Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A God's First Steps

Guards rushed into the room. Their armor clanked as they formed a protective circle around my crib. The scared maid was crying, pointing at the destroyed wall.

"The wall! It just exploded! Someone attacked the princes!"

The Queen—my new mother—ran in, her face pale with fear. She swept me up into her arms, holding me close.

"How did this happen? Were you both sleeping?" she asked, her voice shaking. She looked at the hole in the wall. "Someone has tried to assassinate my sons!"

So that's what they thought. An assassination attempt. They were looking for a villain, not a baby god testing his powers.

The room was getting crowded and loud. If I didn't do something, they would never leave.

It was time to end this.

I focused my will. Not on a big, destructive fireball, but on a small, controlled one. A tiny sun, perfect and balanced, bloomed above my open palm.

Then I spoke loudly for a baby. "Gooogooogaga!"

Every head turned. Every eye locked onto the ball of fire hovering in the hand of a baby not even a day old.

The fireball changed. It became a swirling orb of water. Then a miniature tornado. Then a floating stone. Finally, a crackling ball of lightning. I cycled through the elements like it was a game.

The fear in the room vanished, replaced by pure, stunned awe. They weren't watching a threat; they were watching a miracle.

One guard fell to his knees. "Congratulations, Your Highness! A magic genius has been born in our family!"

The commotion settled after that. But my mother's worry didn't fade. Later, she took me to see the Royal Court Mage, an old man named Moondust.

"Sir Moondust," my mother began, her voice tight. "I should be happy, but this is... concerning. How can a baby have so many magic attributes?"

Moondust stroked his long beard. "It is strange. Even my own daughter, Seraphine, is called a genius, and she has only two attributes. The greatest mages in history had three. But to have all of them..." He looked at me with deep curiosity. "We should check his mana potential."

My mother nodded. "Please, I need your help to understand his future."

Moondust brought out a clear crystal ball meant to measure mana. "Just place his hand on it," he instructed.

My mother gently pressed my tiny index finger against the crystal.

The moment I touched it, the ball cracked with a loud *POP!* Then it shattered into a thousand pieces.

Moondust jumped back, shocked. "Impossible! Let's try a bigger one."

He brought out another device. It broke. And the next one. And the next. I broke eight of them in total.

My mother was confused. "Why are they breaking? Does he not have any mana?"

"It's not that he doesn't have it," Moondust whispered, his eyes wide with disbelief. "It's that the world cannot give him enough. His capacity... it's infinite."

"Infinite mana?" my mother gasped. "Then... isn't he like... the Primordial God?"

Moondust nodded slowly, his face full of reverence. "Yes. The Origin God of Magic. The one who, the legends say, used his divine power to bless our kingdom alone with the gift of magic."

I almost laughed. *When did I do that?* If the whole world had worshipped me, the whole world would be full of magic. These humans were making up their own stories.

But it wasn't like I could tell them the truth.

The days turned into months, and the months into years. Kron and I spent our time designing our plans. Our big brother, Cassian, doted on us every day, always checking if we were safe and happy. I slowly learned more about this world.

Now, I am five years old.

Today was a big day. For the first time, I was leaving the palace. It was just a trip to buy fancy clothes for mine and Kron's fifth birthday banquet, but it was my first time going out into a crowd of humans.

"So, why are you here?" I asked Kron as we stood by the palace gates.

He smirked. "Same reason as you. We're twins, did you forget? Even if I used my power to change my face and hair color a little, we're still twins."

"Alright, alright," I said.

"Get in the carriage, you two!" our mother called from behind.

We climbed into the royal carriage. It was extravagant, for sure. Three more carriages full of soldiers followed behind us for protection.

Kron smirked again. "See? This is the power of money and a strong reputation."

"You think I care about that?" I said, but I was already looking out the window.

We saw the outside world for the first time. Even though I am the Arcane Mage, I had to admit it... this world was magical.

I saw real magicians. They were rare, and they didn't use magic for small, everyday things. I saw students from the royal magic institute walking together in groups. We arrived at the clothing shop, bought our fancy clothes, and started our journey back.

As the carriage rolled on, I thought to myself: *If I had more divine power, the whole world would be using magic for everything. For eating, for washing clothes... for all the small things.*

But this world... it was not so bad.

Kron seemed to sense my thoughts. He patted my back softly, a quiet way of cheering me up.

I looked at him. "It's started now, partner."

He nodded, a real smile on his face. "Yes, partner."

We said it together, our voices in sync, announcing the true beginning of our great adventure.

"OUR NEW LIFE AS A HUMAN."
