Chapter 99 - Huliena’s Assessment 2

Huliena had never really understood why the Saintess, with her extraordinary talent, would fear Tang San so much. Huliena knew Tang San had a dual Martial Soul. Even though his second Martial Soul was the Hao Tian Hammer, and even though he could withstand the pressure of a Douluo-level opponent for the length of an incense stick, it was still surprising.

After all, their own junior prince of the Spirit Hall was no slouch either. From awakening, his Martial Soul had innate full-level Spirit Power at twenty, possessing a God-class Angel Martial Soul and a Divine Sword Martial Soul, combining support and attack capabilities, and he was trained under a Sword Douluo. Facing a Douluo's oppression for the duration of an incense stick was nothing for him—a support-type Martial Soul could confront a Title Douluo directly.

At this moment, although Huliena could not control her own body and could only observe, she understood clearly that Tang San's identity as Tang Hao's son had already been exposed. No matter what, the Spirit Hall would not let him go; the Emperor of the Hall had already ordered that Tang San be eliminated on the battlefield if possible.

Thus, when the Yao Mei fusion was completed, Huliena realized that the Spirit Hall Academy had already won most of the final match; what remained was simply dealing with Tang San in the red mist. Though Huliena did not yet understand the connection between the current scene and the "Test of Heart," she was ready to sit back and watch the spectacle.

Back on the battlefield, the red mist from Yao Mei had completely enveloped the Shrek Seven Devils. The greatest feature of Yao Mei's Red Mist was control: within its range, everyone's senses were reduced by fifty percent, their Spirit Power suppressed by fifty percent, and all actions slowed by fifty percent.

In addition, the red mist contained a mixture of malicious energy and illusionary effects. Apart from the three fifty-percent debuffs, only Yao Mei could see through the mist.

Of course, countering Yao Mei's skill was not impossible. Using a Domain or higher-level Spirit Power could neutralize it. But the Shrek Seven were currently only Spirit Sect-level; they clearly did not possess that ability.

Watching the Shrek Seven being swallowed by the red mist without using their Seven-Body Fusion Skill, members of the Spirit Hall Academy team could not help but smirk. Even Emperor Bibi Dong's expression softened slightly.

Just when everyone thought the Spirit Hall Academy had the victory in hand, six of the Shrek Seven suddenly sprouted wings from their backs. All except Tang San flew out of the red mist.

Seeing their flight, even Emperor Bibi Dong looked surprised, her expression darkening. Clearly, they had overlooked an important support-type among the Shrek Seven.

Unexpectedly, Tang San did not use his flight to escape the mist; he remained alone inside.

The Shrek Six had flown out of the control range of the Yao Mei Fusion Skill. Though the Xie Yue siblings were shocked, they were helpless. Their Martial Soul Fusion, though powerful, greatly consumed their Spirit Power and prevented them from using other skills during its execution.

Since the Spirit Hall Academy's support-type Martial Soul users could not restore Spirit Power, they had to suffer this disadvantage. The Xie Yue siblings decided to first deal with Tang San and then immediately assist their teammates to eliminate the Shrek Six—this would suffice.

Within the red mist, only Yao Mei could see. Tang San grew eight thick, grotesque spider legs from his back, each four to five meters long, as thick as an arm, with slightly curved barbs glinting with icy coldness.

Yao Mei could see that Tang San's eyes had turned purple. First, he could see the attacks of the Moon Blades through the mist, his unique eye ability proving useful. Secondly, with the external enhancements, the mist's negative effects on Tang San were minimal.

"External Soul Bones? Or a fusion? Truly lucky." Even Huliena and Xie Yue could not hide their envy.

Although the situation exceeded the Spirit Hall's expectations, they trusted Yan. As the Spirit Hall's Golden Generation, his brilliance was evident.

Outside the red mist, Yan watched the Shrek Six fly free of the Xie Yue-Huliena Fusion Skill. He showed no panic. Dark red flames flared from his body, and under the influence of his first two soul rings, his body swelled dramatically.

Outside the mist, five Spirit Hall Academy members and six Shrek Academy members engaged in fierce battle.

Though the Shrek members' Spirit Power lagged behind, they had the continent's top support-type aiding them, plus a food-type Spirit Master providing supply. Even a genius academy like the Spirit Hall could not immediately overwhelm them.

The battle reached a stalemate.

Huliena, watching, was not overly worried. The gap was too wide to overcome quickly. Once Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing were defeated, Yan would act, or once Yao Mei eliminated Tang San, Shrek's defeat was inevitable.

Yan and Yao Mei launched powerful attacks, intending a swift victory. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, realizing they were outmatched, switched to guerrilla tactics: Dai absorbed attacks head-on, while Zhu launched sneak attacks from the side.

Even Yan, though a Spirit King, could not fully counter the Ghost White Tiger due to their Fusion Skill, temporarily restricting his actions.

Inside the red mist, Xie Yue attempted to swiftly eliminate Tang San with the Moon Blades. Yao Mei, guided by Xie Yue, struck repeatedly, but Tang San, using the Eight Spider Spears and his Ghostly Shadows, countered skillfully, leaving Xie Yue temporarily at a loss.

Xie Yue sneered, recalling the promise to the Emperor before the match. He unleashed increasingly ferocious attacks, forcing Tang San into a defensive retreat.

Seizing an opportunity, Yao Mei directed a Moon Blade at Dai Mubai. Huliena, Xie Yue, and Yan had known each other since the orphanage. They had trained together, joined the Spirit Hall, and naturally coordinated without need for words.

Seeing the Moon Blade aimed at Dai Mubai, Yan activated his fourth soul skill. The air thickened, twisted, and the heat slowed everyone, making the Moon Blade only a few meters from Dai Mubai. Xie Yue's cruel smile was visible, expecting Dai's bones to shatter.

But at that moment, layers of black light erupted beneath Dai Mubai, forming Blue Silver Grass cages. Seven layers of barrier formed around him, blocking the distorted airflow.

One by one, the Blue Silver Cages broke the Moon Blade's momentum, weakening its red glow.

With Dai Mubai safe for now, Tang San controlled the Eight Spider Spears to strike at Xie Yue.

Xie Yue's second Moon Blade, radiating red, easily deflected Tang San's attack.

Inside the red mist, despite Tang San's unique eyes tracking the Moon Blades, he could not stop them with raw ability.

Unexpectedly, Tang San repeatedly used the Hao Tian Hammer to resist the Moon Blades. Each throw followed a bizarre trajectory, and his hands, as hard as jade, rendered the Moon Blades ineffective.

Meanwhile, Yao Mei's Fusion Skill was restrained, consuming massive Spirit Power. Huliena finally acknowledged Tang San's strength. No wonder the junior prince feared him. Huliena longed to control her body and strike Tang San herself.

Xie Yue, unwilling to waste further time, drew in a deep breath. "You are the first to challenge my self-created skill. Losing to it should be an honor."

Tang San replied coldly, "You haven't won yet. When Feng Xiaotian used the Gale Demon Wolf Thirty-Six Strike on me, you must have thought the same. You saw the result."

Xie Yue sneered, "Feng Xiaotian, a rookie, comparable to me? My self-created skill is flawless. Witness, Full Moon."

Huliena relaxed slightly seeing him use their strongest attack. She was confident in this move; it had been decisive in the second trial during their Imperial Blade Squad days.

As Huliena predicted, Tang San could not block the strike and relied on the Eight Spider Spears to shield himself. Eventually, the Spears broke, and although the external Soul Bones saved his life, the damage was immense. Broken bones made Tang San vomit blood, writhing in pain.

Yao Mei could no longer maintain the Fusion Skill; it vanished, and the red mist dissipated.

All eyes turned to Tang San and Xie Yue. Shrek's members' hearts sank, while Spirit Hall members couldn't help but smile.

Tang San lay in a pool of blood, body twitching from shattered Soul Bones. Though he struggled to rise, it was obvious the Spirit Hall held overwhelming dominance. The red mist battle had clearly been won by Huliena and Xie Yue.

Though pale, they were not seriously injured, only massively drained of Spirit Power.

Spirit Hall support-types immediately restored Huliena and Xie Yue's Spirit Power, improving their appearance.

Xie Yue looked at Tang San with a hint of regret. He understood the battlefield: "You're strong. I hear you're not even fifteen—truly unimaginable talent. In aptitude, I am inferior to you."

Yet, he raised his Moon Blade high, for the Spirit Hall, for the Emperor's command: Tang San must die.

"Don't think you've won." Tang San slowly raised his right hand, Spirit Power so depleted he could only maintain his Xuan Jade Hand with one hand. In it were shards of the previous Eight Spider Spears.

"Do you really think you can turn the tide?" Xie Yue asked, curious, as Tang San struggled to rise.

Tang San smiled faintly. "You used your self-created skill; I haven't. You've seen my true strength, but do you know what it really is?"

"Self-created skill? In your current state? Seven Treasure Glazed Tower or not, you can't perform miracles with Spirit Power nearly depleted and shattered Soul Bones."

"Is that so? Then watch my true strength."

Tang San moved—only his right hand. His forearm twitched rhythmically, and when his fingers spread, they seemed to vanish, becoming phantom-like. The shards of the Eight Spider Spears scattered, flying unpredictably.

Recalling Qian Renyue's warning, Huliena realized Tang San was adept at using hidden weapons and poison. Normally, they would need to prepare Spirit Shields against him. Seeing the Spears fly, she thought: "This is bad…" but could only watch helplessly.

Just as Xie Yue prepared to mock Tang San's self-created skill, the Spears' erratic flight struck down the Spirit Hall members. Small cuts formed, but the damage immediately turned the tide.

Except for Yan, all other Spirit Hall members fell. Xie Yue siblings struggled to resist the poison—a desperate measure.

Guided by Doupo Douluo Dugu Bo, Emperor Bibi Dong could only declare Spirit Hall Academy defeated. With Ning Fengzhi's help, Tang San recovered and was asked to detox the Spirit Hall members.

Thus, the High-Level Academy Spirit Master Competition ended. Shrek Academy won, gaining fame across the continent and receiving three Soul Bones from Spirit Hall.

Huliena, unaware of later events, felt a mix of resentment and admiration. Tang San's last-minute reversal exceeded all expectations.

She finally understood why their junior prince always pushed them to train hard. Though she did not know the source of Tang San's strange abilities, she realized that with sufficient strength, no matter how bizarre his powers, Tang San would be unstoppable.
