I immediately pulled myself back to hide behind the wall. Forcing myself to break eye contact with Caleb, I was sure he knew it was me because no one else in this manor would act this strangely.
I could feel my heart beating fast, my breath short and rapid. I quickly touched my cheek and felt the warmth there.
"Damn! It's only been a few days since I last saw him." I tapped my head gently, feeling annoyed with myself for always feeling awkward when I saw Caleb.
"I have to go, this is not the time to see Caleb," I continued, muttering softly, stamping my feet lightly as I ran back upstairs to my room.
I didn't realize that Theodore had noticed my arrival, but he pretended not to and chose to tease me the next day.
When I went downstairs to meet Stacy, Theodore blocked my way again. I rolled my eyes lazily when I saw him standing in front of me with his annoying smug face.
