Chapter 568 - Chapter 568: Killing the Chicken to Warn the Monkeys

The First Tianzun had arrived! The crowd was first startled, then focused their attention on the black mist–shrouded figure that entered. In an instant, they recognized him—it was the First Tianzun of the Hall of Souls!

This man was a 2-Star Dou Saint powerhouse, his oppressive aura nearly identical to Yao Ming's. The pressure he exuded made everyone's hearts skip a beat as countless thoughts flashed through their minds.

So this was Yao Ming's so-called "plan"—the Hall of Souls' interference from the shadows. Every one of these ancient old beasts knew exactly what kind of force the Hall of Souls was. The Hall of Souls never acted without gain. If they appeared, it meant only one thing—they sought something in return. No one believed they'd help without profit, unless the sun rose from the west.

The black mist spread across the grand hall, then slowly dissipated, revealing the shriveled, shadowy figure beneath the robe. His faintly visible, withered face confirmed his identity—it was indeed the First Tianzun. Behind him stood over a dozen black-robed figures, each radiating auras between the early Dou Zun and late Dou Zun level—all Elders of the Hall of Souls.

Yao Ming rose to his feet, laughing boldly. "Hahaha! The First Tianzun honors us with his presence—please, take a seat."

The First Tianzun moved unhurriedly to the side, taking his place with casual arrogance. Among these so-called "leaders," only Yao Ming was worth a glance in his eyes. The rest? They were nothing more than cannon fodder to exhaust the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe—or perhaps future offerings for his Hall of Souls' collection of souls.

Once seated, an uneasy silence followed. Everyone exchanged wary looks. Who didn't know that the Hall of Souls was a pack of ravenous wolves? Partnering with them was like inviting a tiger into one's home.

Finally, a golden-haired elder broke the tension with a forced laugh. "So this 'strategy' Tribe Leader Yao Ming spoke of—is it merely to enlist the Hall of Souls? We seek freedom and equality, not another master. How is this any different from bowing to the Ancient Void Dragons?"

The First Tianzun cast him a sideways glance, his tone light but cutting. "Of course it's different. The dragons want to enslave you beasts, to make you kneel as servants. But the Hall of Souls—do you truly think we care to rule over the likes of you?"

The hall fell silent.

Everyone thought the same thing: 'That's not the issue. The problem is that if we die, you'll harvest our souls.'

At the head of the hall, Yao Ming swirled the wine in his cup, the faint smile curling at his lips betraying a trace of mockery. Raising the cup, he downed it in one gulp before laughing heartily. "Hahaha! There's no need to panic, everyone. I still have one final guest arriving soon. Once they come, you'll understand everything."

The crowd exchanged puzzled looks. Even the First Tianzun frowned slightly. If even he wasn't the final guest, then who could possibly warrant such mystery? Beneath his black hood, his brows furrowed tightly, a hint of unease flashing in his eyes.

Moments later, an immense, boundless aura descended from above—vast and immeasurable, suffocating in its power.

Everyone in the hall froze. Such a presence far surpassed their imagination. Even Yao Ming and the First Tianzun, both Dou Saints, paled in comparison. This newcomer's strength crushed them utterly.

Brilliant divine light flared outside the palace doors. From within it stepped a graceful figure—slender and radiant. Her every step was elegant, each movement exuding unparalleled grace. Yet no one dared harbor a single impure thought.

That overwhelming pressure emanated from her every pore. The very air trembled beneath her presence. Space itself warped and thickened, turning the hall into a sealed chamber where even tearing open the void was impossible.

As everyone stared in awe, Yao Ming hurriedly descended from his seat, bent deeply, and called out reverently, "Yao Ming greets the Dragon Emperor!"

The crowd: "…"

The First Tianzun: "..."

What kind of nonsense was this?!

Every beast leader gawked in disbelief. The same Yao Ming who'd been spouting speeches about freedom and resistance now groveled like a dog before this woman. Their hearts collectively cursed him to hell.

So the man with thick eyebrows and righteous airs was nothing more than a traitor after all! Not only had he betrayed them, he'd sold out the entire Beast Region—and dragged the Hall of Souls down with him!

Their gazes turned toward the radiant woman. She was tall and poised, her figure perfect, her violet hair cascading like a waterfall, her violet eyes gleaming like stars. Her beauty was both regal and untouchable, cold yet sacred.

Her ruby lips parted slightly as her calm voice spread through the hall. "Tribe Leader Yao Ming, no need for such formality. I will remember your contribution. The Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe will only grow stronger under your hand."

Yao Ming straightened, his face alight with feigned devotion. "Thank you, Dragon Emperor. I swear to serve faithfully—charging through fire and blood if you command it."

He stepped aside respectfully, clearing the path for Zi Yan to enter.

The gathered leaders and their subordinates were stunned speechless.

He had sold them out—completely. The one who had shouted "Beasts will never be slaves" was now groveling at the dragons' feet. Utter humiliation!

And there stood the First Tianzun, face dark as ink beneath his hood. His instincts had been right—this was no meeting, it was an ambush. Yao Ming, that treacherous bastard, had been working with the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe all along.

"Yao Ming," the Tianzun growled, his voice trembling with rage. "You'll regret this."

But Zi Yan's mere presence suppressed his fury. The aura radiating from her body rivaled that of the Hall Master himself—she was a 5-Star Dou Saint!

The First Tianzun gritted his teeth, forcing his voice low and respectful. "Dragon Emperor, this is all a misunderstanding. I shall take my leave for now. The Hall of Souls will remember your mercy—there will be generous repayment in time."

"Leaving so soon?" Zi Yan's voice rang out, sharp as lightning. She stepped forward, her violet eyes cold and domineering. "You accused the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe of seeking to enslave the Beast Region. You called the Hall of Souls its mortal enemy. Quite the misunderstanding indeed."

The oppressive force of a 5-Star Dou Saint crashed down on the Tianzun. His body trembled violently, every breath a battle.

When submission failed, his pride surged instead. Slowly, he lifted his head, revealing his twisted, skeletal face beneath the hood. "Do not go too far, Dragon Emperor. I am the First Tianzun of the Hall of Souls. If I die here today, your tribe will pay with its destruction!"

"How bold."

Zi Yan's laugh was cold and deadly. She raised her hand and struck the air casually. Ripples of force expanded outward like waves, unseen yet irresistible. When they reached the Tianzun, his body convulsed violently.

Pffft!

A mouthful of blood sprayed out as he was hurled across the hall. His black robe shredded, bones cracking like brittle wood. His aura withered instantly—he lay on the ground half-dead, barely breathing.

Zi Yan turned, her gaze sweeping over the stunned assembly. Her amethyst eyes gleamed with a cold, tyrannical light. Even the Dou Saints among them dared not meet her eyes; under that gaze, they could only bow their heads.

Her voice was calm, yet it carried unshakable authority, every word ringing with dominance.

"This emperor grants you three choices—submit, submit, or… submit."
