I didn't know why I said that. But the memory of Rafael protecting me back then made me believe he could also protect my children.
Jane let out a small laugh that made me frown.
"I hope you hear how contradictory you are right now. You said he doesn't like kids, but you want him to protect them. Are you sure he wouldn't make the triplets terrified instead?" she asked sceptically.
I clicked my tongue and pouted. My memory of him not liking kids wasn't wrong.
"But Jane… the triplets are too sweet and cute for someone not to like them. Even Veronica Delano, who famously barely smiles, always impresses with their charm. Don't you think Rafael will melt too?"
Jane nodded, agreeing, but her pressed lips made me swallow hard, reminding me I shouldn't fully trust my own assumptions.
