What is SCP & Important things to know before reading

SCP is a intercontinental organization that seek to Secure, Contain anomalies and Protect humans from anomalies harms. But in real life, it's actually refers to a collaborative fictional universe where SCP foundation locates, studies and contains anomalous objects, entities, and phenomena. This comes as a entries (scientific report) for each SCP, the entries are actually made by real people around the world that want to influence the SCP universe with new anomalies. You can find more on SCP Wiki.

The SCP universe blends horror, science fiction, and weird fiction as it features creatures, objects, and realities that defy normal law while intentionally hidden from the public. You can imagine it like Men in Black, but the organization is way way bigger and focuses on anomalies and research them without caring about ethics and humans lives.

They have support of all world government and is quite literally above any law. They won't hesitate to commit most crime if it meant that they can contain or neutralise the anomaly or ensure their existence are never known by the public.

Now you got the basic idea of what SCP about, we will go over object class and clearance

Item # Classes

There are 10 classes in total when referred to SCP anomalies, however we will focus on the three important class.

Object Class: Safe

Meaning: Easily contained and poses little to no threat as long as containment procedures are followed.

Does not mean harmless—just predictable.

Example: A book that changes the reader's handwriting style—only activates when read and is easy to store.

Object Class: Euclid

Meaning: Unpredictable or not fully understood, making containment more difficult.

May require active monitoring or complex procedures.

Example: A statue that moves when not observed (SCP-173)—containable, but requires constant vigilance.

Object Class: Keter

Meaning: Extremely difficult or nearly impossible to contain with current methods.

Could cause large-scale damage or breaches if not constantly managed.

Does not always mean evil—just hard to control.

Examples: A virus that spreads rapidly, a creature that teleports randomly to kill humans.

Level 1 - Confidential

Staff with basic access (janitors, cafeteria workers, clerical employees in secure areas).

Level 2 - Restricted

Researchers, guards, technicians working with non-dangerous Safe/Euclid SCPs.

Level 3 - Secret

Senior staff directly involved with higher-risk SCPs – Euclid/Keter-level info.

Level 4 - Top Secret

Site Directors, heads of departments, major authority figures with large clearance.

Level 5 - Thaumiel/O5 Level

Maximum clearance; used by O5 Council, Foundation's most powerful leaders.

Technically, I should explain personnel classification in detail. But I doubt i'll use it very much in this novel. So let me simplify. There are 5 classes, A to E.

Class E are people that are quarantined due to being in a presence of anomalous effects so usually temporarily.

Class D are disposable personnel, used for testing and scouting.

Class C are mid-level staffs (Researchers/Field agents/guards)

Class B are high-level staffs that are deemed to be essential to local foundation operatives. (Senior researchers/Supervisor), (Department Heads/Division Chiefs), and (Site Directors/Area Directors).

Class A are those extremely essential to the foundation as a whole and must not under any circumstances be near any anomaly. This is always the O5-Council classification.

There are more thing you would need to learn, like memetics, infohazards and etc. But this isn't an textbook, this is supposed be an novel. So if you're new to the SCP universe, you can read the Wiki or watch YouTube about SCP. Orrrr... You could read through my novel and learn as you read.
