"I'm leaving."
Aria stood in the doorway with her packed bag at her feet, and her voice was steady despite the anger burning in her eyes. Marcus looked up from the financial documents spread across Viktor's table, and his expression didn't change.
"Where are you going?" Marcus asked, and his tone was carefully neutral.
"Away from you," Aria replied. "I'm done being punished for doing my job. I kissed Durant to get information that might save lives, and you've been treating me like I betrayed you ever since. I can't do this anymore, Marcus. I can't keep apologizing for something I'd do again if I had to."
"I never asked you to apologize," Marcus said, and he set down the papers he'd been reviewing. "I told you I needed time to process what happened."
