Chapter 13 - When a Spark is Thrown into a Powder Keg

In the end, Kakeru Ryūen gave Mio Ibuki an embellished account of the eavesdropping and confrontation that took place in the library. He even threw in a piece of information he had happened to discover, though only he knew how much of his story was pure sensationalism.

Watching Ibuki walk away, Ryūen shoved his hands in his pockets and turned toward the student cafeteria, a cold smile playing on his lips.

Class A's Arisu Sakayanagi can blow minor conflicts out of proportion, so why can't I, Class C's Ryūen, do the same?

Meanwhile, Daichi Ishizaki took two steps forward to catch up with Ryūen, frowning as he asked, "Boss, you're just letting Ibuki go to Class D by herself? Why don't we go with her and demand an explanation for Shiina? That taser cost eighty thousand points. If we were frugal, that's enough to live on for three months."

Albert Yamada then looked at Ryūen, clearly sharing the same thought. Despite the black strongman's burly and taciturn appearance, he had his own principles.

Seeing them eager for action, Ryūen thought for a moment before explaining, "If we go together, it'll look like we're deliberately looking for a fight. If Ibuki goes alone, it's called demanding an explanation."

Although his motives weren't entirely pure, this act of standing up for a female classmate was certainly winning hearts. Even Albert was moved to act, so Ryūen didn't mind elaborating.

"I thought I'd watch from the outside. That tomboy Ibuki doesn't think before she speaks. I'm worried she'll get ganged up on," Daichi Ishizaki said, scratching his head and offering a simple-minded smile.

"Then go do what you want to do."

"Yeah!"

"Yes! Boss!"

...

In the blink of an eye, it was afternoon.

After the first class ended, without any signal from Ryūen, Mio Ibuki left the Class C classroom on her own. Not long after, the loud sound of a door being kicked in came from the adjacent Class D.

The commotion was in Class D, but the students of Class C were long accustomed to the noise and clamor from next door. They would occasionally mock them behind their backs to start a conversation with friends. Aside from Ryūen leading a few people out as usual, not many paid it any mind.

Hiyori herself was working on the assignment the teacher had just given, paying no attention to such a trivial matter.

Meanwhile, in the Class D classroom—

The classroom door was kicked open, and many students turned to look in the direction of the sound.

Mio Ibuki stood in the doorway, fearlessly meeting the gazes of those who looked over. With a cold expression on her pretty face, she asked, "I'm Mio Ibuki from Class C. Who is Suzune Horikita?"

As she finished speaking, many students turned their heads to look at Suzune Horikita, who was seated in the last row. At the same time, Class D's red-haired delinquent, Ken Sudō, stood up and started cursing.

"Hey, are you looking for trouble, woman?"

Sensing a potential conflict, Yōsuke Hirata, the class president and peacemaker of Class D, quickly stood up to calm him down.

Among the girls' group, Class D's little angel, Kikyō Kushida, also stepped out from the crowd, asking with a sweet smile, "Ibuki-san, could you please calm down..."

"Get lost. I have business with her!"

Mio Ibuki was not one to waste words. She shot Kushida a cold glance and strode towards Suzune Horikita. Her harsh attitude left Kikyō Kushida frozen on the spot.

Seeing their class pet treated this way by an outsider, the students of Class D instantly became as agitated as a disturbed hornet's nest.

Kanji Ike: "Who is this tomboy? How can she talk to Kikyō-chan like that?"

"Kikyō-chan, are you okay?" Haruki Yamauchi stood up and fussed over Kushida.

What could possibly happen from being told off once? And do you have any sense of boundaries, calling me Kikyō-chan already? — Kikyō Kushida cursed inwardly, but the smile on her face didn't waver as she dealt with the approaching Yamauchi.

Meanwhile, Suzune Horikita looked up at Mio Ibuki, who was now standing over her desk. "What is it?" she said in a cold tone. "I don't recall knowing anyone like you."

"My, how people in high places have short memories. Does having a student council president for a brother make you that special?" Mio Ibuki sneered, suppressing her anger as she retorted.

She started with a huge piece of gossip, and Suzune Horikita was instantly silenced.

The students of Class D fell quiet. Except for Rokusuke Kōenji, who was nonchalantly combing his hair with a small mirror, everyone else was ready to hear what Ibuki had to say. Kikyō Kushida, who had long been annoyed with Horikita, was inwardly ecstatic—Start fighting already!

Suzune Horikita forced herself to remain calm and said, "I don't believe we've ever had any interactions. What do you want from me?"

This sentence was basically a repeat of her last one. Clearly, Suzune Horikita wasn't prepared for her identity to be exposed and could only try to stick to the issue at hand.

Of course, Ibuki didn't notice such a minor detail. She crossed her arms and said coldly, "You've forgotten what happened a few days ago, haven't you? Let me remind you with a few words—weekend, library, Hiyori Shiina, eavesdropping, bullying."

"Ibuki-san, could there be some misunderstanding here?" tried Mei-Yu Wang, a student of Chinese descent sitting at the front desk, attempting to mediate.

"Misunderstanding? Tell her to come to our class and publicly apologize to Hiyori with a dogeza. Then this 'misunderstanding' will be over," Ibuki said, staring coldly at Horikita with a menacing tone.

"I don't believe I did anything wrong," Suzune Horikita replied coolly, not thinking she had done anything excessive at the library. She was the one who got chewed out, for crying out loud!

"You brought a boy to trouble a girl from our class, and you still think you did nothing wrong? After that day, Hiyori spent eighty thousand points on a taser, and you still think you did nothing wrong?"

Seeing her still stubbornly refusing to admit fault, Mio Ibuki grabbed her by the collar, pulling her forward. "Tell me!!!" she yelled.

Suzune Horikita's pupils contracted. Nearby, Kiyotaka Ayanokōji realized he had been caught in an undeserved disaster.

Just as the atmosphere reached its peak tension, a boy's mocking laughter cut through. "Haha! A taser? Isn't that a bit of an overreaction? It's the first time I've heard of someone actually buying one of those things. Why not give me the eighty thousand points instead?"

Mio Ibuki whipped her head around, scanned the classroom, and found the cheerfully laughing Yamauchi. She shot back with a cold retort, "Truly befitting the trash of Class D. The school's class placement system really is something else. A guy like you who can't tell right from wrong truly belongs in a garbage heap like Class D."

With that blanket insult unleashed publicly, the Class D classroom fell instantly silent.

"You crazy woman, I've had enough of you!" Ken Sudō forcefully pushed Hirata aside and charged forward with a clenched fist. Yamauchi, having been directly insulted, also lunged forward.

With Sudō making the first move, the scene in the classroom instantly exploded, followed by a brief fistfight!

After a few punches and kicks, even though Ibuki had a background in martial arts and managed a decent counterattack while being ganged up on by two boys, the physical disparity was simply too great. She had no choice but to grab an empty chair, and the fistfight instantly escalated into a brawl with weapons.

The scope of the fight rapidly expanded. Innocent bystanders who got caught in the crossfire, as well as those who tried to break it up, inadvertently became fuel for the fire once the flames were thoroughly ignited.

It wasn't until Ryūen, along with Ishizaki, Albert, Kondō, and Komiya, stormed into the classroom, shouting slogans and throwing themselves into the fierce brawl, that the situation finally spiraled completely out of control, becoming an irreversible mess.
