Chapter 58 - CRACK IN THE WOOD

The forest floor shook with each step the Ironfang Devourer took. Its tendrils thrashed violently, cracking roots and stones, sending debris flying toward Blade, Nyx, Cyberius, and Optimus_Prime.

Blade activated Tactical Awareness, the advanced visor flickering with predictive lines across the Devourer's movement. "Focus on the armor fissures. All attacks on weak points," he ordered. His left-right dual barrels spun, firing Exploding Bullets into the growing crack along the creature's flank. Each shot detonated precisely, forcing the massive beast to stagger slightly.

Nyx surged forward, spinning into a Blade Flurry, every strike calculated to exploit the exposed fissure. Sparks flew as steel met the barked armor. The creature roared, and its HP bar flickered, showing a sharp dip for the first time.

Cyberius twirled both revolvers in a rapid Revolver Barrage, bullets screaming into the same weak point. Then he executed Quick Draw, rolling back and firing from an unexpected angle, disrupting the creature's rhythm. The Devourer snapped a tendril, narrowly missing him but sending dirt and branches flying.

Optimus_Prime charged in, swinging his sword in a wide arc, then slamming his shield into a leg joint. The bark cracked further. Using Shield Slam, he staggered the Devourer slightly, then followed up with Sword Arc, cutting shallow grooves into its armored plating. One of the tendrils lashed at him, grazing his shoulder. Pain flared, but he pressed on.

Blade fired again, alternating left-right barrels, Exploding Bullets detonating along the cracks, forcing the creature backward. "Keep pressure!"

Nyx leapt into the air, spinning her sword with deadly precision. Her Swordmistress skill combo struck three points along the fissure simultaneously. The monster's bark splintered, exposing more of its red, pulsating inner flesh. The HP bar now showed a sharp decline, nearly halving from the initial reading.

The Devourer's eyes glowed, fury igniting. It lashed out wildly, hitting Optimus_Prime's shield and slamming Nyx into a tree. Cyberius rolled backward, firing Quick Draw mid-dodge. The ground cracked under the beast's weight, sending roots snapping toward Blade, who jumped back while continuing to fire Exploding Bullets.

Optimus slammed the creature's leg again, staggering it. "We hit hard enough, but it's not going down easily!"

Blade analyzed quickly. "All attacks now, max coordination. Target the fissure, ignore swings—pressure it until it's forced to expose vital areas.

Cyberius nodded. "Revolver Barrage—left and right barrels, full auto!"

Nyx channeled Blade Flurry again, spinning to hit the fissure from multiple angles. Sparks exploded from the impact, deep cracks forming across the armor.

The Devourer growled violently, its HP bar dipping dangerously low, now flashing red. It lashed, injuring Nyx and Optimus, sending both sliding back. Blade's visor marked the fastest strike pattern, firing Exploding Bullets precisely timed to counter the next tendril swipe.

Cyberius fired two bursts into the fissure as Optimus_Prime lunged, Sword Arc + Shield Slam in succession. Nyx's spinning blade pierced deeper, widening the crack. The HP bar plummeted rapidly, and the Devourer roared like a volcano erupting.

Blade, observing through Tactical Awareness, gave the final command: "All in—combined assault, synchronized!"

Nyx spun, Cyberius fired, Optimus struck, and Blade detonated left-right Exploding Bullets in perfect rhythm. The fissure widened drastically, bark shattered, revealing the full red core beneath. The Devourer staggered, its movements slower but still dangerous, growling furiously, its HP now dangerously low.

The forest trembled around them. Dust and debris clouded the air. Blade, keeping the Tactical Awareness active, scanned the environment. "It's weakened. One more coordinated strike."

Nyx, bleeding slightly, wiped her sword and nodded. Cyberius twirled his revolvers, ready. Optimus_Prime raised his shield, sword poised.

The Ironfang Devourer roared, swinging wildly, knocking both Nyx and Optimus back slightly. Blade fired a quick Exploding Bullet pair, keeping it off balance while the others moved in. The HP bar flashed rapidly—its vital core fully exposed, its armor cracked beyond repair.

Blade noted silently: "Armor failure almost complete. Damage potential maximal. Be ready for berserk response."

The fight was far from over, but the advantage had shifted. Their skills, teamwork, and relentless pressure had opened the beast to real harm. Its attacks were now unpredictable, striking anything close—forcing Nyx and Optimus_Prime to dodge sharply.

Cyberius smirked mid-roll, firing another Revolver Barrage. "This is insane… but it's working!"

Blade's eyes flickered through the visor, calculating next angles and threat levels. Tactical Awareness predicted the creature's next lunge, allowing him to adjust. The fissure widened further under combined assault, making it clear: the Devourer could no longer endure their full power without giving up its core.

The forest echoed with roars, metallic sparks, and gunfire. All four players fought with precision, skills blazing, aware that one misstep could cost them. Yet, amid the chaos, the synergy between them had begun to crystallize—blade, sword, guns, shield—each attack weaving into the next like a single, fluid entity.
