Chapter 10 - Wraith vs Remnant

The sea was quiet.

No waves. No thunder. No wind.

Just the silence left behind after a memory dies.

Kaien sat beside Ravina's unconscious body in the forge's upper chamber. Tools around him were still. Glyph threads flickered weakly on the walls — even the Forge was tired.

She stirred.

He didn't move.

Then—

Her fingers sparked.

Remnant Break: Core Integrity at 42%

Warning: Fragmentation event detected.

 Memory override loop forming.

Ravina gasped awake, eyes wide.

"Kaien," she breathed.

For a moment… he allowed himself hope.

But then her pupils dilated — lightning exploded from her spine, and she screamed.

The Wraith Spark had survived.

It had burrowed deeper. Hidden during the Remnant Break's purge.

Now it was reawakening.

A new version.

"Who am I?" she shrieked.

Her voice fractured the glyph walls.

Her arms glowed with recursive lines — not just power, but a looping personality shell.

She didn't know her name.

 She didn't know Kaien.

 But she remembered the pain.

And the Fruit — the evolved Wraith Spark — was feeding on the hole where her daughter used to live.

Kaien stood.

He activated a core disruptor blade, forged from a broken Zoan's scale.

"I didn't come here to fight you," he said.

"Then you should have let me forget," she growled.

Forge Chamber — Collapse Begins

The Remnant Break Fruit's lingering effect was cracking — core saturation exceeded. Now the resonance fields around her and Kaien were canceling each other out.

Every time she surged, Kaien's Forge pulled back.

Every time Kaien focused, the Wraith Spark adapted.

They weren't just fighting powers anymore.

They were fighting what was left of each other.

The Duel

Lightning met memory-blade.

She phased. He predicted.

She split into a dozen broadcast echoes — he shut down the ambient wires.

But she moved faster than before.

Every move she made burned a memory. And because she didn't remember what was important — she moved like someone with nothing to lose.

"You forged me to break!" she screamed.

"I forged you to survive!"

"Then why does it hurt more every time I breathe?!"

Kaien hesitated.

She struck.

The blast hit him full in the chest — sent him flying across the chamber into the steel wall.

Blood splattered.

Final Trigger: Remnant Break – CORE DETONATION PENDING

The fruit's last safeguard kicked in.

A pulse of anti-resonance. A final burst of forgetfulness — capable of resetting the user entirely.

Kaien crawled toward her.

She was holding her head, screaming again.

 Not in rage. In fear.

"I don't know who she is anymore!" she sobbed.

"My little girl—she's just… gone."

Kaien reached her. Pressed a hand to her back.

"Then I'll remember for both of us," he whispered.

He pressed the last echo vial into her spine.

The one he saved.

Echo Injection Complete

Ravina's body convulsed.

Her daughter's laugh filled the room — not a memory, but a feeling. Her name, her warmth, the smell of the fire before it turned deadly.

Ravina sobbed.

And then—

The Wraith Spark shattered.

Not violently.

Just…

Gone.

Silence.

Kaien collapsed beside her.

Ravina's breath slowed.

"I'm sorry," she said.

"You already were," he replied.

Her hand found his.

They didn't say anything for a long time.

Godfruit Vault – Deep Below

The Godfruit's shell cracked slightly.

Only a sliver.

Enough to let a word escape, scrawled in golden letters across its skin.

A name:

"Vohl."

Final Scene – Eltheria Island

Dreego stood before an assembled council of Cipher Pol defectors, rogue researchers, and power-hungry visionaries.

He raised a new fruit — forged from the Echoframe prototype.

"Kaien gave the world choice."

"We're going to give it consequence."

He smiled.

And in the sky above them, the clouds pulsed with golden veins.
