Chapter 1 - Unnamed

THE DREAM WIELDER

By Sylvester Chimaobi

---

Introduction

In a world where dreams are more than visions of the night — they are gateways to power — one boy discovers that his dreams can shape reality itself. But when shadows begin to hunt him through both sleep and waking, he must learn that not all dreams are meant to come true.

---

Chapter 1 – The Awakening

It started with the voice.

Soft.Calling his name. "Daniel…"

He turned in his sleep, feeling the cold wind brush his face though the window was closed. When he opened his eyes, the room was filled with golden light. For a moment, he thought it was morning — until the figure stepped out of the light.

"Who are you?" he whispered.

The figure smiled."I am you… but not the one you know."

The next second, everything exploded into fire and sound.

Daniel woke up sweating, heart racing. It had been the third night of that same dream. He looked at his palm — and gasped. The same mark from the dream was glowing faintly there.

---

Chapter 2 – The Mark

He tried washing it off. It didn't fade.

He tried hiding it.It glowed through his shirt.

By afternoon, strange things began happening — the glass on his table cracked when he got angry, his dog barked at nothing, and every time he closed his eyes, he could hear whispers from the world beyond.

His mother noticed too.

"Daniel,are you okay?"

He nodded quickly, lying. Because how could he explain that something from his dreams had followed him into the real world?

That night, the golden figure appeared again.

"You've been chosen,Dream Wielder," it said. "But they've already found you…"

---

Chapter 3 – The Chase

The following day was chaos.

Strangers dressed in black arrived in the village asking questions about"the boy with the mark." Daniel's mother sent him away to hide in the hills. But even there, the dreams followed.

He dreamt of falling through endless stars. Of fire, screams, and the same golden figure, now wounded.

When he woke, the mark on his palm burned bright red. He knew they were close.

He ran.

---

Chapter 4 – The Dream Guard

Just before sunrise, Daniel collapsed near the river — exhausted, thirsty, and afraid. Then a girl's voice called his name.

He turned, and saw her standing there — tall, calm, with a blade that shimmered like moonlight.

"I'm Lira," she said. "I've been sent to protect you."

"Protect me from what?"

"The Night Hunters. They feed on dreamers like you."

From that moment, his real journey began.

---

Chapter 5 – The Hunters' Strike

The first attack came that night.

Dark mist rolled over the valley, and shadows with glowing eyes stepped out. Lira fought like lightning, cutting through them, but there were too many. Daniel shouted — and light exploded from his mark, burning the shadows away.

When the smoke cleared, Lira stared at him, shocked.

"You're not just a Dream Wielder,"she whispered. "You're the Heir."

---

Chapter 6 – The Heir's Secret

They took refuge in the old temple beyond the cliffs.

Lira explained that long ago,the Dream Realm and the waking world were one. But greed and power tore them apart — until a prophecy spoke of one who could reunite them.

That one… was Daniel.

But he wasn't ready. Each dream drained him more. And the golden figure — his other self — was growing darker.

---

Chapter 7 – The Mirror Dream

One night, Daniel entered a dream he couldn't wake from.

He stood before a mirror— and his reflection stepped out.

"I told you I'm you,"the other Daniel said. "But you keep fighting me."

"I'm not you,"Daniel replied. "You're the darkness trying to control me."

They fought. The battle shattered the dream world. When he finally woke, Lira was gone.

---

Chapter 8 – The Lost Guardian

Daniel searched everywhere but found only traces of Lira's blade.

The mark on his palm had changed— now shaped like two wings.

He followed the dream trails until he found the Night Hunters'den, and there… he saw her — trapped inside a crystal dream prison.

"I'm coming," he whispered.

---

Chapter 9 – Breaking the Dream Prison

He touched the crystal.

The mark glowed.

The dream world folded around him, whispering, "Choose your fear or your truth."

He chose truth.

The prison shattered, releasing both Lira and hundreds of dreamers who had been captured for years. But freeing them came with a price — the golden figure appeared again, angrier than ever.

"You shouldn't have done that," it hissed.

---

Chapter 10 – The Fall of Shadows

The world between dreams and reality began to collapse.

Cities slept for days, people forgot who they were, and the sky bled silver. Lira and Daniel stood together, surrounded by chaos.

"We end this now," Daniel said.

He entered the Dream Core— the center of all reality — where his dark self waited.

---

Chapter 11 – The Final Duel

Inside the Core, there was no up or down — only endless light and shadow.

"You think you can destroy me?"his other self said.

"I don't need to,"Daniel replied. "I'll become one with you."

They merged — pain, fire, then silence. When the light cleared, there was only one Daniel… stronger, balanced, awake.

---

Chapter 12 – Dawn of the New Dream

When Daniel opened his eyes, he was back in his world.

The mark was gone, replaced by a faint scar. Lira stood beside him smiling.

"The worlds are one again," she said.

He looked at the sunrise and felt peace for the first time in years.

---

Chapter 13 – The Dream Lives On

Weeks passed.

People began to dream again— real dreams, bright ones. Daniel now taught young dreamers how to control their power.

But sometimes, late at night, when he closed his eyes, he still heard the voice whisper —

"The Dream never ends."

He smiled.

Because he knew— it was true.
