The day of the wedding i wake up, take a shower and get dressed and wait downstairs for Eli who's in my old room getting ready.
My grandma comes up to me smiling
"Well don't you look handsome!"
I smile
"I try grandma"
"Where's Eli"
"She's still getting ready, it's going to be weird seeing her in a dress"
Then I see her eyes light up looking towards the stairs
"Wow"
I turn around and see Eli coming down the steps. She's in a black satin dress with matching black high heels, her shoulder length hair curled up, dark colored eye shadow that goes perfectly with her and matte burgundy lipstick.
All I can do is just look at her speechless
"Well how do I look?"
"You look… beautiful"
"Aww thank you Jay, you look amazing"
"Thank you, are you ready to get going?"
"Yeah let's go"
We head to the venue, she goes heads to where all the guests will be seated while I meet up with my brother and the rest of the groomsmen. Soon the wedding is starting and up there watching my brother getting married. I look over and see Eli sitting with my family, specifically right next to my grandma. All I can do is smile until it's time for me to give the rings to my brother and his wife. Later during the reception everyone is dancing, the song "Corazon sin Cara" starts playing and Eli yanks me up to come dance with her. We starts dancing bachata with each other and are close, moving to the music and spinning her around. She brings me close and whispers in my ear.
"I didn't know you could dance?"
"Like I said before there's a lot of things you don't know about me"
We continue to dance until the end of the song then my brother calls me over to the bar.
"I'll be back my brother is calling me"
"I'll be here"
I go over and my brother hands me a shot
"Thanks man, congrats again. I'm really glad you're happy, you're wife is perfect for you"
"Thanks Jay"
We cheers and drink our shots
"But what about you"
"What you mean"
"You and Eli?"
"We're just friends Matt"
"Mmhmm come on, we all see it"
"See what?"
"I seen the way you look each other, I looked over and seen you dancing and those looks you gave each other weren't 'just friends looks'"
"What did it look like then"
"More like in love looks, also some fuck me eyes thrown in there but that's besides the point"
I start laughing
"Yeah… maybe I do have some feelings for her but I don't know if she feels the same way"
"She does Jay"
"How do you know?"
"Grandma told me, she said that when she told Eli that you would make a good couple she responded back 'I know I'm just waiting on him'"
"Man…."
I look back and see her smiling and laughing with my family, maybe it's time we do become more than friends
"Hellooooo Jay…"
"Oh my bad I got side tracked"
"Well slow song is coming up next where everyone is going to join me and my wife for a dance to end the night… maybe now's your chance"
"Right.. I'll see you later"
I walk over and sit next to Eli
"Heyyy how was your drink with Matt"
"It was good, I'm just happy that he's happyl
"That's good"
Then the DJ calls out
"Alright this is the last one for the night, the newlyweds invite you to come dance with them and that special someone"
"All my Life" starts playing
"Ughhh I hate slow songs" Eli says and sticks out her tongue
"Yeah right me too"
I stand up and reach my hand out to her
"What are you doing?"
"We both hate slow songs but we can't be the only ones not dancing, also you pulled me out earlier"
She takes my hand and we walk onto the floor. She wraps her arms around the back of my neck as I put my hands around her waist and sway to the music. All I can do is stare at her and smile
She smiles back
"Why you smiling?"
"I found out what you really said to my grandma"
"Ohhh… yeaaah"
"Well did you say that"
"Yeah I did"
"Well why didn't you tell me you liked me like that"
"I don't know… I guess I was kinda afraid to tell you"
"What if I told you I felt the same way though"
"Do you Jay?"
I move in and kiss her
"Does that answer everything?"
She smiles and kisses me back, we both continue to dance as the night ends on a high note.
