I've noted the people of Zenless and Remnant largely remain the same. Caesar Kind still leads a gang that cares for the people right outside Vale. Roman Torchwick is still a master thief whose targets have 'mysteriously' switched to Dust. Menagerie was led by Kali and Ghira Belladonna until they stepped down years ago, when the White Fang took a more aggressive stance with Sienna Khan at the helm.
But aside from many appearing the same I've definitely noticed some interlapping between the two worlds. Jacques Schnee is an extraordinarily powerful man, with a top position within TOPS (The Outstanding Paragons Alliance). The Mayor of New Vale is best friends with councilor Ozpin.
This does complicate some things but if everything remained canon in this amalgam world I find myself in; well, wouldn't that be too boring?
-Beacon: Admission day-
The young man had to have had the worst luck. First, the Bullhead they're on experiences some turbulence. Then, he accidentally pukes on a gorgeous blonde's boots and pretty much ruins his chances of trying to impress her. Woe it is, to be Jaune Arc.
"Oughh... Never going flying again.. At least not without some medicine." Jaune muttered as he finished expelling his breakfast and lunch into a nearby bush.
Spitting out the remaining taste of vomit in his mouth, he took a cursory glance around the area.
Turns out, while he was busy puking his guts out, the rest of the student applicants had already left. Most of them, anyway.
"Aw man.. Awesome, Jaune. First impression and you blow it. With a hot blonde girl too-"
*BOOOM*
Jaune nearly leapt out of his skin when a somewhat loud explosion blew a small crater in Beacon's courtyard nearby.
"Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!" A white haired girl huffed angrily and stomped on the ground.
Jaune felt his mouth dry up seeing her. She was easily the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. The redhead was cute too, with pale skin and beautiful silver eyes. She was the cutest girl he'd ever seen. Though this was largely due to him not being around any Huntresses besides his own sisters. He was about to step in when he saw who was approaching them and nearly tripped over nothing.
"Excuse me~?"
If the white haired girl was pretty and the redhead was cute, this girl was overwhelmingly sexy. Her own hair unique, with blunted bangs and a black-to-red gradient hair that swayed with each step. She had pierced rat Faunus ears on the sides of her head and a very flexible tail that seemed to exude her confidence.
"Oh hey.. you're the girl Yang won't stop talking about." The redhead stood up from the crater and nervously laughed while the white haired girl focused on the Faunus woman.
"Terribly sorry to break up your argument about Dust safety- terribly.. But it seems you've taken to blaming the wrong person here, Miss Schnee. That Dust capsule wasn't secured properly, no? As much as..-" The Faunus woman paused and looked at the younger redhead questioningly.
"Oh! Er.. Ruby, Ma'am." Ruby answered, fixing her skirt and returning a nervous smile.
"-Ruby here is to blame for not watching where she's going.. Don't you share some blame here in this accident?"
Weiss' mouth opened and closed twice, as if she were thinking of a retort. Frankly, if she had been verbally attacked or criticised, she'd have a proper response ready. But the gorgeous Faunus woman worded it in such a way that didn't do either. It was framed as both parties being responsible, after all.
"I... will concede that perhaps I hadn't secured the Dust as best as it could be.. but she still carelessly bumped into me and SNEEZED on my fire Dust!" Weiss replied, still indignant.
"Wha!? I only sneezed because-" "Now now~ I think we can come to a fair conclusion this was just an accident. And I'm sure you'll both be more careful from now on hm? Otherwise.. well, I'm sure you wouldn't want to spend your first day at Beacon Academy repairing the courtyard. Right?" Jane interrupted Ruby before an argument could occur and placated the both of them before reinforcing a potential consequence of further negligence.
"Ergh... no. I would not. I apologize for my mistake. It won't happen again."
"Ehe.. yeah, me too. Sorry." Weiss, then Ruby apologized in unison, looking at the Faunus woman as she hid her smile in front of her face with both hands.
"Great~ Now, I suspect we've fallen behind the others. Shall we head to the auditorium together? My name is Jane, by the way. Nice to meet you." She looked at Ruby and Weiss before turning around to look at Jaune, who stood there, blushing with a dumb expression on his face.
"I... uh... yeah! I'll go too, of course." Jaune cleared his throat and walked forward, trying to make less obvious he was staring earlier.
"Sooo.. I got this!" Ruby ran ahead and introduced her weapon, Crescent Rose.
As far as War Scythes went, Crescent Rose was something special. Jane looked at it with a certain nostalgia before putting on a genuine impressed smile.
"That's a very cool weapon~. A Scythe-Sniper rifle is very unique." Jane complimented and Jaune nodded, looking particularly impressed himself. Weiss hadn't seemed to be as impressed but looked at the scythe, then Ruby.
"It's almost comically too big for you. Wait, how old are you? And you? You seem.." Weiss looked at Jane, who tilted her head and gave her a peculiar smile that didn't reach her eyes.
Jaune and Ruby's faces paled. Jaune grew up around multiple women, so he knew which questions you were never supposed to ask a lady. Her age? That was pretty up there on the 'Jaune don't you EVER ask this shit' list his sisters all contributed in making, just for him. And for Ruby? She heard enough horror stories from her Dad and Uncle about the shitstorms they went through as younger, not-so wise men.
"Ah~? Are you implying something, Miss Schnee?" Jane's eyes narrowed just a little and her tail flicked quickly. Just a subtle change in body language and Weiss felt a chill run up her spine, giving her brief flashbacks to when her sister had been cross with her.
"No.. I was- I was simply-" "Mhmhm~" Faster than it appeared on her face, all of Jane's body language shifted, as if she were just playing a prank.
Her chuckling flustering the three teenagers in front of her before she put her hands over her chest and pointed both fingers at Weiss.
"My bad~. I was just teasing you. I'm actually one of the teachers this year. A pleasure to meet you, Weiss, Ruby and Jaune~"
All three of them were hit with different feelings at once.
'Teacher? Thankfully I wasn't too rude or combative. But.. ugh! Why did I have to question her age!?' Weiss lamented to herself, her eye twitching but otherwise kept a straight face.
'Oh yeah! How'd I forget? I really wanted to see those boot knives and tail blade.. They looked so so so cool!' Ruby seemed to realize, then vibrate in excitement.
'Oh man.. I get to see and hear her every day? Can I do that without embarassing myself!? Okay Jaune! You can do this! Just don't fall in love with your teacher!!' Jaune looked to be internally hyping himself up, taking a deep breath to calm his nerves while his eyes avoided Jane's.
Before they could reply, Jane had already opened the double doors to the auditorium, her tail flicking behind her as her eyes roamed the filled hall for a few moments. Then, she turned to the three would-be students and winked.
"Go on in. The Headmaster will give an announcement, hand out the student handbooks and go over the rules and expectations. I'll be.. around, if you want to talk." Jane explained with a slight smile before slipping away, heading into the busy auditorium.
She had spotted a few people of interest.
'Ukinami Yuzuha and Kamato Manato are here. And I think I just spotted Ellen and her friends. Interesting.. I have to see if some of them become friends with the other cast.. for.. investigative reasons, of course~' Jane smirked to herself as she stood near the wall and observed the students.
-Yang XiaoLong POV-
Coming to Beacon was always my dream. I think the idea of going out and adventuring, saving people and having fun is what kept me going when I had to make sure Dad and Ruby were okay. Knowing Ruby would come with me was a big bonus but she was always too nervous for own good.
"I just hope she doesn't lean on me too much.." I mutter, when I feel the familiar human-sized rocket smack into me.
"Yaaang! You abandoned me!" Ruby gave her signature pout and whine.
"Aw c'mon, sis. You gotta learn to socialize more!" I proudly proclaim, even though she's giving me the stink-eye.
"Like you socialize?"
I'm absolutely offended. I'm Yang XiaoLong! The girl Mothers dread their sons bring home! The girl Fathers give their son a high-five for dating! Of course, I've only ever dated superficially but still! I knew how to socialize. I could pick almost anyone in this room under the age of thirty and charm their pants off.
"Oh Ruby.. Rubaby.. I socialize. Here, let me show you how it's done." I retort to my naive baby sis and take a look around, until I stop when I see her.
Jane Doe. That unfairly attractive Faunus lady was watching us with that smile that makes my belly feel tight and warm. That almost cute/sexy thing she does when she puts her hands in front of her lips, like a rat makes me feel a certain type of feeling I'd almost call aroused..
But that'd be gay. I'm not into women.
"Hello again, Yang. Is Ruby here your friend maybe?" Her breathy voice made my spiraling thoughts crash, hard.
So I responded the only way I could, "Heeeey there.. um.. yeah-wait no.. Ruby's my sister! Hehe!"
I hugged my sister close, just to try and allieviate this weird feeling in my belly.
"Well I can see the resemblance in actions, I suppose. You blew up a dancefloor.. she blew up the courtyard.. just be sure not to tear up the school. I'd hate to.. punish you." With a maybe not-so subtle wink, she turned around and walked off. I barely paid any attention to the Headmaster's speech he was giving.
Maybe it was the lighting or something but I couldn't stop looking at her hips and butt. But that's platonic, right? I'm not gay. Not Yang XiaoLong..
