Chapter 86 - Chapter 86

A flash of light filled Akira's vision as the familiar sensation of dimensional travel washed over him. When the brightness faded, he found himself back in his modest apartment room in Kuoh Town, the scent of rain and metal from Amegakure replaced by the clean air of his own world.

"Home sweet home," he muttered, stretching as he looked around his familiar surroundings. The encounter with Pain and Konan had been everything he'd hoped for and more—not just for the incredible battle, but for what he'd accomplished afterward.

Those rewards though...*

The spar with the Hokage and the upcoming Chunin Exams would have to wait. As much as he enjoyed testing his abilities against powerful opponents, there were more pressing matters here. The Khaos Brigade was planning something big, and if his suspicions were correct, Hades himself might make an appearance. That wasn't the kind of threat he could ignore while playing around in other dimensions.

Sitting down on his bed with barely contained excitement, Akira summoned the familiar blue interface of his gacha system. Two rewards materialized before him, each one more tantalizing than the last—a Rank 7 Gacha ticket for his victory over Konan, and a Rank 9 Gacha ticket for defeating Pain and his Six Paths.

His fingers hovered over the higher-ranked ticket, anticipation building in his chest. Rank 9 rewards were rare, and he'd only received a handful since discovering his abilities.

"Let's see what fighting a god gets me," he said, touching the golden ticket.

The interface exploded with light, runes and symbols swirling in complex patterns before settling into readable text.

[ Reward: Viltrumite Physiology *

Akira's breath caught in his throat. Of all the possible rewards, this was beyond his wildest expectations. Viltrumite physiology—the alien genetics that made beings like Omni-Man and Invincible some of the most powerful entities in their respective universe.

The changes began immediately. Every cell in his body started restructuring itself, becoming denser, more efficient, more powerful. His bones became virtually unbreakable, his muscle fibers gained strength that defied conventional physics, and his cardiovascular system evolved to support feats that would shatter normal human limitations.

But it was more than just physical enhancement. Akira could feel his aging process dramatically slowing, his body's natural regenerative abilities increasing exponentially. Most importantly for his current situation, the constant strain that using his Sage's Eye placed on his system began to ease as his enhanced physiology adapted to handle the technique's demands.

This is incredible.*

Unable to contain his excitement, Akira stood and moved around his room, testing his newfound speed. What had once required conscious effort now felt natural—he could move so fast that the world seemed to slow around him, yet maintain perfect control over every step.

Next came strength. He approached his bed—a heavy wooden frame that normally took both hands and considerable effort to move—and lifted it with a single finger. The entire structure rose effortlessly into the air, as light as a feather despite weighing several hundred pounds.

"Definitely worth the trip," he said, gently setting the bed back down before returning to his seated position.

The journey to the shinobi world had exceeded every expectation. Not only had he tested his abilities against some of the most powerful fighters in that dimension, but he'd also gained power that would serve him well in the coming conflicts.

Summoning the interface once more, Akira focused on the remaining Rank 7 ticket. While not as high-tier as the Viltrumite physiology, Rank 7 rewards were still significant, and he was curious to see what defeating an S-rank kunoichi like Konan would grant him.

He touched the silver ticket, watching as it dissolved into points of light.

[ Reward: Summoning Card (Yoruichi Shihōin) *

Akira's eyes widened in genuine surprise. Not just because of who the summon was—though Yoruichi was certainly an interesting and formidable ally to potentially gain—but because this was the first summoning card he'd ever received from the gacha system.

A physical card materialized in his hand, its surface displaying Yoruichi's image with her characteristic confident smile. The artwork was incredibly detailed, showing her in her typical sleeveless outfit, arms crossed and golden eyes gleaming with mischief.

"A summon card, huh?" he mused, studying the card carefully. "Wonder if she'll be her usual playful self or if there's some kind of master-servant dynamic going on."

Before he could second-guess himself, a notification appeared.

[ Query Detected: Summon Personality Retention *

[ Answer: Summons retain their original personalities and memories. Bond development between summoner and summon occurs naturally. Upon card activation, a bond mark will appear on both parties' hands. *

"Bond mark?" Akira asked aloud.

[ Bond Mark Function: Prevents summon from causing intentional harm to summoner. Mark intensity and color correlate with relationship strength. Stronger bonds result in brighter, deeper coloration. *

That made sense from a safety perspective, though Akira found himself hoping it wouldn't interfere with natural relationship development. The last thing he wanted was allies who only cooperated because of magical compulsion.

Another question occurred to him. "Will she know she's being summoned?"

[ Answer: Yes. Summons receive notification and must accept summoning request. *

Akira sighed. That was going to make explanations complicated, especially if he ended up summoning more people in the future. How exactly did you explain to someone that they'd been pulled from their reality to serve as your ally because you'd won them in what was essentially a cosmic lottery?

Well, might as well get this over with.*

He held up Yoruichi's card, channeling his intent to activate it. The card burst into brilliant light, temporarily blinding him as magical energy filled the room.

When his vision cleared, a small black cat sat in the middle of his floor, golden eyes staring at him with unmistakable intelligence.

The silence stretched between them for several long moments, human and cat studying each other with equal intensity.

"Well," Akira said finally, "this isn't quite how I expected this meeting to go."

The cat's mouth opened, and a distinctly male voice emerged. "Who are you, and what is this place?"

Akira blinked. He'd forgotten about Yoruichi's tendency to disguise her voice while in cat form. "I'm Akira," he said, holding up his hand to display the bond mark that had appeared on his palm—a small, glowing symbol that resembled overlapping circles. "I'm the one who summoned you here."

The cat's eyes widened. "Summoned?" The voice cracked slightly with disbelief.

Akira nodded, then pointed to one of the cat's front paws. "You should have a matching mark somewhere. Didn't you know about this whole arrangement?"

The cat looked down, noticing the faint glow emanating from beneath her fur. When she looked back up, her expression was stunned. "It can't be true. The notification I saw on that blue screen... that wasn't one of Urahara's tricks?"

"Urahara?" Akira repeated, genuinely confused by what that man had to do with all this.

Yoruichi's golden eyes narrowed as she studied his face, apparently reading his genuine lack of recognition. "What did you do to me? What is this place?"

Akira scratched the back of his head, recognizing that this conversation was going to be more complicated than he'd hoped. "You seem pretty disoriented. Let me explain what I know."

He proceeded to detail everything the system had told him about summoning cards, bond marks, and how the process worked. With each piece of information, the cat's posture grew more serious, more alert.

"How far are we from Karakura Town?" she asked when he finished.

"There's no place called Karakura Town," Akira replied gently.

"We're in Japan though, right?" There was a note of desperation in her voice now.

"We are." Akira pulled out his phone, showing her a map of their current location. "But look—no Karakura Town anywhere in the country."

The cat stared at the screen for a long moment, then looked back at him with something approaching panic. "The blue screen message you mentioned... what exactly did it say?"

Akira hesitated. Explaining the full truth about the gacha system would only complicate things further, especially if he ended up summoning more people in the future. Instead, he decided on a simplified version.

"I have a power that grants me rewards when I defeat strong opponents," he said carefully. "These rewards can be new abilities, weapons, or in this case, summoning cards. I got yours after fighting someone very powerful."

The cat frowned—an odd expression on a feline face. "That would be hard to believe under normal circumstances, but given everything else..." She paused, seeming to gather herself. "Is there a way to undo the summon? To send me back where I came from?"

"Not that I know of," Akira admitted, watching her ears flatten against her head in frustration. "But," he continued quickly, "if I'm right about how this power works, I might eventually be able to travel to your world. I just came back from a dimension full of ninjas, so there's precedent for accessing different realities."

The cat's ears perked up with interest. "What kind of world is this?"

Akira gave her a quick rundown—devils, angels, fallen angels, dragons, gods, and the various supernatural factions that operated in the shadows of human society. He concluded with his current situation.

"Tomorrow I'm potentially going up against a terrorist organization and possibly Hades himself, along with his army of grim reapers."

The cat nodded slowly. "So you summoned me because you need help with this fight."

"Actually," Akira said with a slightly embarrassed grin, "it was mostly curiosity. You're the first summon card I've ever gotten, and I wanted to see how the system worked."

If looks could kill, the glare from those golden eyes would have reduced him to ash on the spot. "You're telling me I'm here because you were *curious*? And there's maybe a one percent chance I'll ever get home?"

"Hey, in my defense—" Akira raised his hands placatingly.

"In your defense, *what*?" she growled.

"Why did you accept the summon in the first place?"

The cat's anger deflated slightly, replaced by what looked like embarrassment. "The notification kept appearing, saying that if I accepted, I'd get unlimited access to premium milk." She looked away, muttering "Damn you, Urahara"

Despite the tension of the situation, Akira couldn't help but smile. Even displaced across dimensions, Yoruichi's personality was shining through perfectly.

"Look," he said gently, "I know this is a lot to process, and I'm sorry you got dragged into my mess. But since we're both stuck with this situation for now, maybe we can—"

His words were cut off as the small black cat was suddenly enveloped in a swirl of spiritual energy. The transformation was instantaneous and dramatic—one moment there was a cat, the next moment there was a woman.

And she was completely naked.

Yoruichi Shihōin stood in the middle of his room in all her glory—dark skin gleaming in the lamplight, long purple hair cascading over her shoulders, and that same confident smile he'd seen on the summoning card. Her golden eyes sparkled with amusement as she watched his reaction.

Akira felt his enhanced Viltrumite physiology react in ways that had nothing to do with combat readiness, but he managed to keep his expression relatively composed. Months of dealing with supernatural entities and life-or-death situations had given him considerable self-control, even in circumstances like this.

"Interesting," Yoruichi said, her voice now distinctly feminine and carrying a note of genuine surprise. "You're the first person who hasn't immediately turned red and started stammering."

She began walking toward him with that predatory grace he remembered from the anime, each step deliberate and confident. Akira found himself calling on every ounce of his self-discipline to maintain eye contact and keep his breathing steady.

"I've seen a lot of things," he managed, proud that his voice remained level. "Takes more than a beautiful woman to throw me off balance."

Yoruichi's smile widened as she came to a stop directly in front of him. Without warning, she reached out and traced one finger along his cheek, her touch sending electricity through his enhanced nervous system.

"Well then," she purred, "how about you get me some milk and food? It seems we have quite a lot to discuss about our journey from here on out."

Akira nodded, grateful for the excuse to step away and collect himself. As he headed toward his kitchen, he could feel her golden eyes following his every movement.

This is going to be interesting* he thought, taking in the sight in its full glory.
