Chapter 9 - Chapter 9:The day she met that person.

After getting freshen up he came back from the bathroom, all he could see is Liu Yiran had taken over half of the bed, her all four limbs are spread carelessly. He couldn't help but let out a soft sigh, her sleeping posture was, really unbelievably bad.

He paused for a second, and then picked up the spare blanket and went to the sofa, settling down quietly. The sofa was placed direct opposite to the bed where he can see her clearly. She was there, sleeping like a baby, quite and defenseless.

His thoughts drifted back to when he first met her, she had been only sixteen then. He was twenty-one,she told him that it was love at first sight, but he didn't take it seriously.....

The soft morning light crept into the room, and Liu Yiran gradually woke up.Still half-asleep, she reached for her phone checked the time. It was already 7:00 am.

Suddenly, the soft click of the bathroom door opening cut through the quiet room. The sound jolted her fully awake, and instinctively, she turned toward it.

Her breath caught.

Standing there was a perfectly defined figure, like a sculpture carved by the gods themselves... draped in nothing but a white towel secured low around his waist. Morning light spilled across his figure, highlighting the smooth lines of his toned muscles. His skin was pale and flawless, almost luminescent, with a faint warmth beneath the glow that made him seem both ethereal and dangerously tempting.

Water droplets clug to him stubbornly, sliding slowly from his sharp jawline, tracing down the elegant curve of his throat, gliding past his defined collarbones, and disappearing along the ridges of his chiseled chest. Every movement sent a few droplets cascading lower, drawing the eye whether one wanted to look or not.

His dark hair was still damp, slightly messy and falling over his forehead in a way that made him look unintentionally seductive. The overall picture was devastating—like a scene ripped from a forbidden fantasy.

The sight was breathtaking enough to make anyone, regardless of gender, completely lose there control.

But Liu yiran didn't have the mood to enjoy this feast right now. How can he just walk around the room half nakedly??..

"Y-You…" She coughed lightly, trying to compose herself. "When did you get here?" she asked, quickly averting her gaze from him.

Chen Zeyan lifted his brows slightly, his expression calm. He had clearly noticed her staring when he stepped out of the bathroom like in daze —yhaa.. he wasn't someone easily overlooked.

He was used to all kind of gazes. Over the years, countless eyes had followed him with hunger, greed, lust, admiration, or shameless fascination. It always make him uncomfortable and feel disgust.

He had long stopped paying attention to any of those looks.

Back in his teens, someone had even tried to take advantage of him, but he had been well-trained since childhood, so they never gained the upper hand. Still, the memory was enough to leave him disgusted.

Liu Yiran... Her gaze upon him always held deep admiration and love.

But strangely enough he didn't found it disgusting or uncomfortable.

Her eyes always so pure unstained by this world. That was one of the reasons why, when grandpa asked, he didn't object to marrying her.

But now something feel different love that once lingered in her eyes seems had vanished?.... replaced by something distant, guarded… cautious, he don't know.

He hadn't paid much attention to it at first. When he noticed the shift during the tea ceremony, but he dismissed it as nerves.

Yet seeing it again now, so clearly, made something stir in him.

"Last night...." he answered briefly to her question. His eyes still on her, his expression unreadable.

Liu Yiran blinked in confusion — she was certain he hadn't come back last night.

"You were sleeping," he said before she could ask anything.

Now, Yiran was at a loss; she didn't even ask it through. Is it that obvious?.

With a brief pause, she opened her mouth to ask more, but before she could utter anything, Chen Zeyan turned away, retrieving a black suit from the wardrobe and beginning to change right in front of her. Her words froze in her throat.

She didn't know what to do or where to look. She just sit there, frozen.

"Still looking?".

A cold, unhurried voice jolted her out of her daze. Heat rushed to her face as she scrambled onto the bed and pulled the sheets over herself as quickly as she could.

Seeing her like that , Chen Zeyan couldn't help finding the situation slightly amusing. Still, he chose not to tease her any further after all everything have it's limit, noticing how thin skinned she is he let it go.

Once he finished putting on his work attire, he turned and walked out of the room.

Hearing him go out, Liu Yiran sighed relief and gritted her teeth. She truly despised herself—how could she behave so disgracefully, especially in front of Chen Zeyan? The embarrassment was unbearable; she wished the ground would open up and swallow her.

Even after everything she had experienced in her past life. she still wasn't fully immune to this man.

No... this wouldn't do, he was so fatal for her .She had to get divorce, Immediately.Determination flashed in her eyes.

Fresh from washing up, Liu Yiran descended the stairs. The sight of her grandmother, along with her mother-in-law and father-in-law already seated at the dining table, greeted her.

Old master and Chen Zeyan was absent.

Grandma Chen waved excitedly the moment she noticed Liu Yiran.

"Xiao Ran! Come here and sit, we're all waiting for you."

Grandma Chen's warm greeting made something in Yiran's chest soften. She walked toward the table with small steps and quietly took a seat beside her.

"You're late. Everyone has been waiting just for you," Tang Jingyi said in a flat tone.

"I'm sorry, it won't happen again...," she said quietly. She really didn't want to argue with this woman.

"It's okay, dear… you're not that late," Grandma Chen softly voiced as easing the awkwardness.

Liu Yiran smiled softly, feeling truly grateful to Grandma Chen, who always tried to protect her.

Tang Jingyi fallen silent, not wanting to confront her mother-in-law, and quietly began having breakfast.

"It's getting late; I'll should take my leave," remarked her father-in-law, Chen Yu, as he cast a look toward Grandma Chen. Upon her nod, he rose from his seat.

"Grandma, where are Grandpa and Zeyan?" Yiran asked, unable to hide her curiosity. They're the only ones who's not here.

"The boy didn't tell you?" Grandma Chen asked, she clearly annoyed.

Liu Yiran didn't know how to respond; she could only laugh nervously, recalling what had happened in morning.

That was clearly not the best time to explain anything, yet she didn't mind to let Chen Zeyan take the blame.it was all his fault.

"Old Man and Ah Ze left early this morning. They went to the ancestral temple to pay respects," Grandma Chen explained

"Today marks the founding day of the Chen family, so the family head and heir must go first to pay respects. We'll leave a little later, your father-in-law have to take care of something in company he'll join us later.

Sigh...how could Ah Ze forget to tell you something this important?" Grandma said, her irritation obvious.

" You should get ready, we'll leave after a while. " Grandma gently said

Liu Yiran stunned. Damn...She had actually forgotten. How...could she just forget the day? This was the exact day she had met that person.

"Yes grandma... " Yiran murmured, her fingers tightening slightly.
