After looking at Kyo's Twitter for a few seconds, I decided to make a post. But all I wrote was "Good morning," along with a few emojis. The moment I posted it, my heart started racing.
The notifications came flooding in. There were countless comments in Japanese, English, Spanish, and many other languages. The likes were also increasing rapidly.
*I've never seen anything like this in my life.*
"Is that all you're going to post?" Kyo asked. "You could promote your novel or something."
"Are you crazy? I'd never do that. People would definitely think my account got hacked or something. My novel hasn't even been published yet!"
"I'm just kidding." Kyo laughed before continuing, "Come on, let's play."
He walked over to the small, low sofa and sat down. I followed him and sat beside him.
The huge TV turned on, along with the PlayStation.
"What kind of games do you like? Simulators? Shooters? Racing games?"
Honestly, I'd never played on a PlayStation before. I'd only ever played games on my phone since my laptop wasn't powerful enough to run games.
"Anything is fine."
"All right. I'll find a co-op game."
After browsing for a while, Kyo bought a random game. It was a split-screen game where each player controlled their own character. We had to uncover secrets and complete challenges together.
When we started playing, I struggled with the controls, but Kyo helped me.
As time passed, I got better, and it became really fun.
Before I even realized it, we were laughing together and having a great time.
All those unnecessary thoughts that had been bothering me disappeared from my mind.
Then I picked up my phone and noticed it was already almost nine o'clock at night. I also had several messages from my mom, along with a missed call because I'd left my phone on silent.
"Damn... it's already late," I murmured.
"Late?" Kyo checked his phone. "You're right. It's almost nine."
"I should get going."
I stood up.
"I'll ask my dad to drive you home. I'll come with you too."
"Thanks, Kyo..."
"No problem. I'm the one who invited you, remember?"
We left Kyo's office and went downstairs together. His parents were in the living room.
"Dad, Miu needs to go home now. Can you drive her? If you can't, I'll call her an Uber."
"Of course. No problem at all. I'll get ready."
Kyo's father kissed Haruna before standing up.
Soon after, we left the mansion and got into the car parked in the garage.
It was a very luxurious car.
*Kyo probably bought this car for his parents. He told me before that they aren't rich...*
Amazing.
Then those strange thoughts started filling my mind again.
Thoughts like...
*I'm not good enough for him.*
*I don't belong in the same world as him.*
I stared out the car window, feeling a little sad.
Kyo, who was sitting beside me in the back seat, asked,
"Is everything okay?"
"I'm just sad because time went by so fast. I wanted to have a little more fun."
"You can come back tomorrow if you want. I don't mind."

POV: Kyo
The car drove for quite a while before we reached a residential neighborhood far from central Tokyo. I'd been here once before, but Miu hadn't let me walk her home. She had gotten out several streets away.
She didn't want her mother to see me or anything like that.
But this time, I wanted to walk her all the way home.
"You can stop here. I'll walk the rest of the way," Miu said.
I knew she'd say that.
"No. This time I'm walking you to your front door. It's late, and you need to be careful. I can't let you walk around alone at night."
"Huh? But I know this neighborhood really well. It's fine."
"No way. I'm taking you home."
"...Okay."
Seeing that I wasn't going to change my mind, Miu led us to her house.
I'd thought she lived in an apartment, but she actually lived in a small house.
Even so, it was a nice, well-kept house.
I got out of the car with Miu and walked with her to the front door.
"Thank you for today, Kyo. I had a lot of fun."
"Why are you thanking me?" I laughed. "I had a great time too. You should come over again tomorrow. If you want, I can try making pizza. What do you think?"
"But going to your house two days in a row? I think that might be a bit much..."
"My parents liked you, so it's fine."
"How can you be so sure they liked me?"
"I just know."
I knew my mom and dad well.
"Even so..."
Just then, the front door opened.
A woman stepped outside.
She was wearing a black coat.
She had long black hair just like Miu's, and there were dark circles beneath her eyes.
She wore a gloomy expression, as though she were completely exhausted with life.
'She looks like Miu. She's beautiful,' I thought.
"Miu! Why didn't you read my messages or answer my calls?" she suddenly shouted.
"Ah, sorry. I was playing games with Kyo, and I lost track of time."
"Tsk!"
She clicked her tongue before saying,
"Fine. Go inside and take a shower. After that, go straight to bed. You have school tomorrow morning."
"Okay..."
Miu looked at me and said,
"See you later."
"Yeah."
I smiled at her.
Miu went inside, and her mother looked me up and down.
Then she asked,
"What do you want with my daughter?"
