Rafael's POV
And even though my body felt shredded from yesterday's brutal surgery, I couldn't hide the rush of desire that made me want to smile.
Some people at the hospital told me I looked different, asked what had put me in such a good mood that I managed to finish a surgery meant to be split into two stages, all in one go.
Even accidentally cut my own wrist during the operation, it wasn't because I was too tired. It was because I was too eager to finish and get home to meet my Nana.
How could I not?
My Nana said she loved me.
And I knew exactly what happened when my Nana loved someone.
I had watched for years how she devoted herself entirely to a man in the name of love. Love was enough for her to give everything.
That meant I was important in her life.
That meant she would devote herself to me.
That meant I was a part of her everything.
I used to envy all that love she had poured into Roman. And now… I was the lucky one.
