Chapter 24 - The Chaos Part 1 - A Sense of Homecoming

Azrael slowly walked over and pulled up a chair and sat down next to the wooden bench. Under the twilight state at the room, he carefully gazed upon the beautiful lady lying on the bench. Tears kept flowing from his eyes.

Upon the wooden bench lay a motionless form of the woman, suspended somewhere between life and death, as if time itself had forgotten to claim her. Her breathing was so faint that, it seemed borrowed from the silence surrounding her; each fragile breath barely stirring the stillness of the chamber.

Seeing that, his heart was filled with respect and sadness at the same time.

"Mom, I'm finally back..." His melancholic voice faltered...

He put the spear beside him and then slowly grabbed a hand of his mother with a gentle care. He placed his chin on the bench and glared at his mother in a melancholic mood...

She was remarkably tall; her porcelain skin untouched by the wear of decades. Although she had long crossed her 50's, her face possessed the untouched grace of a woman scarcely past her 20's, as if age had wandered past her without ever leaving its mark. Serenity rested upon her sleeping features, lending her the appearance of a goddess carved from moonlit marble rather than a mortal bound to flesh.

She was draped in a flowing gown woven from translucent threads of pale gold. It clung to her like liquid sunlight, cascading effortlessly over her graceful form before spilling on to the weathered wood beneath her. The fabric concealed her with quiet dignity while doing little to diminish the almost supernatural elegance of her silhouette, which emerged softly beneath its shimmering folds.

Across her arms, shoulders, collarbones, and the length of her body stretched intricate inscriptions, ancient symbols inked into her skin with impossible precision. They resembled neither tattoos nor ornamentation, but rather the fragments of a forgotten language, glowing faintly whenever the wandering light brushed against them, as if they carried memories older than civilization itself.

The room lingered in twilight, where hesitant rays of light slipped through unseen cracks and mingled with pools of shadow. In that gentle chiaroscuro, her figure appeared almost unreal; a vision suspended between dream and memory. Every contour was softened by the dance of light and darkness, transforming her presence into something celestial rather than earthly.

Her hair was perhaps the most extraordinary sight of all. Long strands of radiant gold flowed from her head like a waterfall of molten sunlight, spilling across the bench and cascading over its edges until the wood itself disappeared beneath the luminous veil. The silken tresses caught every wandering beam, glowing with a quiet brilliance that seemed to illuminate the room from within.

She did not resemble someone lost to sleep.

She resembled an ancient divinity waiting for the world to remember her name...

Thus, a few hours had passed away. Gradually the moon had been risen, radiating a bright moonlit aura across the dark, shadowy room.

"What happen to mother, master? Why is she in such dire state?" After a few hours, suddenly Lily interacted with him mentally, and asked.

He remained silent. A few more moment had passed away...

After that, he finally began to speak.

"My mother is in the coma..."

He again went silent. His voice was so faltered that he could not speak properly.

At that moment, a nurse entered the room. The nurse was shocked to see him sitting next to her.

"Hey, young man. Who are you? How did you get in here? Outsiders are strictly prohibited in this hospital. Get out..." The nurse started scolding him and strictly ordered him to get out of the hospital. "Only patient's family is allowed here. Who the hell are you get into here without any prior permission?"

The nurse actually could not recognized him, as he came there in his youth state.

He felt so embarrassed and as well as ashamed of himself, as he realized that he was so carried out of emotions that he hadn't even remembered the current truth of him.

He silently nodded silently with agreement and was about to leave the room. However, the moment he stood up for leaving, suddenly he felt his mother's unconscious body slightly trembled.

His eyes lit up with a faint hope.

In an instant, he hugged his mother in tears. The nurse moved forward to stop him, but stopped after thinking about something. He could clearly had sensed his mother's body had pulsated, but then she again became frozen.

After that, he wiped his eyes and stood back a little. His body was trembling with hope. He was proud of himself for not losing hope yet.

"Mister, I really don't know who you are. But please, don't disturb the patient anymore. I didn't stop you as I didn't want to prevent you this last hug. So, now please get out of this place..." The nurse spoke with anger.

He finally nodded in agreement. He grabbed the spear and finally left the room. While exiting the room, he vowed in his mind,

"Mom, I swear to myself, very soon we will return home... Just wait for me, mom..." His voice hardened with a hope of homecoming.

He also realized that the nurse could not sense his mother's pulsation. For the first time after meeting his mother, he smiled. He sat on a chair at the hospital's corridor with a tiredness in his eyes.

"Master, how do you feel now?" Lily mentally spoke.

"My mother's health has improved. I think very soon my mother can again return back in her consciousness... We can finally return back to our home..." His melancholic voice finally hardened with a hope and cheerfulness.

"This is a great news. So, what will you do now, master?"

"In my current appearance, I can't go back to the hotel I'm staying at... So I have decided to stay at a motel... But, it's already night and I guess all motel gate has been closed by now... I think I have to stay in this hospital for today's night..."

While saying that, he began to feel very tired and endless sleep fell upon his eyes.

Gradually, he lay down on the chair and fell asleep.

Maybe it would be midnight then, at that time suddenly he was startled awake by a squeaking sound. The sound was coming from his mother's room. An unknown terror covered his mind. So, without thinking anything, he rushed towards the room.

However, when he arrived near the room, he was shocked to see that Mark was there with several doctors. He was sure that he didn't tell Mark about his mother's whereabouts. So, he was very curious about how Mark could know where their mother was hospitalized.

"Master, do you know that person? I can feel a dense yin aura coming from him. Maybe he has recently encountered something or someone with yin energy..."

"He is my step-brother... No need to worry about him. He is somewhat dumb and naive. I will handle this matter accordingly..."

He decided to meet him face-to-face. He slowly started walking towards Mark. With each step, memories of their started flooding back into his mind...
