Rafael winced as the sword grazed his head and slid down to land at his feet.
I held my breath, curling my lips tight to stop myself from bursting out laughing at the way the sword bounced off his slick, volume-waxed hair, sending a stray bang tumbling onto his forehead.
Then the urge to laugh died instantly when Roey, still growling with his dinosaur clawing at the air, stalked closer to Rafael.
"The sword... haum haum... Where is the sword? Haum haum." Roey kept moving forward, fully in character. No, he was improvising.
I remembered this scene: once the kronosaurus threw the pirate's sword away, he would capture the whole ship crew and the princess, and the sword had to be forgotten. But why?
Why, Roey? Can you just stop right there?
Should I step in? But every eye was on Roey and Rafael, waiting to see what would happen next. And sitting next to Rafael was a chore. If I moved, I'd disturb the immersion.
