Viona's POV — Almost 4 years later
When I accepted Mrs. Delano's job offer, I thought I'd just become another ordinary employee dragging herself through the nine-to-five like a half-dead zombie.
Or that type of worker who gets ridiculously excited after payday, then loses all motivation three days later once the money evaporates.
As long as I had a stable salary, could give my triplets a decent life, and still be there for all their milestones, I was fine starting a career path I never imagined.
Survival. That was the mantra.
But no. I wasn't surviving. I was thriving.
Double the average salary.
Company house.
Company car.
A personal driver.
Even a professional babysitter allowance for single mothers, simply because the CEO used to be one.
All of that made me a little ambitious about becoming a career woman.
