An endless number of questions and assumptions began to form inside Yuta's mind like a hurricane, while at the same time he entered a clothing store with Usagi.
"Have all the people disappeared?"
"What can be seen in the surroundings at first glance?"
Looking around the store he was in, it was just a simple clothing shop decorated in exactly the same way as when there were still people around.
There were no signs that people had created chaos before disappearing, so now the theory that they were alone in this city was gaining strength.
And while observing his surroundings, Yuta discovered that the sales terminal on the counter still had a credit card inserted in the slot.
Noticing this very curious detail, Yuta slowly walked over and picked up the sales terminal, then pulled out the credit card to examine it.
Deducing that this credit card had been inserted into the device for payment, the world should be the same as it was just moments before all the humans disappeared—of course, based on that assumption.
Therefore, this new knowledge Yuta had just uncovered was what had truly happened. At that moment, he only focused on connecting the pieces of information to find answers that would get him closer and closer to the truth.
Thus, all this information would play an active role when it came to making a logical decision.
Yuta knew that very few were aware of the power of deductive intelligence. In fact, deductive intelligence can help people reason if used correctly.
Yuta, as a result, used his deductive reasoning to gain an advantage in perceiving this reality. From what he discovered with the things around him, mere coincidence is witness to many facts that cannot be seen at first glance—but this happens because life is a great chain, and Yuta was not in much of a hurry about the situation.
Walking around the store, Yuta and Usagi found nothing else that could give them further information about this situation. Nothing—the sharp eyes of Yuta examined every detail in the store, and there was absolutely nothing else to indicate exactly what had happened.
"If people disappeared as is evident, we have to consider other factors for the moment." Yuta, who had things clear in his mind, picked out a set of black sportswear in his size and stepped into a fitting room.
Usagi, who was quietly looking around the store, also thought the same way as Yuta. Looking at her own clothes, they were not at all optimal if she considered walking long distances. So, when she saw Yuta casually picking out clothes, Usagi made the same decision and began searching for suitable clothing for herself.
In this situation, the important thing was to be comfortable, and obviously the clothes they were wearing were not suitable for moving across long distances. So, in this case, nothing mattered more than making sure of her own safety.
"I see, this situation has awakened in me an instinct for knowledge and survival like I've never felt before," Yuta murmured as he began undressing.
This was not an illusion, but rather the real world, which had undergone serious changes that no one yet understood.
It was nothing like a situation that could have happened before. Of course, if he considered something like aliens, this situation could be resolved easily, but that wasn't his way of thinking.
Yuta, a person well-prepared for this type of situation, could obviously face all these intriguing events happening around him. There was an entire city to be explored and thousands of situations to encounter, so now he knew what he had to do.
But looking at how far things had developed, this world—which should have been the same as before he lost consciousness—should still have all the things it had when people wandered through every corner of the city.
So the first step he had to take was to look for food, water, weapons to defend himself, and if possible, find other people.
"Yuta, are you ready? We should search in other places and see if we discover something else." Usagi's voice came from the other side of the fitting room where Yuta was changing.
"Yes, I'm ready." After replying, Yuta took off his shirt and put on a more comfortable long-sleeved one.
Yuta stepped out of the fitting room and then looked at Usagi, who was wearing sportswear, so he said: "From what I see, you must practice some kind of sport. You've got good muscles. Let's get going."
Wasting no time, Yuta led the way this time, heading in a specific direction. Meanwhile, Usagi looked at Yuta in silence and began to follow him.
Although she would prefer to be alone, she couldn't deny that it was better to move around with Yuta, since he didn't seem like a bad person. He looked very calm, and it wasn't a bad idea to move together.
She still remembered when she gave him the fragment of her cube. To be honest, she wouldn't have picked up that cube fragment if she hadn't seen the indifferent expression on Yuta's face at that moment.
She felt the loneliness and indifference of life, which in some way felt familiar.
Maybe they were both people who had lost everything in life, and this day they dared to step out into the real world.
But here they were, just as alone as when there had been people.
So this situation was no different from their real world.
Usagi didn't remember much before waking up; she only vaguely remembered the sound of fireworks and how, before losing consciousness like Yuta, he had taken her hand.
Could that have influenced why they woke up together in this place? She didn't know for now, but she would definitely find out.
The truth was, it didn't matter. Usagi had no other thought than simply to discover where she was. The person at her side might be indifferent or speak very little, but that didn't change the fact that he was silently thinking about everything that was happening.
And she was no different—she thought in silence and acted for her own benefit.
