Chapter 60 - Chapter 58: Family Secrets

"Regarding the specific details, even your grandfather didn't hear your great-grandfather mention them." Lucius tapped his finger on the table lightly, and the House-Elf immediately stepped forward to refill his tea, "Part of the reason lies in the operation of fairies, so the Malfoy Clan also promised to avoid mentioning Cassandra as much as possible."

"Does the Malfoy Clan actually fear those fairies?" Draco looked at his father in disbelief.

"No, Little Dragon." Lucius' voice was gentle: "If the fairies hadn't shown enough sincerity, why would the Malfoy Clan agree to such a request? Besides, your grandfather also mentioned to me that supposedly the Malfoy Clan agreed to the fairies merely to go with the flow; in fact, the real reason was that Cassandra had stolen the Merlin's Secret Treasure handed down by the family, so in his fury, your great-grandfather removed her from the Malfoy Clan's family tree."

"Why?" Draco asked, puzzled: "Why would she do that? Where is she now?"

"I don't know; I just heard that during that time she was always in a daze, muttering about that Potter... After that, she disappeared." Lucius reached out and picked up the teacup, "However, before your great-grandfather died, he left a last request that if Cassandra was found, she must be reinstated into the Malfoy Clan... Ha, how is that possible? After so many years, she might already be dead."

"Perhaps she's still alive? Otherwise, why would great-grandfather say such a thing?" Draco hesitantly asked, he somehow felt that Cassandra should still be alive.

"That's because Cassandra was his most cherished little sister." Lucius said, "People always find it hard to accept the passing of loved ones."

Draco nodded knowingly.

"Tell me about your classmates." Lucius asked seemingly casually, "No need to mention Slytherin, talk about Potter, the child who defeated the Dark Demon King."

Upon hearing his father's words, Draco began recounting in detail the process of getting acquainted with Harry.

When he mentioned calling Hermione a 'Mudblood' on the train, both Lucius and Narcissa's faces turned very unpleasant.

"Perhaps you should really pay attention to the friends around you, Little Dragon." Lucius' voice was low: "We don't like Wizard born from Muggle origins, that's true, but a person with good family upbringing wouldn't say such a thing openly in front of others; it would disgrace our entire family."

"Yes, father." Draco quickly apologized: "I was wrong."

He then talked about Harry's Magic Spell skills, especially his remarkable Duel with Miss Fari.

"Jemma from the Farley family?" Lucius pondered and nodded, "She is quite a good young person, her Magic Spell skills are even outstanding among adults, so you're saying that Harry Potter, a first-year freshman, could crush her in a Wizard Duel and win?"

(Miss Fari, with a touch of an underworld filter)

"Yes, father." Draco straightened his back after being glanced at by his father, "I witnessed the Duel firsthand; even before that, Potter had already defeated Marcus Flint and his friends."

Lucius fell silent, pondering for a moment, exchanging a look with his wife, and then said to Draco, "I understand, perhaps you should try to make friends with Potter rather than always opposing him. If you keep your eyes open a bit, you might notice that Miss Fari is likely already engaging with him."

"But, father." Draco said with a frown, "Around Potter are the Weasley family's disgrace to Pure Blood and the Mud... Muggle Species..."

"Draco?" Lucius raised an eyebrow and said in a sing-song tone: "What did I just say?"

"Yes, father." Draco immediately replied, "The Malfoy Clan, interests above all."

Lucius' frown eased, seeing his son understood the sentiment and added.

"And also, family above all."

...

After Harry and Ron arrived at the Granger family home, they were warmly welcomed by the entire family.

Mr. Granger was a person of diplomacy, even when dealing with two children, maintaining none of the adult arrogance, making his conversation and behavior feel like a spring breeze.

During dinner, Harry and Ron ate to their full satisfaction, especially Ron, who initially was a bit reserved but didn't hold back once dinner started; now he was slumped in his chair groaning.

"Who still wants pudding?" Mrs. Granger walked into the dining room with the pudding and asked.

"Unless I loosen my belt, dear." Mr. Granger said weakly, leaning against the back of his chair.

"Mine is already loosened." Harry leaned against his chair as well.

Having such delicious food in England was truly not an easy thing.

"During the caramelized potatoes and roast lamb chop, I already took off mine." Ron raised his belt weakly and praised with admiration: "Mrs. Granger's cooking is indeed incredible, much better than my mom's..."

"Alright, gentlemen." Mrs. Granger helplessly put down the pudding and said to them, "Perhaps you should go to the living room, leave this to me."

"You mean, stand up?" Mr. Granger looked up and asked.

"I don't think I can stand up." Harry tried to shift in his chair but failed.

"I didn't wear a belt." Ron said succinctly.

"Men..." Hermione looked at the three men, shaking her head helplessly.

With the Granger family's warm hospitality and invitations, Ron and Harry could only stay at their home.

"Either way, even if you leave, you'd just return to the castle, right?" That's what Mr. Granger said.

The TV buzzed with programs, and Ron looked at it with great interest for a long time, as it was his first time encountering such a thing.

"It's really a time of turmoil now..." Mr. Granger seemed to be watching the news, "I think I should go to the bank to borrow some Rubles and exchange them for British Pounds, what do you say, dear?"

The latter was directed at Mrs. Granger.

"Whatever you decide." Mrs. Granger leaned over and kissed Mr. Granger's face.

"Then it's decided." Mr. Granger turned his head and said to Harry and Ron, "Young gentlemen, tomorrow I happen to go to the bank, I could take you to the... Broken Cauldron Bar on the way, want to come along?"

"Yes, Mr. Granger, thank you." Harry said.

He then asked Hermione: "Hermione, would you like to come along?"

"I won't go." Hermione said with a shrug, "I still need to organize Christmas gifts at home, oh dear... Suddenly I realized I also need to prepare gifts for the professors, I wonder if the owls can manage it."

With Hermione's reminder, Harry also remembered.

Indeed, what should I give the professors?
