Chapter 56 - Chapter 55: (Bonus) Aokiji and Garp vs Akainu

South Sea — Unknown Island

Just like Esdeath's battlefield, this entire island and the surrounding sea had transformed into a frozen wasteland. Snow blanketed the land, and bitter cold clung to the air, thick as smoke.

On this icy stage, three titans clashed—every blow shaking the world.

"Great Eruption!"

"Galaxy Divide!"

BOOM!

A blazing fist of magma collided with an Armament Haki-wrapped punch. Garp's blow shattered Akainu's attack, sending the Admiral flying, molten flesh exploding in a wave of lava.

But for a Logia user, even that kind of hit was little more than an inconvenience.

"Garp!" Akainu's voice rumbled as his magma body reformed. "You dare disobey Saint Jaeger's orders to save the Pirate King's wife?"

Lava exploded from Akainu, a volcano set loose. He charged Garp—only to be stopped in his tracks by a sudden, brutal chill.

"Ice Age!"

Crack—! Stab—!

Ice swept instantly across Akainu, locking him down, steam hissing as magma and frost battled. In seconds, he was a statue of ice and rage.

On his own, he would have shattered free instantly—especially now, boosted by Jaeger's enchanted necklace. But this wasn't a fair fight.

And Garp…

Garp was the strongest man on the island.

"Brat! Take this—Blue Hole!"

With a roar, Garp grabbed the frozen Akainu and slammed him down with earth-shaking force.

BOOM!!!

The island split beneath them, cracks spreading like spiderwebs, sea rumbling, earth trembling. Akainu was driven straight through the island, vanishing into the earth.

"Akainu, Garp-san hasn't betrayed anyone!" Aokiji shouted, his voice pained. He knew Akainu wouldn't fall so easily. "The Pirate King's wife is innocent! Garp-san is only doing what's right!"

"You've fallen, Aokiji!!"

With a roar like a volcanic eruption, Akainu exploded out of the ground, bloodied but still burning. Magma surged, fire raging around his legs.

"The families of pirates are never innocent! Saint Jaeger is right! Your softness only brings suffering!"

"What kind of bullshit is that?!" Garp's eyes blazed. His muscles bulged, a war god incarnate.

"Calling the abuse of a poor pregnant woman justice? I'll beat some sense into you—and then deal with that damn Celestial Dragon myself!"

(T/N: Big talk, considering you let thousands of pregnant women die for Ace.)

BOOM!!

Ice, magma, and monstrous fists clashed again. The island beneath them collapsed, breaking apart under their titanic power.

Even as the land fell away, their battle raged on—spilling out across the frozen sea.

At a distance—

"Monsters… I can't even get close."

Momonga, den den mushi clutched in white-knuckled hands, stared at the chaos in horror. All he could do was pray.

Saint Jaeger… please send help.

Elsewhere

"Garp, Akainu, and Aokiji… fighting each other?"

Yamamoto Mei raised an eyebrow as Jaeger ended the call.

"That's something you never saw in the original story." She sounded genuinely intrigued. "You've changed One Piece's world completely."

Jaeger smiled, cold and unbothered. "After destroying that island and the Rose Kingdom, I'm probably a tumor in Garp's eyes."

His gaze sharpened, voice turning frosty. "Still, the old man's impatient. I wonder what sort of reward this chaos will bring me."

"Need my help?" Mei asked softly.

Jaeger nodded. "Bring Esdeath. Since Rayleigh escaped, she's probably bored anyway."

Mei grinned. "Even a battle-hungry sadist gets you excited? Your taste in women is something else, Jaeger."

She looked past him, smirked. "Speaking of—what about your new girlfriend?"

Not far away, Stussy was approaching with Rouge—clothed, but limp with exhaustion.

Seeing the battered, unconscious pregnant woman, Mei's smirk deepened with mockery.

"Really something, aren't you?" she thought.

"They say scumbags have inhuman stamina."

Jaeger didn't flinch. "Send her back to the Holy Land," he told Stussy. "Then contact Vegapunk. Tell him to create a serum that guarantees she gives birth to a daughter. Administer it to Rouge."

"…Huh?" Stussy blinked, dumbfounded.

"Didn't you hear my global broadcast?" Jaeger asked, acting surprised.

"Y-yes! Understood!"

Stussy's heart skipped. She remembered his words.

If it's a boy—kill it. If it's a girl, name her Nerona-Ann.

She thought he was joking.

But now…

He really means it? He actually hates sons that much?

(T/N: To be fair, with the number of webnovel dads getting cucked by their sons, maybe Jaeger's paranoia is justified.)

Stussy hesitated, glancing down.

Should I ask Vegapunk for a dose myself…? What if I'm already pregnant?

"Go," Jaeger said, waving her off, catching her confusion.

Jaeger opened the chat group.

Nerona Jaeger: "Esdeath, you're not hurt, are you?"

Esdeath: "Minor injuries. They don't affect my combat effectiveness."

Nerona Jaeger: "Good. Wait for me and Mei—we'll be there soon."

Esdeath: "Understood."

Nerona Jaeger: "Uchiha Miyuki, [picture]. Got a reminder from the group: I left a Noble Phantasm in Naruto World. Looks like 'Golden Hanzo' is dead. If you have time, check Rain Village. Figure out what happened. I'll reward you with a Devil Fruit."

Miyuki Uchiha: "A Devil Fruit!? I want the Slip-Slip Fruit! I'll give it to Mikoto—she'll be mine for sure after that!"

Miyuki Uchiha: "But Hanzo actually died? Even buffed by your Noble Phantasm, he should be super Kage-tier. Could Nagato have done it? Or… Madara?"

Nerona Jaeger: "Possible, depending on the timeline. But at this point, it's unlikely. That's why I need you to investigate. Something's not right."

(T/N: Guess who did it?)

Miyuki Uchiha: "Fine, fine~ I'll go visit my angel Konan too. Hehehe~"

For someone with Mangekyo Sharingan and Eight Gates, Miyuki didn't even consider danger. She accepted the mission with glee, already fantasizing about pretty women.

Outside the chat group…

"We're regrouping with Esdeath and heading to Akainu, right?"

Mei glanced at Jaeger, eyes sparkling.

"You can fly now. Wanna race?"

Jaeger gave her a blank look.

"You're going to lose."

"My speed and strength are above yours. You know that."

Mei rolled her eyes. "Then let's seal Hercules' belt and my Zanpakuto. Only outside powers allowed. Deal?"

"You sure those count as 'other' powers?"

"Absolutely."

She sealed Jaeger's most broken movement-type Noble Phantasm, already confident. Winning wasn't the point—she just wanted to see how fast he could fly.

"Fine," Jaeger shrugged, hands in his pockets. "Want to bet on it?"

"NOPE."

Mei's answer was immediate, expression horrified as she took a step back. As a seasoned reincarnator and anime veteran, she knew where these bets led.

"Huh? Why so jumpy?" Jaeger's brow twitched as he stepped forward.

"…Nothing! Let's just go!" Mei retreated again.

Her face flushed. She definitely wasn't remembering that bet with Luo Hao—the one that ended with sword-carved names on bare skin.

"Fine, no bet then."

Jaeger's signal dropped.

BOOM—

Mei vanished, reappearing in the sky thousands of meters away.

Shunpo, perfected to the point of teleportation.

"…He didn't move?" she muttered, scanning. "Is he waiting for a counter?"

That's when she saw it—Jaeger's pupils glimmered with divine light.

Right eye: the sun.

Left eye: the moon.

The Eye of Horus—sky god's divine treasure.

"Oh shit—no!"

She recognized the threat instantly.

The Eye of Horus didn't just block ranged attacks—it forbade flight.

Even reishi footing in the air counted.

"Get down—!"

Zzzzt—

Jaeger's eyes flashed. Gravity twisted.

SPLASH!

Mei plunged straight into the sea, soaking wet and absolutely fuming.

"In what world does using reishi in the air count as 'flying'!?"

Now cradled in Jaeger's arms mid-air, the drenched Shinigami beauty could only grumble.

First time she'd been grounded since becoming a Shinigami. Like forgetting how to use your own hands.

Never again.

Jaeger, still holding her, only smiled—slow and smug.

The Eye of Horus was even more broken than he'd thought.

Even Yamamoto Mei had been dropped like a stone. No counter. No appeal.

He flew at a leisurely pace, savoring the feel of her in his arms.

Shortly after, they landed near Esdeath.

"…Akainu was injured?" Jaeger asked, approaching two waiting Vice Admirals by the coast.

Doberman and Strawberry.

The moment they saw him, the two men started arguing.

"Vice Admiral Garp is loyal to the World Government!" Strawberry protested.

"But he and Aokiji attacked Akainu together!"

"They defied Jaeger-sama's orders!" Doberman spat, face cold.

Jaeger's face barely changed.

"Return to Navy HQ," he commanded. "Tell Sengoku… to prepare for his friend—or should I say, his brother's funeral."

"…Funeral!?"

The Vice Admirals froze.

The implication was chillingly clear.

Garp… would die.

Strawberry looked horrified—loyal, devoted to Sengoku, he knew Garp's death would destroy their entire faction.

Doberman, by contrast, was thrilled. With Garp gone, Akainu's path to Fleet Admiral was clear.

"Vice Admiral Garp is a hero!" Strawberry pleaded desperately, cigar falling from his mouth.

"He's bled for the Navy all his life!"

Jaeger's gaze turned to ice.

"…Questioning a Celestial Dragon's will—"

"Capital offense."

Shink—

In a blur, Jaeger's blade swept through Strawberry's neck.

Blood fountained onto Doberman, who stared in mute horror.

"Wha…"

He couldn't process what had just happened.

Jaeger calmly wiped his Noble Phantasm clean.

His voice was colder than the frozen sea.

"…Next time, know your place, fool."
