Chapter 1 - The Judgment of Water

"I… why did I suddenly faint? My head hurts…" Fuyue murmured as she slowly sat up. Her eyes widened. The space around her was endless, sealed in pure white. The ground beneath her shimmered like a mirror.

She looked down at herself—at the elegant attire, the flamboyant hat, the face reflected in the mirrored floor.

"This outfit… this hat… this face… Wait—am I Furina?" As a seasoned Genshin Impact player, Fuyue fell silent.

"You're finally awake."

A voice echoed behind her. Fuyue spun around, startled. Standing there was someone who looked exactly like her—except for the clothes. The woman smiled gently.

"You're Focalors?"

"Yes. I am Focalors, the true God of Justice of Fontaine."

"Why are you here?"

"You know the prophecy of Fontaine, don't you? I came because I believe you can break it."

Fuyue chuckled bitterly. "I'm just an ordinary person. I don't even have a Vision. I don't think I'm capable of that."

"What if you became the true Hydro Archon, outsider?" Focalors replied with a serene smile.

"How do you know I'm not Furina?"

"You carry an affinity for Hydro far beyond what Furina ever possessed. As you said, Furina was a mere mortal—she had no elemental resonance. And Furina wouldn't recognize me as Focalors. You're not her. You're someone from beyond."

Fuyue smiled faintly. "You really are the Hydro Archon… sharp as ever. But what does this have to do with solving the prophecy? Why not just pass your power to Neuvillette?"

"I once thought that too. But in you, I see a choice greater than Neuvillette. Outsiders often carry untapped potential."

Fuyue fell silent. She remembered the end of Fontaine's tale—Focalors' sacrifice, Furina's sorrow, and her return to mortality.

"Wait… don't tell me you're going to—"

"Yes. I will pass my divinity to you. You shall become the true Hydro Archon."

"I refuse! Are you insane? You'll die!" Fuyue shouted. She had cried during the story before—but now, living it herself, the tears came again.

"You're a good child. I believe in you. I've always known I would die. This is just… sooner than expected."

Fuyue stopped resisting. She nodded quietly. Focalors stepped forward, gently wiped her tears, and embraced her.

"From now on, you are Focalors, the Hydro Archon. Promise me—never speak of my existence. Let Celestia guess the truth. I look forward to the day you stand in judgment of the heavens."

Focalors smiled one last time. "It's time for my curtain call... But even I'm still a little afraid of death."

She danced—graceful, melancholic. As the final step ended, a massive blue sword descended from the sky. Focalors vanished. Her body dissolved into pure Hydro energy and flowed into Fuyue.

Fuyue removed her hat and bowed deeply toward the place where Focalors had disappeared.

"Farewell… For a god, these 500 years must have been unbearable. Don't worry. I'll stop the prophecy. And one day, I will judge Celestia."

Suddenly, a sphere of water appeared before her. She touched it gently—and visions flooded her mind. Loneliness. Pain. Memories spanning five centuries.

"These are… Furina's memories…"

Tears streamed down her face once more.

From this moment on, she would bear the name Furina.
