Chapter 50 - Your Kaiju Are Too Small:-Chapter 50: What Happened to Three Minutes!?

In midair, the giant's gaze shifted slightly, tracking the super Kaiju's movements.

As if he didn't care about its actions at all.

Then—

Under Yoki's bewildered stare, the giant... started spinning.

Like a windmill, completely ignoring gravity and other fundamental forces, he spun in a way normal thinking couldn't comprehend. It looked utterly alien, as if the giant existed in a completely different conceptual space.

Soon, the windmill-spinning giant moved.

The beast still ran through the ruins at unimaginable speed. But something even more unimaginable happened a second later—that crimson windmill appeared before him at several times the speed of sound!

Yoki didn't even have time to react!

"BOOM!"

Tremendous kinetic force struck. The massive body was hit by the windmill—the giant's legs kicking into him—launching the huge frame like a cannonball, sending it flying wildly in one direction.

"Gah...!"

Inside the super Kaiju, Yoki's consciousness blurred.

Right now, he just wanted to curse.

Where the hell did this Ultraman even come from!?

Are these the stats this version is supposed to have!?

Why!?

Is anyone managing these smurfs!?

His attacks couldn't even break the defense, while the enemy's strikes were all lethal. If this isn't cheating, what is!?

He controlled the beast's body, slowly rising from the ruins.

Still... ten seconds... the final ten seconds.

He had to survive these last ten seconds.

But two of the body's three secondary brains were already destroyed. How could he possibly stall for these final ten seconds?

While thinking—

His gaze suddenly caught sight of a familiar Jaeger. Striker Eureka. The two pilots were currently fiddling with something in the cockpit.

An opportunity!

Yoki's eyes lit up instantly. He'd found his final chance!

"ROOOOOAR!"

Without hesitation, he controlled the beast and sprinted toward the two Jaegers. The distance between them wasn't far.

"Shit!"

"It's coming!" Chuck Hansen saw the massive Kaiju charging toward them and his heart jumped.

They'd barely taken a few steps in their Jaeger before it caught up.

It grabbed them in one hand.

"What's it doing!?" Herc Hansen stared at the grotesque face right in front of him and reached for the control panel.

After seizing Striker Eureka, Yoki immediately hoisted it up, holding it toward the giant.

"ROOOOOAR!"

The beast roared. The gesture seemed to say: I've got a hostage—back off.

In his understanding, Ultraman would never attack a hostage along with the enemy.

This was the best way to stall for time.

He wasn't wrong. Ultraman truly wouldn't harm innocents. The giant had already stopped moving, hovering in midair.

Seeing this, Yoki's heart soared with joy.

These ten seconds—I win!

But the instant he had that thought—

"This damn thing's trying to use us as hostages!"

"You sour radish, don't even try!"

"No way in hell!" Chuck Hansen glared, furious, making the same decision as his father.

He slammed his fist down on the control panel. The nuke detonation button.

Want to use us as hostages? Taste this!

The nuke instantly entered detonation sequence. Ten-second countdown.

Striker Eureka's cockpit suddenly opened. Two emergency escape pods ejected. They didn't know if ten seconds was enough to escape the blast radius, but they knew one thing—they would never be hostages!

Seeing the hostages escape, Yoki's first reaction was to grab them.

But the body, having lost two secondary brains, wasn't that agile anymore. He missed. These escape pods were far smaller than the Jaeger.

The nuke on Striker Eureka's back blazed with blinding light.

Yoki realized what was about to happen.

He hurled the Jaeger away and raised his arms to shield himself.

"BOOOOM!"

Nuclear fire erupted fully. A sky-shattering sound accompanied the world-ending shockwave spreading outward.

The two escape pods were still too slow. They couldn't outrun the nuclear explosion.

But in the pilots' view, they saw a massive figure blocking their path, hands seemingly holding up a translucent barrier.

The two men, who thought they'd meet Death himself, once again felt the hope of life.

This nuke flattened everything nearby. In this blast, only the giant remained unmoved.

Soon, the nuclear fire faded.

"Huff... huff..."

The Category VI Kaiju's body was far tougher than ordinary monsters. One nuke wasn't enough to kill it. Though its body was severely damaged, it still clung to life.

Yoki stubbornly held onto consciousness.

He controlled the massive body, trying to rise.

"Three minutes... three minutes... hahaha."

"Three minutes are up!"

He lifted his gaze upward, wanting to see that powerful giant reduced to a weak human, wanting to see his pathetic state.

This battle—though the process was rough—he'd still laughed last!

But when he fully raised his head—

His vision focused on midair, and he froze completely.

The giant still stood in the sky. His expression hadn't changed at all. Even the crystal on his chest... was still shining that dazzling blue!

Why the hell!?

Yoki's mentality completely collapsed.

What happened to Ultraman only being able to move for three minutes!?

Three minutes passed—why is the light still on!?

Is this right!?

Is this reasonable!?

Even Tiga could only move for three minutes!

It was true that Ultraman could only move for three minutes in extreme environments like Earth.

But the problem was—this wasn't Earth.

Natsuki had originally thought the space beyond the Breach would also be Earth-like, with the three-minute activity limit.

But he hadn't expected the Precursors' base to be an invaded, dead planet. The environment here might be more extreme for humans, but for Ultraman? This environment was nothing.

I'm not on Earth. Who cares about three minutes!

"No..."

"How can this be..." Yoki watched the giant slowly raise his arm. His mentality collapsed again and again.

He tried to retreat. But—

"HUMMM!"

A Spacium Beam already engulfed his body. Nothing remained.

The super Kaiju destroyed, their only countermeasure gone.

Yoki's true body stretched out an arm from a large pile of rubble, struggling to crawl out.

He looked at the space, now destroyed beyond recognition, and defeat welled up in his heart.

He'd failed.

"No... I have to tell Quek what happened here. Ultraman is too strong."

"This mission isn't over yet. There's still a chance..."

Four Travelers had come to this world. With the two of them forming an alliance, they were guaranteed a perfect result. Now Ultraman's appearance had disrupted their plans. They could only settle for second best.

They didn't know this Ultraman was a hunter specifically tracking them.

At the same time, this operation inside the Breach hadn't been made public. The world didn't know Ultraman existed. The UN was still pushing the unmanned Jaeger program.

What came next was the real hunt!

"Ultraman... I'll remember you." Yoki stared at the giant from afar, preparing to retreat.

But with just that one glance—

He happened to see the giant turn his gaze this way.

"!!!"
