"Not good…"
Liu Xi frowned slightly, breathing a little heavily. The might of such a powerful Dou Technique couldn't be taken head-on. Even with a body comparable to a Magical Beast, no, even a true Magical Beast's body would shatter before that statue's destructive force.
Against such an ancient and deeply rooted tribe, Liu Xi's flaw was laid bare—he lacked a true, top-tier explosive technique. The Yellow Spring Divine Anger he had just acquired hadn't yet been cultivated, and a High-level Tian Class Dou Technique couldn't be mastered in mere days. Without a year or two of refinement, it was impossible to draw out its full power.
'Then there's only one option left…'
Liu Xi extended a finger. Dou Qi, Spiritual Power, and Heavenly Flame surged out from his body at frightening speed, converging before his fingertip. Once they met, the three forces reached a fragile but perfect balance.
Under their mutual compression, a tiny black dot — like a singularity — appeared at the tip of his finger. As the dark point expanded, it radiated an overwhelming aura, as though it could devour heaven and earth itself. Even the surrounding space began to twist under the force.
The black sphere grew, inch by inch, utterly silent. Nothing leaked from it — no aura, no energy — because everything within its reach, even breath itself, was being erased by its annihilating power.
This was Annihilation Finger, a Tian Class Dou Technique of Liu Xi's own creation — blending Dou Qi, Heavenly Flame, and Spiritual Power into one devastating strike. Anything unable to escape its pull would be reduced to nothingness.
But it still wasn't enough.
'Not enough! Then I'll compress it further!'
Driven by resolve, Liu Xi focused his mind, drawing on his Spiritual Power to guide the swirling black sphere. The miniature void began to spin, slowly at first, then faster and faster, its form distorting under the immense pressure. The front and back tapered into sharp points, its center drawn tighter and thinner, transforming from a sphere into an elongated oval.
Still it spun.
The speed became blinding, the shape ever more refined, until finally it was no longer a sphere at all — but a weapon.
What had been a ball of destruction was now a black spear, a war lance forged of pure annihilation. Its tip gleamed without light, and yet anyone who gazed upon it would feel their soul drawn in, trembling uncontrollably.
Liu Xi's spirit was drained to the limit, but his eyes shone brightly, fixed on the dark spear as though it were the most beautiful thing in the world.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A surge of monstrous Dou Qi came crashing down from above. That overwhelming flood of energy, capable of erasing a Dou Saint, transcended both space and time — and in an instant, it reached him.
Liu Xi's eyes snapped open. He clenched the black spear in both hands and hurled it with all his strength.
"Go!"
The ten-meter-tall golden giant threw a hundred-meter-long spear. The weapon turned into a streak of black light, slicing through the void and colliding with the riverlike torrent of Dou Qi.
Chss!
There was no explosion, no blast of wind, no cataclysmic roar. The spear simply pierced through, its faint glow erasing everything it touched. Space folded around it as it devoured the Dou Qi flood, tearing straight toward the enormous Demon Phoenix Holy Statue that loomed before him.
With a thunderous crack, the black spear slammed into the statue's beak.
Boom!
The massive effigy ruptured apart. From within, streaks of black light flickered — and instead of dispersing into waves of energy, the shattering Dou Qi was silently swallowed by that dark radiance until all was gone.
"What?!"
For the first time, Huang Tian's face changed drastically. The Demon Phoenix Holy Statue he had unleashed was shattered — by a mere 4-Star Dou Saint! His golden pupils widened, disbelief flooding his gaze.
"Hmph… no matter who you are, so you broke it once — but can you break it a second time?"
As a 5-Star Dou Saint, Huang Tian's Dou Qi was vast beyond imagination. Unwilling to accept it, he began condensing the statue again. Even across the distance, the pressure was enough to make Liu Xi's chest tighten painfully.
"Hahaha! Tribe Leader Huang Tian, you are indeed mighty — but your tribe is not as invincible as you think. You should look behind you!"
Liu Xi laughed loudly. His Dou Qi was nearly spent; another clash of that scale would exhaust him completely. Luckily, Qing Lin was dependable.
Huang Tian froze for a second, then turned sharply — and his expression twisted in rage. The elite force he had brought with him was half gone, the rest wounded and restrained by the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe's power.
And not just once — both First Elder Feng Huang and Second Elder Kun Huang had been captured. Feng Huang was unconscious, her injuries clearly severe. Kun Huang lay beside her, face purple and veins darkened — poisoned beyond recovery.
Aside from himself, the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe's only two remaining Dou Saints had fallen into enemy hands. Though Yao Ming and the others were injured as well, victory was already decided.
Had Elder Ying Huang, the third of the Heaven Demon Phoenix's triad, still lived, things might have been different — three Dou Saints against three, the battle would not have ended so one-sidedly.
But the world had no medicine for regret.
Even so, since they hadn't killed the two elders, Huang Tian knew the enemy must have plans for them. The pythons wouldn't waste such valuable hostages.
He clenched his fists, his golden eyes flashing coldly as he glared back at the towering golden giant. His voice came out like sharpened steel: "Speak. What will it take for you to release my tribe's two elders?"
Liu Xi smiled faintly. "I've already said it once, Tribe Leader Huang Tian. I only ask that you return to the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe and stop meddling in the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe's affairs."
"Otherwise, the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe will soon have only one Dou Saint left — you."
Huang Tian's face darkened. Between the potential Dragon Phoenix Origin Fruit and his two captured elders, he was caught between profit and loss. But the fruit wasn't yet in his grasp — sacrificing two Dou Saints for a chance at it was far too costly.
Liu Xi only shrugged, saying nothing further.
Silence fell across the battlefield. After a long and bitter struggle within himself, Huang Tian finally gritted his teeth and growled, "Release them. We'll withdraw at once."
Liu Xi smiled again, calm and deliberate. "Tribe Leader Huang Tian, your strength commands respect, but your word… not so much. To ensure everyone's safety, I think it's best that you leave first. Once you're gone, your elders will be returned safely."
"After all, being enemies with you brings me no benefit — don't you agree?"
"You—!"
Huang Tian's fury exploded. His eyes blazed as though they could incinerate the Void itself. It wasn't that he planned to keep his promise — but being openly distrusted enraged him nonetheless.
'I might not honor my word — but you don't get to call me a liar.'
"Fine!" he spat through clenched teeth. "I'll go!"
With a final glare at Feng Huang and Kun Huang, Huang Tian turned, becoming a golden streak of lightning as he tore back through the Void.
But as he raced homeward, his rage only festered. The longer he thought about it, the deeper his resentment grew. By the time he was halfway back, his expression had turned black as storm clouds.
"Hmph!"
A cold snort split the air. His golden eyes narrowed, and his aura abruptly condensed. In the next instant, his figure vanished again — turning sharply and speeding back toward the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe.
He wasn't done yet.
