Chapter 3 - A New Home, A New Universe and A Galaxy Far, Far, Away

"we have found something. Drecarios Frost is the twin brother of one Emma Frost, the new Matriarch of the Frost family and Frost International. The internet speculates that Hammer industries has surreptitiously assassinated the head of house and his eldest daughter to ensure that their corner of the weapons market and your own previous corner is theirs. That is pure speculation however and no evidence had conclusively stated Hammer Industry's involvement."

Tony blinked a few times before setting his glass down, his hands hitting the holographic display before Jarvis could even explain further, several news articles emerging with alacrity.

"Intriguing... If the multiverse theory is to be believed then it would be a very low chance that this Drecarios is the same as the chat's."

Jarvis picked up from that thought... "The chance, based upon preliminary estimates, is less than a tenth of a percent, sir."

"J, I want you to call Pepper and see if I can get an interview with this Emma Frost and Drecarios Frost. I'd like to see him personally."

"I have already taken the initiative to contact Ms. Potts, she is currently in a board meeting and has asked me to inform you that she will be here in less than half an hour." Tony waved him off and walked over to his completed arc reactor.

"That's fine, I have a new engine to put on anyway."

I awoke to the limo braking, shade smothering the opulently adorned car. Looking out of the window I noted a large steel gate that my new memories remembered in odious detail. When this version of me had acted up as a child his father had punished him by making him polish the steel along the gates, a useless job since the gardeners and maintenance teams around the family compound ensured it was perfectly polished.

This version of me hated his father. Not just because of the punishment, though that was hilariously towards the top of my memories, it was the way he treated my sisters as bargaining chips and me merely as a stud horse to birth new Frosts. If anyone from the modern era could be said to have a noble-like attitude, it was our father. I sniffed in mild disdain as I attempted to separate who I viewed as my father; eventually coming to the view that last life's father was much better.

"Sir, the mistress is in the main study, waiting for you." Jim spoke through the limo's intercom as the gate opened wide, the security personnel moving alongside it with their assault rifles in standby.

"Thank you Jim, please take us in gently and inform the butler that I shall be heading there promptly." There was a small glitch of noise to confirm that he had received the orders before silence consumed the space once more. I was getting accustomed to long stretched periods of quiet at this stage and it even gave me some strange sense of comfort.

It would never last however as the limo eventually stopped and I had to step out and head inside. Fortunately for me the weather was rather nice for a winter night in New York. There was no ungodly amounts of snow pouring from the sky nor were there any smattering rain drops that seemed to hound the city sometimes. It was crisp and clear. The manor was in much the same state of cleanliness to say the least as the dark oak exterior was decorated with varying amounts of Christmas decorations. Emma was always one for Christmas, for some odd reason.

If the outside was an absolute smorgasbord of decorations and festivity; ranging from trees, Christmas lights and Santa models, then the inside could be compared to a comfy cabin in the middle of the woods. Emma's kindness and love was already changing this place.

Striding deeper and up the stairs I idly noticed that all of the fireplaces were alight and around each of them stockings hung in reds, greens and whites. Shaking my head I finished climbing the U-shaped staircase. Walking to the end of the hallway I knocked on a heavy wooden door, waiting a few seconds, before stepping inside.

What awaited me was the steely-faced Emma, her piercing blue eyes attempting to pin me to my spot. Beside her was a woman with vibrant orange hair, her irises a rich gold-silver.

"Brother, stay still. This will only take a moment." Her eyes glowed ominously towards me.

I gulped a touch as I felt pin pricks at the back of my mind. The orange-haired woman sauntered up to me with her hips flaring out in a seductive gait. I didn't know what her powers were but whatever they did it was causing my neck to feel strangled once more... As if I was being garrotted once more by my dear sister. Grimacing in anger and a touch of fear I manipulated the molecules within my suit to become spears and then introduced some velocity to launch them forwards at the two women; stopping just before their throats.

"ENOUGH! I am sick of feeling death's grip this night! Either cease your pathetic attempts at security or face my wrath."

The orange-haired beauty flinched backwards and stumbled into her previous position whilst Emma grinned menacingly. She knew it was me, the bitch, she just wanted to see me lose my shit.

"You done having your version of fun twin sister or do you want me to convert your entire office into sulfuric bricks?" She secretly pouted with a small twitch of her lips before her emotionless voice resounded through the room.

"Fine." She inclined her head to the women beside her. "This is Amelia, she has the ability to heal wounds, bruises, broken bones and a plethora of other maladies. You requested a doctor, I got you one." I smiled at her.

"Thank you, sister." I winked at this Amelia, watching her blush a touch before calm settled back into her face. "Ms. Amelia I would be most happy if you could remove the bruising around my neck?" A pert nod followed my request, her pace quick and her powers even faster as she got to work on my neck. Emma watched me as I winced and groaned in pain in all the appropriate places, her eyes tracking her friend's work.

I had to give a 10 out of 10 review for this Amelia, she certainly knew how to make a man feel better. Hah, I'd say that was one of my worse jokes... Which I should be excused from making since I was running on fumes at this stage.

She backed away casually with the only sign she had consumed energy being a small exhale of breath when she first stepped back. Feeling my neck I sighed in relief, feeling the urge to slump into one of the plush upholstered chairs that my sister seemed to love so much. I attempted to fight the urge but failed monstrously as my exhaustion automatically guided me to the comfortable seat.

After sitting I exhaled my aches and pains, languidly observing my twin. She was drop dead gorgeous, dressed in a body-perfect cyan dress with shining diamonds sown into the hem and collar. Her milky white skin seemed to reflect the same quality only to be accentuated further by the crisp platinum blonde hair that delicately flowed down her back. Many would consider her an angel, I knew better... She was a manic pixy with a propensity for chaos that would see even Loki blushing. Stealth was just natural to her at this stage, meaning she could hide it from most people.

"Okay, you got me here, lay it on me." She cocked an eyebrow at my tired tone.

"Technically you are the heir to the estate brother, so it is you who decides." I guffawed at her cute use of misdirection.

"Mhm and you know, that I know, that you are a genius in business management and the economy. I'll give up my patriarch position just so you could take over, you know this... So long as I have money and can do what I want, I don't really give a fuck."

Amelia tensed her jaws and looked at Emma from the corner of her eyes, a curious movement for a woman who was just supposed to heal me... Unless she was here for another reason... I narrowed my eyes at my twin.

"Yes, so eloquently put brother." Her voice returned to her sarcastic dryness. "But we are not here to discuss those things," she held up a hand to stop me speaking over her, "right now." Amelia's eye twitched when Emma mentioned a discussion.

"What we are discussing is your position within the Hellfire club." I stared her dead in the eyes.

"What do you want from me sister. It's obvious you're not going to give me a choice in this matter." Her mask cracked just a smidge and I saw the raw, vulnerable, flesh of her psyche.

"Shaw has demanded that I either become his queen or find someone to contribute to the 'cause', so to speak. I find myself with a lack of allies at the present moment and thus, we are here."

I cut to the chase. "You want me to become a chess piece on this maniac's board." Emma's nose twitched, a sure sign that her anger was bubbling to the surface.

"I am without options. It is either I ask you, who can obviously defend himself, or I bring Amelia into the fold and risk her life and my own to attempt to appease a madman."

I sat there for a minute or two just contemplating my position. There was no move I could make politically, economically or surreptitiously to cease Shaw's interest in my sister. The only way to protect her would be to entrench myself in this farcical boys' club so that I may be capable of defending my twin sister. At the end of the day, there was only one choice to make...

"Do it. Make me a piece. I will not draw in a defenceless woman or man into our mess. If you need defending then I'll step up and do it... You just have to make sure that I am always with you at these meetings."

A bright sunshine smile burst forth on her face as she rounded the table and hugged me quite passionately.

"Thank you! Thank you...!" Wrapping my arms around her I smirked towards Amelia who was now crying a little. It was obvious now that Emma had psychically forced her to cooperate.

"No problem dear sister. What are brother's for?" She smacked my arm lightly before pulling back. This family was definitely changing, now all it needed was a push to feel downright familial.

...

As Drecarios was reflecting on his day inside his quarters, in a galaxy far far away, on a world called Yavin IV a Jedi Master was meditating.

It had been years since the end of the Galactic Empire and the Jedi order was finally restoring itself, with his guidance and Mara Jade's, His wife. Once a sith assassin, she had been converted by him back to the light side of the force, her beauty and genius finally directed away from the malice and hatred of the dark side of the force.

She, out of all the reformed sith, was the most effective is connecting with the light side of the force. Her healing could mend people like the Jedi of the Old Republic used to do commonly. She trained constantly to master herself and her lightsaber further. Besides all those blessings she was the perfect mother. And he'd like to think he was a perfect father, not that he'd be impartial in that view...

Oh yes, the Jedi were no longer cut off from their emotions like the arrogant Jedi during his father's time... No, cutting off emotion was not the way to understand the light-side of the force. To truly become one with it you had to immerse yourself in positive emotions, emotions of love, empathy, patience, honesty and temperance. Mara Jade, his wife, was tremendously powerful in this form of connection... In many ways they were true equals in power, not that he'd ever admit that openly to her since it was a stalking horse for all sorts of fun... His mind was wandering, but that was fine, so long as it wandered in a positive direction he did not mind.

"Curious... Something that the force is struggling to comprehend." He reached out with his mind, binding himself to the living and eternal force all to connect to this entity, whatever it was.
