This was the Noble Phantasm Jaeger obtained by killing Jiraiya.
Because Jiraiya was a teacher who nurtured many outstanding disciples, the Noble Phantasm he sublimated was not a weapon or destructive technique, but a teaching Noble Phantasm.
Its function was simple—combat teaching.
As long as Jaeger defeated his opponent, that opponent would improve based on their own talent and foundation. The better the talent, the harsher Jaeger's strikes, the greater the leap in strength.
Those two near-death blows just now—Jaeger estimated they had saved Uchiha Madara and Angel Leng at least a hundred years of training.
Of course, this wasn't teaching in the ordinary sense. As the "teacher," Jaeger would never simply make wedding dresses for others. This Noble Phantasm improved both sides simultaneously. The benefits Jaeger gained were even greater than those his opponent received.
In just that instant, Jaeger felt several of the one hundred and fifty sun-like stars fused into his body being digested at once. And those weren't ordinary stars—they were the kind that could support an entire solar system!
Unfortunately, this Noble Phantasm could only be triggered once per person in a given period. That basically ruled out Jaeger finding a strong partner to "farm" infinite gains through mutual beatings.
Jiraiya really was a good man. In the future, during holidays, I must take Tsunade and the children to pay respects at his grave, Jaeger thought, glancing down at Jiraiya's body.
This trip to the world of Hokage was already a huge harvest. Even if Danzo didn't drop any great treasure later, it would still be worthwhile.
In the Chat Group
Jaeger: "Jibril, toss me a senzu bean!"
Jibril: "[Gift Box] Ah, Mr. Jaeger went and injured someone again, so he's asking me for another senzu bean."
Uchiha Madara: "[Picture]"
Uchiha Miyuki: "[Picture] [Picture]"
Uchiha Madara: "…I should really expel you from the Uchiha clan!"
The picture Madara sent was of Angel Leng's shattered body, fragments scattered across a broken world—a grim sight, yet strangely beautiful.
Miyuki, however, posted two far more outrageous images: one of Jaeger holding Angel Leng like a yandere lover, and another of Madara burned down to just his head.
How could Madara endure this? He was a man who lived for pride!
Eriri Sawamura: "Tsk. As expected of Mr. Jaeger. This photo would go viral instantly. And it's not like Angel Leng and Madara-san are weak, either."
Luo Hao: "Strength is always relative. Compared to Jaeger, whether it's Uchiha Madara, Angel Leng, or even me, we're like gravel before the stars. The gap is unfathomable."
Jibril: "Hmph. So these senzu beans are for the angel? Poor Madara, not even a head is enough for anyone to pity you."
Uchiha Madara: "Heh. The strong are destined to be lonely. I don't need pity. It's just a scratch. With the power of Yin and Yang Six Paths, I've already fully recovered!"
Uchiha Miyuki: "Pfft—more like you've got no luck with women, but Madara really is stubborn."
Uchiha Madara: "…"
Yamamoto Mei: "Wait, can an angel really survive with only a head? Leng doesn't have a divine body or void engine, right?"
Angel Leng: "Normally I'd be dead. But with Jaeger here…"
Yamamoto Mei: "Oh?"
Jaeger: "Rune script. The moment I liberated the Noble Phantasm, I used runes to attach Sage Authority to her. Scáthach really was an excellent teacher."
Scáthach: "It's because you're outstanding as a student that you wield the runes so well. I admire Cu Chulainn in the memory copies, but even he doesn't compare to you."
Scáthach: "But Jaeger, was it really necessary to be so heavy-handed? What if you hadn't managed to apply the runes in time? Wouldn't that risk harming both sides?"
Jaeger: "First, I'm confident in my mastery. Second, it's because of the Noble Phantasm I just acquired." [Picture]
Scáthach: "Trial of Heroes… I see. To possess this Noble Phantasm is to become the ultimate teacher—both parties improve through battle. It's practically cheating."
Kasumigaoka Utaha: "What's its exact effect?"
Uchiha Madara: "The effect is excellent. I was stuck at a bottleneck, but now my strength has broken past the limits of Shinigami and entered a whole new realm. Without this, I'd need centuries of cultivation."
Angel Leng: "Same here. I've lived tens of thousands of years, yet without upgrades, my power had stagnated. Just now, I leapt forward as though I'd trained for hundreds of years. It's absurd! I'm a goddess of technology… and this isn't scientific at all!"
Uchiha Madara: "Too bad each person can only trigger it once in a short period. Otherwise, I'd just have Jaeger hammer me a hundred times today and I'd be tenfold stronger!"
Uchiha Miyuki: "!!! So the boost is really that good? I want His Highness Jaeger to train me too!"
Jaeger: "Of course. Would you like Heaven's End or Sun's Fire? Don't worry, we're good friends. I'll give you the best service."
Uchiha Miyuki: "…Uh, can't I start with something less lethal? Even with Sage runes, those Noble Phantasms look terrifying."
Jaeger: "Yes, but the weaker the power, the weaker the improvement. Isn't that putting the cart before the horse?"
Uchiha Miyuki: "Uh… I'll think about it some more."
Jaeger: "Heh. Come back to me once you decide."
Jaeger exited the chat group and fed Angel Leng the senzu bean Jibril had sent.
The blonde angel, with her long legs and elegant figure, instantly revived to full health. Without hesitation, she nestled into Jaeger's arms.
Kasumigaoka Utaha, standing off to the side, let out a small "hmph," curling her lips.
"Angels really are good at seducing men."
Her gaze shifted toward Angel Leng, still clinging to Jaeger's arm. Then Utaha glanced at the senzu bean in Jaeger's hand.
"So this is the Senzu bean? I've seen it mentioned in the chat group announcements, but… seeing it work in reality feels terrifying."
Angel Leng ignored the barb. Looking down at her body, now fully restored without a trace of injury, she could only marvel. The power of the senzu bean was too shocking. Secretly, she made up her mind: once she returned to the City of Angels, she would request resources from Queen Keisha and establish trade with Jibril and the Flügel.
If the Angels could stockpile these beans, their strength would multiply several times over.
"Mr. World Noble," Utaha suddenly spoke, her tone laced with mock sweetness. "Now that Madara and Angel Leng have already received your… infusion… can't you give one to me as well?"
Her deliberate choice of "dirty" phrasing made Tsunade and the others, who didn't know the truth, blush furiously.
Jaeger chuckled. "Well… since you're asking, Utaha, of course I will."
As his very first follower, how could Jaeger refuse her? He raised his hand and pointed directly at her.
"The Sky is Dead—!"
Click—!
The world shattered around Utaha. She and everything nearby collapsed into nothingness.
Only a fragment of flesh—deliberately preserved by Jaeger—remained by his side. Under the effect of the Twelve Trials Noble Phantasm, it reformed into Utaha's body.
In the blink of an eye, she was resurrected… and by "coincidence," ended up nestled against Jaeger's chest, squeezing Angel Leng aside.
"Hey, little girl, are you jealous?" Angel Leng teased, amused by Utaha's boldness. She felt no real anger—after all, she had lived tens of thousands of years. To her, a girl under twenty was still a child.
"Jealous? Who said that? It was just a coincidence." Utaha's smile was sly, almost sinister.
Angel Leng thought she was dealing with an innocent girl. Little did she know that, in Utaha's eyes, Leng—who had lived for millennia without ever tasting love—was the real naive chick.
Uh-huh. She doesn't even understand what she's doing, just throwing herself into Jaeger's arms… Not exactly pure.
Utaha lifted her gaze. Jaeger's rugged face filled her vision. For a moment, her eyes carried a trace of resentment. She was, after all, an adolescent girl—naturally she longed for sweet romance, not just being hurled into near-death battles.
Jaeger, however, couldn't read minds. Stroking her silky hair, he asked softly:
"…Utaha, how much has your strength improved?"
Utaha blinked, her bitterness melting into surprise as she tested her own power.
"My strength has skyrocketed. If I measure it by spiritual pressure… it feels like I've gained at least three hundred years' worth. It's like I just won the lottery."
Even without drawing any other valuable rewards from this world, her trip to the Naruto universe had already paid off.
The Hero's Trial—this Noble Phantasm Jaeger had gained—was beyond comprehension.
Then, as though remembering something, Utaha tilted her head curiously toward him.
"By the way, this Noble Phantasm came from killing Jiraiya, right? What about the two Toad Sages? They shouldn't have been weak."
Jaeger gave a casual shrug. "They dropped something as well. After fusing together, it turned into a prop that was useless to me."
He reached into his God's Treasury and produced an emerald-green ring. Slipping it gently onto Utaha's hand, he smiled.
"This, however, suits you."
"…!"
Utaha's eyes widened. Through the chat group's interface, she instantly pulled up its details.
Ring of Illusion
Level: None
Type: Self-Noble Phantasm
Origin: Forged by killing two Sages skilled in illusions, fused with divine power.
Effect: Grants immunity to most illusions when worn.
Utaha gasped softly. To her, this was a precious treasure.
For Jaeger, however, it was little more than trinket. His resistance to illusions was already overwhelming. After all, he'd once drawn Kyōka Suigetsu, the strongest illusion Zanpakutō, from the Shinigami world's lottery.
But for Kasumigaoka Utaha—this ring was perfect.
And Jaeger, without hesitation, had given it to her.
"Tsk"
Angel Leng let out a cold hiss. Watching Jaeger slip a gift ring onto Utaha's hand while she, the guardian angel, received nothing—it was impossible not to feel jealous.
But deep down, she knew. Her reason for staying by Jaeger's side was hardly pure. Even if their bodies had often been entwined, their bond was shallow. She couldn't compare to Kasumigaoka Utaha, Jaeger's first companion, who had carved out a special place from the very start.
"…So romantic…"
Not far away, Konan, Kushina, Rin Nohara and the other girls looked on with envy. They didn't understand what a Noble Phantasm truly was, but they could clearly see that Utaha had received something precious from Jaeger—a token far more intimate than any words.
Only Uchiha Miyuki broke the air with her excited voice, raising both hands high.
"Your Highness Jaeger! I want one too! Give me two treasures to play with—eh?"
Before she could finish, a scroll suddenly burst from her ninja pouch as though alive, unfurling itself in midair.
"…That's… the Summoning Scroll of Mount Myōboku?!"
Miyuki froze, startled. "Someone's contacting me?"
Almost instinctively, her eyes flicked toward Jaeger. After all, Jaeger had just slain Fukasaku and Shima—the elder Toad Sages who stood second only to the Great Toad Sage in Myōboku's hierarchy.
"Open it," Jaeger said casually, curiosity flashing in his eyes. "Let's see what happens when the scroll itself comes calling. This never even happened in the original story."
"Yes, Your Highness Jaeger!"
Reassured, Miyuki's heart steadied. To her, as long as Jaeger was here, nothing in this world could go wrong.
She unfurled the scroll—
At that moment, natural energy surged violently. A blazing column of light erupted like a laser from the parchment, aimed directly at Jaeger!
Smack!
Jaeger swatted it aside with one hand. The beam—dense with nature energy—ricocheted off, tearing through distant peaks. Entire mountains split and crumbled, the earth itself trembling.
"Not bad," Madara muttered, arms crossed, his expression grim with surprise. "That level of natural energy control… it's close to the Six Paths themselves."
"So it is that damned old toad!" Miyuki snapped, her pretty face dark. "Ugly thing must've foreseen the deaths of Fukasaku and Shima with its prophecy, and used my scroll to try and ambush His Highness!"
Her fury boiled over. "How dare it use me to sneak-attack my golden thigh! Unforgivable!"
Madara's eyes narrowed, recalling details from the memory copy. "The Great Toad Sage, Gamamaru… its foresight ability is indeed unique. And its strength is far beyond what I expected."
Indeed, in the records, the Great Toad Sage had lived since the era of Hagoromo and Hamura. It had even fought alongside them against Kaguya Ōtsutsuki for months on end.
Miyuki clenched her fists, rage burning. "Get rid of it! I'll reverse summon myself straight to Mount Myōboku, Susanoo blazing, and slaughter them all—"
"Enough."
Jaeger's voice cut cleanly through her fury, halting her in place.
"…Your Highness?" Miyuki blinked at him in shock.
Jaeger smirked, holding Utaha close with his left hand as his right hand reached forward, fingers digging into the fabric of space itself. With an effortless tug, reality tore apart like thin paper.
"Prediction, huh? I'm quite interested. And Miyuki—you're not its opponent. If it's bold enough to strike at me, then naturally…" His eyes flashed.
"That makes it my enemy."
Mount Myōboku
"Hmm…"
The Great Toad Sage, Gamamaru, shifted slightly. Its ancient body trembled as it sensed the backlash of its failed strike.
"So, my sudden blow failed? That man who killed Fukasaku and Shima is stronger than I thought…"
Still, it did not panic. As one who had lived for millennia, who had once stood shoulder to shoulder with the Sage of Six Paths himself, it carried an unshakable confidence.
Even if Hashirama and Madara returned, even if chaos erupted across the shinobi world, the Great Toad Sage believed itself capable of standing as savior again.
But then—
"…What?"
Its massive eyes lifted toward the heavens.
The eternal sky above Myōboku, unchanged for countless ages, suddenly cracked.
From the rift poured a suffocating black aura. Thunder as thick as mountains fell like a torrential rain, swallowing the sacred land of the toads in an instant.
