Chapter 3 - Chapter III – System

The coin immediately disappeared from her hand. She quickly raised her head to see if anyone had noticed.

Fortunately, everyone was busy and no one paid any attention to her.

It was also a bit disturbing given that she was such a young child.

Hmm by the way [mu]? Is that the name of the currency in this world? Or is it something else? Also, I hope they won't wonder too much about where the coin went. They may even think I swallowed it....

Unfortunately, she was right. When her mother finished talking she immediately noticed the coin was missing. Panic began to set in. The shopkeeper and her sister also began to panic. How irresponsible!

After a few dozen minutes, they calmed down a bit, seeing that she was fine. Still, they were worried. It seemed that her mother had possibly bought some kind of herbs.... Probably so she could defecate the coin she swallowed....

After returning home, she felt tired and wanted to go to sleep. She couldn't because her mother forced her to drink some potion. Probably some kind of laxative.

Later, she couldn't sleep because she couldn't wait for her dream system to arrive.

No normal person would be able to fall asleep. It was the ultimate fantasy of anyone who had at least once read the webnovels. Still, her physiological needs were more potent. Toddlers do sleep a lot. And she just happens to be such a small child. That's why she fell asleep. She did not recall the moment when she fell asleep. In this world there is no electricity. People wake up and go to sleep following the natural cycle of the day. It's light—you work; it's dark—you go to sleep. Even though there were candles and other things like that, there wasn't much to do here. There were no telephones or televisions to watch, so either way it was best to go to bed when it was getting dark. It was getting bright when she heard a voice.

 "'Master? Master?"

What the hell was that? She opened her eyes with annoyance. She was still sleepy. However, after a moment, she immediately sobered up.

The system? She heard the language that she knew.

"Yes, it's me! I'm a sort of interface to the system, a sort of AI to help you use its functions. In advance of questions" Said the female voice in her head, with a slight note of laughter

"No one else but you can hear me. You can communicate with me through your thoughts."

"So you read my mind?" She honestly didn't like that. She didn't want some AI to know all her thoughts.

"Only if you allow it. I can only hear your voice when your intention is directed toward me. Otherwise, I don't know what you're thinking about. We respect your privacy."

She breathed a sigh of relief. This was acceptable. Of course, she didn't believe this lady's words one hundred percent. There was always the risk that she was lying. There were no guarantees, after all.

"So what can this whole system do?"

"Hehe! I'm glad you asked, sweetheart!"

Eh, this thing has an annoying personality. I hope it can be changed later.

For a while, the AI didn't react to her thoughts, so it appeared that it couldn't read her mind if she didn't want it to.

"To open the system interface, you have to say 'system' out loud, or you have to think about it, darling." Said her female voice.

This AI voice reminds me of Mickey Mouse's wife… What was her name? Minnie? Or something like that? How annoying. Eh, never mind. SYSTEM!

Pay-To-Win? I don't like the name... I have a bad feeling about it.

"Oh, you dare to question this extraordinary system. Know that by criticizing it you are also criticizing me!"

And is that a problem? Well it doesn't matter. I'll check the available options for now. Let's see my profile first. It should be something like statistics?

Profile

Name: May Shang

Race: Human

Age: 0

Realm: Mortal

Paths: None

Martial Arts:None

Statistics: Strength: 2 (10) Defense: 2 (10) Dexterity: 2.5 (9) Speed: 3 (9) Energies: Qi: 1/1

Abilities:

The profile window carried a lot of information. It was possible to deduce many things from it. The name and age made sense. Plain information. However, the existence of the "race" field suggested that there were not only humans living in this world. Could there be elves, centaurs, dwarves, and other fantasy creatures? She felt excited at the very thought. She has always loved Tolkien.

Realm, paths, and martial arts seemed to be related to cultivation itself. Well, after all, she was in a world filled with cultivators. She decided to ask her new AI about it, but it gave her no answer. "I can't answer such questions. I mean I can, but you have to pay. It's pretty basic information, so it's not expensive, I'll tell you everything for 150 mu."

Of course, she didn't have that much money, so this option was out. Well, that's a problem for later. Next were the statistics, and this is where things got weird. In itself it was logical, but why were some numbers in brackets?

"This is an exact question I can answer, because it is related to the functioning of the system. The numbers in brackets are your statistics at full strength. And the ones before the brackets are your current strength. You're a child, so your stats are weakened because you're not able to use your potential to the fullest. As time passes and you grow up, these stats will increase, and at some point they will have the same value, and the brackets will disappear."

Hmm, it seems that as long as the questions is not about cultivation I can ask almost anything... Wait a minute I didn't ask her name... If she has any. Hey, AI do you have a name?

"I don't. You can give me one, but it has to be cute! Otherwise I won't accept it!"

Minnie.

"Oh wow! I didn't expect that from a barbarian woman like you, quite a nice name. Why did you name me like that?"

For no particular reason. In any case, it's not important now. Minnie now open [the store].

"Your wish is my command, milady!"

For god sake never again call me milady.

Hmm, there are many more options here. Minnie, can you briefly explain everything?

"Sure. It is quite simple. You can search for anything you need. Every technique, martial art, and item. You can search them by function, strength, the region in which they originated, and basically anything you can think of."

It sounded pretty fantastic. After all, it was always hard to find good technique in similar webnovels. However, it seemed that as long as she had the money, it wasn't a problem.

So does that means all the techniques of this world are here?

"This is where it gets interesting. The system offers everything that has ever been created in this world! A rare, irrelevant cultivation method from two million years ago or a rare herb that existed billions of years before humans. But that's not all!" She said in a loud and cheerful voice. She continued her long speech before she had time to say anything.

"If you require something unavailable because it has never existed in this world, the system is able to create any technique, martial art, object, bloodline according to your requirements! Of course, such an option is much more expensive, because it requires creating something that never existed."

That's... Amazing! Wait a minute... So let's see the option [items], hmm... Let's think... Is there a sword available that... hmm... gets stronger with each enemy killed? Or something like that? Search for something like that!

"I found 1546 options that meet your needs. Do you want to display them?"

 "Yes!"

"The options have been arranged in order of price from largest to smallest."
