak female voice sounded, as if saying this had exhausted her entire strength.

Harry endured the pain, one hand covering his scar, the other holding the wand, pointing at the rushing black figure.

"Crucio!"
