In the middle of setting up her field, Youmi suddenly asked Johnson. She wasn't expecting a real answer—it was just dull to perform all this setup alone, and she wanted a bit of small talk to pass the time.
"What's that?"
Johnson wasn't exactly a professional duelist. If Seto Kaiba hadn't been so deeply obsessed with Duel Monsters, Johnson probably wouldn't have chosen this method to take revenge. "There's no such card in KaibaCorp's database."
Well, he was about to find out.
"How fortunate for you. You'll get to see something quite close to it very soon~"
Another glowing Link circuit appeared behind Youmi as [Link Spider] and [Mekk-Knight Blue Sky] flew into it, forming an infinity-shaped pattern. "Materials: two monsters, including a [Mekk-Knight] monster! I use [Link Spider] and [Blue Sky] to Link Summon Link-2—[Mekk-Knight Spectrum Supreme]!"
Once the Link Summon succeeded, Youmi discarded a card from her hand and activated [Mekk-Knight Spectrum Supreme]'s effect. "When this card is Link Summoned, I can discard one [Mekk-Knight] monster or one [World Legacy] card to add a [World Legacy] card from my Deck to my hand. I discard [Mekk-Knight Red Moon] to add [World Legacy's Memory]!"
At once, thereafter, she activated the newly added Spell. A stream of golden light crystals formed behind her.
"I activate [World Legacy's Memory]! I Special Summon [Mekk-Knight Yellow Star] from my Deck in Defense Position.
"For the rest of this turn, I can only Special Summon [Mekk-Knight] monsters, and this one returns to my hand during the End Phase. Then, I'll immediately use [Spectrum Supreme] and [Yellow Star] as Link Material! In the Extra Monster Zone opposite Zone 4—Link Summon, Link-3, [Mekk-Knight Spectrum Supreme]!"
"From my hand, I Special Summon [Mekk-Knight Purple Nightfall] to a zone [Spectrum Supreme] points to! [Spectrum Supreme]'s effect activates—I send [Purple Nightfall] in the same column to the Graveyard and Special Summon [Mekk-Knight Orange Sunset] in Defense Position from my Deck.
"That makes seven already, but… just one more to perfect it."
Youmi looked over her field, wanting the setup to be flawless. "I activate [Foolish Burial], sending [Mekk-Knight Green Horizon] from my Deck to the Graveyard. Now—the seven colors unite once again!"
Seven radiant crystals orbited around her, merging into seven brilliant beams of light. At the same time, the towering [Mekk-Knight Spectrum Supreme] tore through the ground, rising upward.
"When seven vivid lights converge, the most dazzling radiance descends upon the world—[World Legacy's Scars] activates! I banish one of each of the eight [Mekk-Knight] monsters from my field and Graveyard to activate this effect: send all cards in your hand and Extra Deck to the Graveyard!"
Youmi smiled and lightly tapped one of the crystals at her side. "I banish [Mekk-Knight Red Moon], [Mekk-Knight Orange Sunset], [Mekk-Knight Yellow Star], [Mekk-Knight Green Horizon], [Mekk-Knight Indigo Eclipse], [Mekk-Knight Blue Sky], [Mekk-Knight Purple Nightfall], and [Mekk-Knight Spectrum Supreme]—vanish!"
Seven colors fused into a blinding white beam that crashed into Johnson. The five cards in his hand disintegrated into motes of light, and fifteen dull cracks echoed as his Extra Deck was obliterated.
"Ughhhhh!" Although his Life Points remained untouched, the overwhelming light sent a shock through him. The massive [Judge Man] reeled backward, collapsing before struggling to rise again. "My hand—my Extra Deck! So that's why you built up all that…
"But don't think you can finish me that easily! I activate my Deck Master ability! I pay 1000 LP to banish all your monsters—then inflict 500 damage for each! I banish [Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight] and [Mekk-Knight Spectrum Supreme] to deal 1000 damage!"
[Johnson, LP: 4000 → 3000]
[Youmi, LP: 4000 → 3000]
"A mere 1000 damage." Youmi brushed the scorch marks from her outfit without care and ended her turn.
Turn 2
"My turn—draw!"
[Judge Man] Johnson glanced at the card he drew. His expression was unreadable, and after a moment's pause, he silently ended his turn. He could have summoned his Deck Master to go for a direct attack, but if his opponent had [Raigeki] waiting, he'd be finished instantly. Caution won over aggression.
Turn 3
"Looks like you're out of options, Mr. Johnson. My turn—draw~"
Youmi drew a card and declared, "Let's make use of this Deck Master mechanic. I Special Summon my Deck Master, [Artifact Lancea], in Attack Position!
"Then—I pay 2000 LP to activate [Dimension Fusion]! We both Special Summon as many banished monsters as possible. Since you have none, it's just me! Return—[Mekk-Knight Blue Sky], [Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight], [Mekk-Knight Spectrum Supreme], [Mekk-Knight of the Morning Star]!"
Four monsters emerged from the swirling dimensional vortex, readying their weapons eagerly.
"[Dimension Fusion], huh? Even with five monsters, victory will still be mine! I activate my Deck Master ability—pay 1000 LP!"
"[Artifact Lancea]'s effect activates!
"I can Tribute this card from my hand or field to prevent either player from banishing cards this turn! Normally, this can only be used during your opponent's turn; however, thanks to its Deck Master ability, I can use it now!"
Youmi hurled [Artifact Lancea] like a spear, pinning Johnson to the wall with perfect precision.
Wiping her hand, she said calmly, "You said you could twist truth into lies and pass judgment on me, right? Now, it's time I judged your sins, Mr. Johnson~."
"D-Don't come any closer! AAAAAAHHHH!"
After giving the foaming Johnson a few well-placed kicks—poetic justice, she thought—Youmi turned her gaze toward Noah's communication link, already knowing where to look.
"You never fail to surprise me, Youmi. A splendid performance. You've caught more of my interest than ever… but—"
Raising his hand in the video feed, Noah turned [World Legacy's Scars] gray and inert. "That's one show I don't need to see twice. For our next duel, could you use a different Deck? I want to see more of your creativity, Youmi."
"If that's what you wish." Ignoring the unconscious Big Five member, Youmi traced streams of data into card form, displaying one in her hand. "Then let this next card surprise you~."
It was a black, DARK-Attribute, Machine-Type Rank 8 Xyz Monster.
