Chapter 87 - Chapter 81

"Yaoyorozu Momo, are you here alone today?"

Principal Nezu pulled out another form.

The elegant girl before him was also a recommended student completing admission paperwork.

"My father's busy with company matters. And I'm old enough to handle this myself," Momo answered with a polite smile.

Her manners carried the grace of a refined young lady, and her gentle expression had a disarming charm.

"Um… may I ask something?"

Momo noticed Lock staring at her and tilted her head in confusion.

Lock wasn't embarrassed. He asked directly:

"My name is Lock. I remember a major conglomerate whose chairman is also named Yaoyorozu. Any relation?"

"He's my father."

She admitted it calmly—fitting for a girl raised in wealth, yet without arrogance.

Yaoyorozu Momo.

Her Quirk: Creation — the ability to generate any nonliving object from her own fat.

A Quirk practically made for geniuses…

and a dream ability for countless girls, since fat could simply be burned through Quirk use.

"My agency is in a building owned by your father's conglomerate," Lock said with a relaxed smile.

"I'm planning to visit him soon for business discussions."

Investment.The

Yaoyorozu Group was one of the richest forces in Japan.

Lock needed three things:

Funding to expand the Fairy Tail Hero Agency.

Property support for future growth.

A powerful partner to help popularize magic across society.

And the Yaoyorozu Group was perfect.

"Are you the one who became a Pro Hero in second-year middle school? The mage-type Hero?"

Momo's eyes widened slightly. For all her maturity, she was still a newly graduated junior high student.

"That's me."

Her father had spoken highly of Lock, thinking about investing in his agency.

But he was still observing.

Lock was the "child of another family," the kind parents praised endlessly.

"Well then, I'll take my leave."

Lock didn't linger.

This meeting would naturally reach her father's ears.

And once it did, the Yaoyorozu Conglomerate would likely contact him within days.

Leaving the office, Lock headed to the surveillance room.

Principal Nezu had long since introduced him to U.A.'s teachers, so nobody was surprised when he entered.

Still, Lock couldn't help feeling nervous.

Kyoka would definitely pass—But he wanted to see it with his own eyes.

The practical exam had begun.

The screens showed examinees running across the mock city, robots patrolling everywhere.

Just as Lock expected, the exam format hadn't changed.

Kyoka appeared on one of the monitors—

still slightly nervous as she searched for robots.

She needed at least 60 points to pass.

Suddenly, a robot lunged at her.

Kyoka reacted instantly, sidestepping with a light jump.

Her Earphone Jack darted into a gap in the robot's metal plating—

BOOM!

The robot shredded from the inside out, collapsing with smoke pouring from its joints.

One point.

Simple.

Lock exhaled quietly in relief.

Kyoka seemed to relax too as she found her rhythm.

Before long:

Ten robots…

Thirty robots…

Each one fell in seconds—

As soon as Kyoka's Earphone Jack connected, the internal systems overloaded and melted.

The teachers in the surveillance room murmured in surprise.

Then, the ground on-screen trembled—

as if an earthquake struck the test site.

The Zero-Point Giant Robot emerged.

More than 50 meters tall—

towering over the surrounding buildings.

A colossus that couldn't be defeated by normal means.

And worth 0 points.

Most examinees fled in terror.

Those who hadn't yet scored enough panicked—

But staying meant courting death.

Others simply collapsed.

Not out of cowardice—

But because human instinct fears overwhelming danger,

and the crushing presence of the colossus amplified terror several-fold.

Only two people charged toward the robot:

One was Izuku Midoriya, having inherited One For All—

Rushing to save a girl who had fallen.

The other—

Jiro Kyoka.

She had already passed the 60-point threshold…

But remembered Lock's words:

Aim for 100 points.

More than a score—

It was an attitude.

Kyoka wanted to know her limits.

How far her strength had reached.

She slid straight to the giant robot's base—

Despite its intimidating size, the Zero-Pointer's movements were sluggish.

Its sensors took too long to react compared to human instincts.

Kyoka drove her Earphone Jack into a metal seam.

Sonic blast!

Golden lightning erupted from her body—

flowing along the jack into the interior of the robot.

A strike of lightning magic.

On the monitors, arcs of electricity danced across the giant's frame.

Arms. Legs. Core.

Everything locked up instantly.

The robot convulsed violently—

Its internal circuits are burning out one by one.

BZZZT—!

BOOOOOOM!!

Though silent through the screens, teachers instinctively heard the explosion in their minds.

The Zero-Pointer burst apart—

shattering into thousands of metal fragments, raining across the entire arena.

The room fell silent.

Shock spread across every teacher's face.

Lock looked calmly at the monitors—Butt deep inside, satisfaction burned.

This was only the first step—

A preview of the future:

A world where magic would be known by all.

A heaven of magic.
