Within Liu Xi's spiritual vision, a boundless and vast star region unfolded—its center occupied by an immense, serpentine dragon stretching endlessly into the horizon.
The colossal dragon's eyes were tightly shut, its body covered in deep violet-black scales. Around it coiled an eerie purple-black flame that radiated a sinister, ancient pressure.
"So this… must be the Three Thousand Burning Flame…"
Just as Liu Xi murmured to himself, an unfamiliar surge of Spiritual Power rippled through the void, followed by an angry roar echoing within his soul. "Who dares trespass into the Pill Tower's Star—"
Before the voice could finish, a wave of blistering heat erupted from deep within Liu Xi's spirit, instantly incinerating that invading spiritual presence into nothingness.
As silence returned, Liu Xi's gaze once more drifted toward the slumbering dragon, burning its image into his mind. Then, consciously, he guided his spirit back out of that celestial domain.
"Hmm? Who was that? Possessing not only a Spirit Realm soul but also a Heavenly Flame…"
The disembodied voice lingered in confusion within the void, the remains of its spiritual presence flickering uncertainly before dissipating.
Meanwhile, in Holy Pill City, Liu Xi suddenly opened his eyes within the quiet inn room. His breath came steady but his expression carried faint regret. Through the resonance between their origins, he had now pinpointed the exact location of the Three Thousand Burning Flame.
However, he couldn't hope to seize it now—not from within the Pill Tower's domain. He would have to bide his time and earn the right through the official Pill Gathering.
'If I could devour the Three Thousand Burning Flame now, I could break through to the Dou Zun Realm in one stroke… what a pity.'
Setting the thought aside, he resumed his cultivation. Within his inner world, the Ten Thousand Beast Flame's essence and accumulated might poured into him ceaselessly, nourishing both his soul and his Dou Qi.
Hours passed. When morning light finally crept into the room, Liu Xi opened his eyes again, their depths shining like twin stars. Stretching lazily, he sensed the surging transformation within himself. His Spiritual Power now stood at the peak of the Spirit Realm's early stage, and his Dou Qi had already advanced to 9-Star Dou Zong.
He rose lightly from the bed. "Almost there… Dou Zun is within reach."
At that moment, a cold yet composed voice drifted from outside the door—it was Xiao Yixian. "…I already said, my Young Master is in seclusion and must not be disturbed."
Liu Xi raised a brow. 'So early in the morning? Who would come looking for me?'
He stepped out of the room and followed the sound toward the hallway. At the staircase landing, Xiao Yixian stood gracefully in her white robes. When she saw him, a warm smile touched her lips.
"Young Master, you're awake."
Liu Xi returned the smile. "Mm."
As he reached the stairs and looked down, his eyes narrowed slightly.
Eight figures stood awkwardly below, their expressions strained. Several bore the aura of Dou Zong experts, and one among them—hidden toward the back—was unmistakably a Dou Zun.
Among them, Liu Xi immediately recognized three familiar faces—the Bai Clan members from yesterday.
"So it's the Bai Clan," he said lightly, a faintly mocking smile curving his lips. "What's this? Couldn't wait a single day to retaliate? Very well… I'll take you all on."
In an instant, his vast Spiritual Power surged outward, sweeping across the hallway like an invisible tidal wave. The overwhelming pressure crashed upon the Bai Clan envoys like a falling sky.
At the same time, Xiao Yixian's own Dou Zun aura erupted, her presence sharp and suffocating. From another corridor, Yao Tianhuo appeared in a flash, his fiery might expanding to fill the inn like a blazing storm.
The entire building quaked violently, walls shuddering as frightened guests screamed and fled in every direction.
Under the combined pressure of two Dou Zuns and Liu Xi's Spirit Realm soul, the Bai Clan members turned pale. Even the hidden Dou Zun among them trembled under the crushing weight.
The white-haired elder at their head could barely stand. His throat bobbed as he stammered, "W–Wait! Wait! Sir, please—spare us! I—I'm here to apologize! We've come to sincerely apologize!"
Faced with three overwhelming presences, every ounce of their courage had been stripped away.
Liu Xi's gaze slid toward the trembling Dou Zun hiding behind them, then shifted back to the leading elder. His tone was frigid. "An apology, you say? You bring a Dou Zun along and call that sincerity? Do you take me for a fool?"
Xiao Yixian added softly, "Young Master, when they first arrived, they were quite arrogant. It wasn't until I revealed my Dou Zun strength that they calmed down—and even then, they said they wanted to 'seek an explanation' from you."
Liu Xi's smile was razor-thin. "Then what explanation do you seek now?"
Before the Bai Clan could respond, a thunderous shout boomed through the air outside. The force of it rolled through the inn like a wave, sending ripples through the very space around them. "Stop this at once!"
A streak of light descended from the sky, halting abruptly in midair to reveal a black-robed elder with solemn eyes.
Upon seeing him, the Bai Clan's elder brightened instantly. "Elder Qiu! Elder Qiu, it's me—Bai Jiu, Grand Elder of the Bai Clan!"
Elder Qiu's face remained impassive as he floated above them. His sharp gaze swept over the Bai Clan before resting on Liu Xi's group, his tone grave.
"Gentlemen, please—enough. Whatever grievances exist, the Pill Tower will ensure justice. There will be no favoritism."
"Is that so?" Liu Xi's voice was calm, though his eyes glinted faintly. With a small wave of his hand, he recalled his Spiritual Power, signaling Xiao Yixian and Yao Tianhuo to do the same.
He wouldn't act rashly within Holy Pill City—not before seeing how this Elder Qiu handled matters.
The Bai Clan's Grand Elder exhaled in visible relief, though his face quickly tightened again as Liu Xi's cold gaze fell upon him. Against such forces—a Spirit Realm soul and two Dou Zuns—the Bai Clan was utterly powerless.
If not for the Pill Tower's intervention, they might already be dust. The old man silently cursed that foolish Elder a hundred times over.
Forcing a smile, he cupped his hands respectfully.
"Elder Qiu, this is all a misunderstanding—a complete misunderstanding. The elder of our clan offended this gentleman yesterday. I came today to apologize, but it seems my timing was… unfortunate."
Elder Qiu's expression was stern. He already knew the details—how the Bai Clan Elder had provoked Liu Xi repeatedly and brought the disaster upon herself.
"Then let me speak plainly," Elder Qiu said. "Since this is all a misunderstanding, I ask both sides to give the Pill Tower some face. Here in Holy Pill City, let us resolve this peacefully. What say you both?"
Liu Xi raised an eyebrow. The Bai Clan elder had indeed learned to bow quickly when necessary—cunning enough to admit defeat and borrow the Pill Tower's authority to retreat safely.
If Liu Xi pressed further now, it would only make him seem unreasonable.
He gave a faint smile and nodded. "Since Elder Qiu says so, I'll let it go. But as for shaking hands and pretending friendship—let's not go that far."
