Behind her, Reece ran after her in full pirate costume, clutching his plastic sword in his tiny fingers.
Both of them sprinted toward me with frantic hysteria, still laughing wide as if something was chasing them.
"Be careful!" I shouted, stepping forward and opening my arms to catch the two tiny balls of chaos charging at me.
"Mommy, help us!"
"Mom! We are in danger!"
Instead of landing in my arms, they ducked behind my back, giggling hysterically like something exciting was about to happen. I exchanged a look with Jane and chuckled in awe.
