Ruby's POV
"The DNA results... they're definitely accurate?" My voice shook as I pressed him for confirmation.
"We collected hair samples and ran them against your genetic profile," Elias replied softly. "The results are conclusive. I'm sorry, babe."
I collapsed against his chest, and his strong arms immediately encircled me, holding me close to his warmth.
"We knew this could happen. You mentally prepared yourself for every scenario," he murmured, his fingers threading through my hair in gentle strokes. "Remember, you're an adult now. You don't need either of them in your life. The only reason we tracked them down was to see if your mother might help with your wolf situation. Once you're healed, you never have to interact with them again."
