Just as Nathan and I got outside, we both looked at each other for a quiet moment, before we started laughing.
"These days..." I started, glancing at the gates where we waited for someone, them. "...you sound a lot more poetic."
"Glad you noticed. I've been reading up on some royal literature. To make sure I don't embarrass you as your prince."
A part of me wanted to reply. You could never embarrass me. But the words didn't leave my mouth, as I got distracted by the arrival of our companion.
"Adrianna! And her little kitten!" Megan exclaimed, her own guards angrily glaring at the Deor guards for daring to obstruct her entrance, even for a moment.
"Do you not see the Elby family crest?" one of her guards asked.
While the lady they came with happily skipped closer to us.
"Kitten? I'm a lion rather than some cat," Nathan retorted, a small frown appearing on his face.
