Cross's expression shifted to a frown as he stepped forward, causing Kreios to push Renzille further behind and take a step back.
"My lady.. I merely wish to have a short moment with you." The wolf beastman whimpered, his ears flattening against his ears. "I will give you my word that it won't take too long."
His tone took on a pleading turn, as if he were a child seeking permission from a stern parent.
Renzille raised an eyebrow, her face devoid of emotion— a mask of indifference and disinterest, hiding the conflicted emotions stirring deep inside her.
Her eyes flicked from Cross to Kreios, silently seeking reassurance from her husband, for she had no desire to be left alone with this treacherous wolf.
Kreios grunted, as if giving Renzille an answer.
"I have made myself clear." She stated, her voice leaving no room for negotiation, her body relaxing with the sense of relief washing over her.
