Chapter 3 - The Ritual

Stephen knocked on the basement door. No answer. But he heard noises inside.

"Best not to disturb them, Master Stephen." Alfred said.

Stephen couldn't believe it. They needed to extract information from Sally and Damien was busy banging her in the basement of all places.

He shoced the door open to look at Damien's naked ass.

"Oh, is that you, Stephen?" Damien asked without looking at his younger brother. "I'll just be a few second or, woah!"

He quickly pulled up his pants. Stephen noticed blood smeared across the kneeling Sally's face.

"Did you just get a-"

"Blood-job, yes." Damien interrupted then patted Stephen on the shoulder.

"We were supposed to get information out of her."

"I already have." Damien smirked. "Time for a road trip."

Damien parked the classic Chevrolet Camaro in the driveway of a huge mansion which looked older than the brothers'.

"Are you sure this is the place?" Stephen asked getting out of the car.

"Doesn't it seem obvious?" Damien said sarcastically.

Damien knocked on the door thrice but no response. He exchangled glances with Stephen before kicking the door open. They were welcomed by old furniture, and cobwebs, and dust.

"Okay, no one currently lives here, that's for sure." Stephen said.

Damien cupped his hands alongside his mouth. "Hello!"

Suddenly, from the attic, eyes awoke from a creature resting in a coffin.

Stephen and Damien were scoping out the place when footsteps starting falling on the main stairway.

"Who are you two interlopers?" A 40-something-year-old man wearing an expensive but classic-looking suit asked them.

"Seems like this house is deserted." Damien said. "You're an interloper too."

All of a sudden, the suited stranger was in front of Damien. "Don't make me repeat myself."

"I recognize you." Stephen said.

The stranger turned his attention to the younger brother.

Stephen's thoughts turned to 100 years ago when Jenna was being burned at the pyre. A young boy was crying.

"Elliot." Stephen said.

Damien's mouth opened but he could not speak in shock.

"How are you still alive?" Stephen asked.

"I could ask the same from both of you?" Elliot smirked. "I know that I must take revenge for Jenna's death. Right here. Right now."

Damien punched Elliot in the face before he could make a move. Elliot didn't even flinch.

Stephen kicked Elliot in the back. The same result.

The three of them started exchanging blows but Elliot was clearly stronger than both of the brothers combined.

"He's not a werewolf." Damien commented shielding himself from Elliot's attacks.

"Worse." Stephen said doing the same. "He's a vampire."

Then they both got an idea.

Stephen distracted Elliot while Damien pulled a chunk of the wooden handrail from the staircase. Both brothers shoved the makeshift stake into Elliot's heart and he was lifted from the ground and planted on the wall adjacent to the front door.

His skin turned grey and he went dead with his eyes opened in horror.

"Ha!" Damien exclaimed rubbing both of his hands.

"Great." Stephen said. "We were supposed to find out where Jenna is from him."

Damien patted his younger brother's shoulder. "We have other ways."

The brothers left the mansion and the rotting corpse. A few minutes later, Elliot awoke with a gasp.

Helena, her new boyfriend, her two best friends and her boyfriend's brother were seated at a table in a cafe popular with college-goers.

"So, are you single?" Ray asked Damien.

Damien turned his attention to Priya. "Depends on who's asking."

Priya blushed. Helena felt jealous.

Suddenly, somebody took the one vacant seat near their table.

"Hello, there."

It was Elliot.

The brothers were about to get up when Elliot motioned them to sit and they followed his instruction.

"I'm not here to fight." Elliot said. "I'm here to make a deal."

"Continue." Stephen said with his fists clenched but hidden under the table.

"I need a hybrid and a human witch to perform a ritual tonight during the full moonl." Elliot explained. "This is to resurrect my older brother, the original vampire, Kyle."

Everybody gasped. They were more confused than scared.

"Hybrd. Witch. Vampire." Ray said. "What is this dude on?"

"Where will we find a human witch so soon?" Damien asked Elliot.

Elliot smiled at Priya.

Now, the friends' attention was on Priya who said, "Yes, I've been hiding that I'm a witch, just like you all have been hiding that you're werewolves.'

"There's werewolves too." Ray said in confusion.

The rest of the gang told him to shush.

"Okay, in exchange for what?" Stephen asked.

"I'll help you find Jenna and kill her." Elliot answered.

There was a brief silence before Damien said, "But you're her brother."

"She betrayed our vampire clan." Elliot explained. "She put Kyle in a magical coma. I need him arisen tonight. I promise I will hold up my end of the bargain."

It was close to the full moon. It was a cold night and the chill in the air was not the only cold thing bugging the friends. Helena stood with Priya while the wolf brothers stood alongside each other some distance away.

Even though it was 100 years ago, both Stephen and Damien remembered this was the forest where they had both made love to Jenna.

"You could've told me." Helena said to Priya.

Priya scoffed. "You could've told me first. Instead I picked up on your supernatural soul when we first met in high school."

"Silence." Elliot had arrived.

Elliot used a chalk to draw two circles near the girls. He motioned each of them to occupy one of the circles. They did as they were instructed.

"Where's your brother's coffin?" Stephen asked Elliot.

Elliot motioned to the ground beneath where Stephen and Damien stood. The brothers gasped and walked away.

"Woah, that was creepy!" Damien commented.

"The full moon is almost forming." Elliot announced and took out an ancient-looking dagger.

He took hold of Helena's hand and slashed it gently. The blood poured into the ground inside the circle.

Elliot glanced at Priya who started chanting an incantation in Latin.

Helena had never seen her best friend in the state that she was in. It was like she had become another person.

The ground near the wolf brothers caved in and a coffin arose as if guided by an invisible lever. It remained upon the surface of the ground. It opened up automatically and therein lay Kyle's body. The skin was grey and the clothing was at least a century old.

Priya stopped chanting and Kyle's eyes opened all of a sudden. He gasped for air as if taking a breath after a century.

"It's fine, brother." Elliot rushed to his side and put his hand on Kyle's chest. "You are back."

Elliot embraced his older brother. Kyle returned the hug but he was also surprised by the onlookers.

"Werewolves?" Kyle asked.

Elliot nodded.

Kyle got up from the coffin. He unveiled his fangs and rushed at the two wolf brothers.

"Kyle, wait!" Elliot yelled.
