Chapter 23 Visit
On the battlefield of the Holy Terra Empire, soldiers are busy cleaning up the battlefield.
The giant serpent's carcass was cut into several pieces and dragged away by several Titan mammoths.
Some soldiers were collecting the blood that had flowed from the star beasts. They used special containers to collect the dark red blood that had fallen into the soil, preparing to send it to research facilities at the rear.
Just then, Xing Sha led her delegation to the front lines of the Holy Terra Empire.
"Halt! Who are you?"
The soldiers on guard duty spotted them, immediately raised their weapons, and shouted questions.
Xing Sha and the others were startled by the sudden reprimand. They quickly stopped and raised their hands to show that they meant no harm.
"We are envoys from the Dawn Tribe," Xing Sha said in the language of the Star Beast Jungle World. "We mean no harm; we have come to seek communication with you."
However, the soldiers of the Holy Terra Empire couldn't understand what Starsha was saying at all.
"What kind of gibberish is this person spouting?"
"It might be the language of the indigenous people. You know, in my former hometown, imperialist colonizers often forced ethnic minorities to change their languages. We should ensure cultural diversity and not fall into the trap of narrow nationalism."
"?"
Seeing that Xing Sha and her group were unarmed and few in number, the soldiers did not launch an attack directly, but instead sent someone to inform their superior.
Soon, an officer in armor came to Xing Sha and the others.
"Who are you?" the officer asked in Common Language. "What is your purpose here?"
Xing Sha and the others looked at each other, unable to understand what the officer was saying.
The two sides do not speak the same language, making effective communication impossible.
Just then, a priest from the Church of Life, dressed in a white robe, walked over.
"Let me give it a try," the priest said to the officer.
The officer recognized the priest; he knew these priests possessed some magical abilities. He nodded and stepped aside.
This priest, named Krud, is a mid-level priest of the Cult of Life. He is not only skilled in healing magic, but also possesses some special communication skills.
Kruder walked up to Xingsha and carefully examined her.
"Greetings, I am Krud, a priest of the Cult of Life," Krud said. "I can sense that you have no ill intentions. You have come seeking to communicate with us, haven't you?"
He was still speaking Common Tongue, which Hoshino and the others still couldn't understand.
But then, something amazing happened.
Krud's body began to change; countless tiny, nerve-like tendrils (which were actually his nervous system) grew on his skin.
These tentacles continued to extend, eventually connecting to Starve's body.
"Don't be afraid, I just want to establish a mental connection with you." Krud's voice rang out directly in Xingsha's mind. "That way, we can communicate directly with our thoughts."
Xing Sha was surprised, but she quickly calmed down. She was no longer surprised by what these intruders were capable of.
"You…hello, Priest Krud," Starsha responded telepathically. "I am Starsha, an emissary of the Dawn Tribe. We have come here to speak with your leader."
"The Dawn Tribe? I've never heard of that name before," Krud said. "But that's alright, I'll relay your purpose to our commander. Please follow me."
Led by Krud, Xingsha and the others crossed the Holy Terra Empire's territory.
Along the way, they saw many soldiers working hard, as well as wounded soldiers receiving treatment.
They also saw those enormous war beasts and those towering magic towers.
All of this left Xing Sha and the others utterly shocked.
They had never seen such a powerful army, nor such advanced technology.
"These otherworldly beings... they are truly incredibly powerful..." Xing Sha thought to herself, "Compared to them, our Dawnlight Tribe is practically like primitive people..."
Soon, Xing Sha and the others were taken to the rear of the Holy Terra Empire's position.
There, they received a warm welcome ceremony, which left Xing Sha and the others somewhat bewildered.
"Welcome, friends from the Dawn Tribe!"
Commander Bard of the Holy Terra Empire personally greeted Xing Sha and the others.
He conveyed his welcome to Hoshino and the others through Krud's "translation".
"We are believers of the God of Existence. We have come to this world to spread the glory of the God of Existence and to save the suffering people here," Bard said. "We hope to establish a friendly relationship with you and fight together against those evil star beasts."
Xingsha and the others were very surprised to hear what Bard said.
They originally thought these otherworldly beings had come to conquer them, but to their surprise, they claimed to have come to "save" them.
"You...you really came to help us?" Xingsha asked in disbelief.
"Of course." Bard nodded. "The God of Existence is merciful; he does not wish to see any life suffer. As long as you are willing to believe in the God of Existence, we will help you, protect you, and keep you safe from the Star Beasts."
Xing Sha and the others exchanged glances, and each could see a glimmer of hope in the other's eyes.
If these people from another world are truly willing to help them, then perhaps this world can truly be saved.
"We need time to think about it," Xingsha said. "After all, this is a very important matter, and we need to go back and discuss it with the elders of the tribe before we can make a decision."
"Of course, we understand," Bard said. "We will be waiting for your reply on the front lines. If you need anything, please feel free to come to us anytime."
And so, Xing Sha and the others temporarily settled on the Holy Terra Empire's territory.
They were treated very well, with plenty of food and clean water, as well as comfortable tents to live in.
These treatments are far better than what they received in the Xiguang tribe.
Over the next few days, Xing Sha and the others carefully observed the army of the Holy Terra Empire and their way of life.
They discovered that these otherworldly beings, though powerful, were not cruel.
Moreover, they possess very advanced technology.
The weapons, tools, and various daily necessities were all things that Xingsha and the others had never seen before.
They began to think that perhaps cooperating with these people from another world was actually a good option.
"Sister Xingsha, do you think we should agree to their offer?" one of the team members asked. "To join that... what's-his-name God of Existence?"
"I don't know…" Xingsha shook her head, "but I do know that we must make changes. If we continue to cling to the traditions of the past, we will be eliminated by this world sooner or later."
She gazed at the towering magic towers in the distance and the soldiers training there, her eyes flashing with a complex light.
...
While Xingsha and the others were contemplating the future, Bai Zhe was also thinking about his own plans.
"I didn't expect these natives to come to us so quickly," Bai Zhe thought to himself. "It seems they've been tortured enough by the star beasts."
Through the divine consciousness attached to the black goat, Bai Zhe already understood Xing Sha and the others' intentions.
He knew this was a golden opportunity to legitimately intervene in the internal affairs of the Star Beast Jungle World.
On the other hand, having been in the Star Beast Jungle World for several months, he has been continuously collecting and analyzing information about the Star Beasts through the divine sense attached to the black goat and the sensory network scattered throughout the battlefield, which resembles nerve tentacles.
After studying the previous battle data and dissecting the giant python star beast's corpse, Bai Zhe finally confirmed an important thing:
These star beasts, after they die, do not respawn after a period of time like monsters in a game. Their information structure is completely destroyed, and some mysterious data stream has been severed.
In other words, once a Star Beast dies, it's truly dead and cannot be resurrected.
This discovery completely put Bai Zhe at ease.
"And," Bai Zhe thought to himself, "these star beasts are essentially native creatures of the Star Beast Jungle World, but they have been contaminated by some kind of high-dimensional information, causing them to become semi-game creatures."
"I don't know what the source of the pollution is, but it's probably something terrifying."
However, his immediate priority is to conquer the entire Star Beast Jungle world as soon as possible, acquire more faith power, and enhance his strength.
Only in this way will he be qualified to explore the so-called source in the future.
"Since the Star Beasts won't resurrect, there's nothing to worry about in this war." Bai Zhe's lips curled up slightly. "Next, we must accelerate the pace of conquest and let the glory of the God of Survival shine upon the entire Star Beast Jungle world!"
He immediately sent a divine message to Bard, the commander of the Holy Terra Empire:
"Increase troop deployment and accelerate the conquest. Within fifty years, eliminate the Star Beasts; within one hundred years, I want to see all humanity in this world become believers of the God of Survival!"
"Yes, my lord!"
Bard said devoutly
