Chapter 141 - Chapter 141

Franklin peered over the stack of crates, Ralts peeking beside him. He saw the caged Pokémon being loaded onto a truck. Poachers moved with quick, practiced efficiency.

"We have to stop them now," Franklin whispered, his voice tight. "I'll create a diversion, then we can free them."

His heart hammered with urgency. Ralts radiated a sympathetic concern, a quiet psychic echo of his determination.

Valeria, hidden behind another set of crates with Lunatone and Beldum, shook her head. Her scanner had just finished its analysis.

"Not yet," Valeria hissed back. "We still need to identify their leadership. If we just free the Pokémon, they will capture them again."

She needed data. Her logical mind demanded understanding before action.

"But they're hurting the Pokémon!" Franklin's voice rose a fraction.

He imagined those electric collars shocking the scared creatures. His cosmic powers thrummed, ready to blast the poachers.

"And they will keep hurting them if we don't know who is behind this," Valeria countered, her tone sharp.

The long-term solution was more important than a quick, temporary rescue. This was a systematic problem.

"There's no time for a full investigation," Franklin insisted. "We rescue them, then figure it out later. That's what heroes do."

His frustration grew. Every second meant more fear for the trapped Pokémon.

"No, Franklin. That's what ineffective heroes do," Valeria shot back. "We get the intelligence, dismantle their operation, and then prevent future incidents."

Her logic was sound, but it felt cold to Franklin. He looked at the terrified Luxio in its cage.

"I can't just stand here," Franklin said, his voice dropping to a low, fierce growl. "They need us now."

He felt the Pokémon's fear through Ralts. Their distress was a physical ache in his own chest.

"And I won't let them escape to hurt more Pokémon," Valeria replied, her eyes fixed on the leader's data pad.

Her commitment to a complete solution was unwavering. She knew the consequences of incomplete missions.

The tension stretched between them. Franklin wanted to save every Pokémon in sight. Valeria wanted to stop the entire operation, permanently.

Their conflicting priorities created an impasse. Franklin looked at Ralts, then back at Valeria.

He gave a grim nod, a silent acknowledgment of their disagreement. Ralts felt his resolve.

Franklin took a deep breath, steeling himself. He stepped out from behind the crates, his voice echoing through the cavern.

"Hey, ugly!" Franklin shouted, his voice cracking slightly but full of youthful defiance. "Leave those Pokémon alone!"

Franklin charged forward, his powers flaring as Ralts floated beside him. He pointed at the closest poacher.

"Ralts, Confusion!"

Ralts's red horns glowed, sending a wave of psychic energy. The poacher staggered, dropping his stun baton with a clatter.

Clatter

Franklin reached the nearest cage, pulling at the latch. The metal resisted, but a surge of his cosmic energy warped it.

Snap

Two Pokémon, a Patrat and a Bidoof, scurried out, looking confused but free. More poachers turned, their stun batons humming.

Valeria moved with purpose through the dim light, Beldum and Lunatone silent companions. She heard Franklin's shouts, a calculated distraction.

Her eyes scanned the cavern, locating a small, separate office built into the rock. A faint, flickering screen inside promised data.

"Beldum, keep watch," Valeria ordered, her voice low. "Lunatone, prepare to use Hypnosis if needed."

She slipped toward the office, her movements economical and precise. The intelligence she sought would stop this for good.

Valeria, with Beldum's magnetic assistance, forced open the office door. The sound of tearing metal made a loud CRUNCH. She moved to the computer terminal.

The screen glowed with encrypted data. Beldum floated nearby, its red eye fixed on the task. Valeria's fingers danced across the keyboard, her mind racing.

She bypassed the security protocols in seconds. Files appeared, confirming her suspicions. The poachers were indeed Hydra operatives.

The symbol of the multi-headed serpent deepened the threat. This was not a simple poaching ring.

Hydra was a global terrorist group, a secret organization focused on world control. Their motto, "Cut off one head, two more shall take its place," showed their determination. They were ruthless, using technology and manipulation to achieve their authoritarian goals.

Valeria now understood the true scale of the operation. This was far more than simple poaching. She knew they had to act fast, but they also needed a plan.

"Hydra," Valeria muttered, her voice cold and hard. "This changes everything."

Her eyes scanned through mission logs and inventory manifests. A specific data entry caught her attention. It described a "legendary avian energy source."

The file included detailed energy signatures. There was no name, just a description of immense electrical power. Hydra knew what it was, but not who.

Franklin tore open another cage, pulling at the warped bars. A small Elekid blinked at him, then zipped out to hide.

Suddenly, a heavy rumble shook the cavern. THUMP-THUMP-THUMP.

A massive Hydra-Bot burst through a side wall, its metal tentacles twitching. Its skull-shaped head swiveled, multiple guns locking onto Franklin and Ralts.

[HYDRA-BOT PROTOCOL: TARGET IDENTIFIED. NEUTRALIZE.]

The Hydra-Bot opened fire. Green energy bolts peppered the ground where Franklin stood a second before.

Franklin grabbed Ralts, rolling behind a stack of crates. CRASH. The crates splintered from the impact.

He needed to prioritize survival. The Pokémon would have to wait.

"Ralts, Disarming Voice!" Franklin commanded, his breath catching.

Ralts let out a charming cry, a soft wave of psychic energy. It washed over the Hydra-Bot, but the machine barely registered it.

[THREAT LEVEL: NEGLIGIBLE. ENGAGE.]

The Hydra-Bot advanced, its tentacles swiping at their cover. SWISH-THUD.

Franklin and Ralts scrambled, dodging the relentless assault. They were trapped between the crushing walls and the machine's steady fire.

The main cannon on the Hydra-Bot's skull-shaped head extended. A high-pitched whine began to build.

[MAIN CANNON: CHARGING. MAXIMUM POWER.]

Valeria watched from the office, her eyes fixed on the Hydra-Bot. Her gauntlet whirred, analyzing its defenses.

The "legendary avian energy source" data now made sense. Hydra was building something to contain a powerful flying Pokémon.

She noticed a faint energy conduit running along the Hydra-Bot's left leg. A weak point, if she could expose it.

"Beldum, prepare to use Tackle on its left leg," Valeria instructed, her voice calm and firm. "Lunatone, target its head with Confusion."

She knew Franklin's headstrong nature. He would engage, creating the opening she needed.

Valeria waited, watching the main cannon glow brighter. Franklin was pinned, a clear target.

This was her chance. Her brother's impulsive action created a tactical advantage.

"Now, Beldum! Lunatone!" she commanded, bursting from the office.

Beldum shot forward, a blur of metal and psychic force, slamming into the Hydra-Bot's left leg. CRUNCH! Sparks flew as the armor buckled.

The Hydra-Bot staggered, its aim wavering. Lunatone launched a powerful Confusion attack, its crimson eye glowing. The psychic force hit the Hydra-Bot's head, causing its optical sensors to sputter. WHIRR-CLUNK.

The main cannon sputtered, its charge dissipating into thin air. The Hydra-Bot's mechanical body seized, then collapsed. THUD-CRASH. Smoke curled from its broken joints.

Franklin stared, wide-eyed. He felt a wave of relief wash over him. Valeria had saved them.
