Chapter 115 - Episode 114: Betting on a "Reward Kiss"

Hime and Shinyo decided to play a game.

"This is how you move the blocks."

"...So it's controlled with buttons and a joystick."

What they were playing now was a classic game in which you move falling blocks left and right and rotate them to stack them in the desired location, and when you fill a horizontal line, that line disappears and you get more points.

It's a type of puzzle game known as a falling object game. It's a long-running game that even people who don't like games have probably played at least once.

"I see, I see... hmm."

Hime nodded while checking the controls on the game screen.

In front of me she is just a cute little girl who only shows her cute side, but in reality she is a genius girl with a brain so intelligent that her work has been published in overseas journals.

I actually had hopes that he would show his genius in this block game as well.

"Then let's do it."

"The match... for now, we just need to erase the line, right?"

"Yup! That's right!"

Once Hime had learned the controls to a certain extent, Shinyo challenged her to a game. She must have been itching to try it herself, but she was great at teaching Hime properly. I'll praise her later... I thought to myself as I took a deep breath.

(Phew, have I finished tidying up?)

After they started playing the game, I spent a while throwing away the snack bags and cleaning up the pieces that had fallen. Thanks to that, the place was pretty clean, so I decided to take a break.

(I guess I ate too much after all...)

 It's not exactly painful though.

Maybe because I'm full of sweets, I don't want to move. Or rather, I want to lie down.

I can feel my blood sugar rising, and I know I have to hold on because if I continue to sleep like this, it's definitely not good for my health.

So I didn't sleep, but there was nowhere to sit, so I sat on the bed.

The two of them are occupying the space in front of the monitor. It would be quite a challenge for them to sit on my lap again with their stomachs full, so I decided to watch from a little distance away.

"Let's go! Whoever wins gets to kiss Yo-chan as a reward!"

"Eh? A, a reward? I've heard about that...!"

 Hime, don't panic, stay calm.

Even Shinyo would probably think it was a joke.

"I'll definitely win!"

"...Well, I couldn't lose."

 Um... J-You're kidding, right?

Both of them were serious, their eyes changing color as they focused on the game screen. Their attitudes didn't seem like they were joking, which made me a little uneasy.

Apparently, this puzzle game now has a mode where you can play against other players. Hime and Shinyo are playing it. When you clear a row on your own, a new row appears on your opponent's screen, and if this continues, the rows can't be cleared and the game ends.

"Meow!"

"Damn it...!"

In the early stages, the experienced Shinyo had the upper hand. She was just clearing blocks without thinking, but it still seemed like Hime was struggling.

Hime is good at placing the blocks, but unfortunately she's not used to operating them...she always seems to be a beat behind, and she continues to be tormented by Shinyo.

However, she is a genius little girl after all.

Once I got used to the controls, the blocks started to disappear. Unlike Shinyo-chan, this one is more intelligent, and the way the rows are cleared is chain-like. It's not just one row, but entire rows of several rows are cleared all at once, so it's starting to look like it's getting tough for Shinyo-chan too.

"Grrr... kisses belong to Koharu!"

"I, I won't give in on that either."

...I'm a little dissatisfied with the reward though.

However, I'm genuinely excited to see how this match will turn out.
