Chapter 8. Otherworlder species.

Looking at his Status Card, he couldn't believe the effects of it. He couldn't help but giggle at the sight of it.
Although the side effect of losing one point each time he leveled up seemed bad at first, if you think about it, it doesn't.
For each level he increases, he will lose 1 point. For example, if his strength and agility increase by 3 points with each level, this skill will take away 1 point from either of those stats.
As a result, he will only increase his strength and agility stats by 2 points each level.
But the actual effects of it are amazing. All his skills will have a 2+ usage on them. Since the [3 skills] can only have 3 usages, they will now have 5 in total for Jake.
The reduction in both negative effects and skill proficiency is immense. He only has to do half the requirements to level up his skills in the future.
And if he receives a negative effect status on his movement speed by 20%, that will only be 10%.
Finally, the last one: increased regeneration ability by 50%. If Jake's mana regeneration is only 50 points per hour, the skill will give an additional 25 points to it.
The skill he chose was undoubtedly a powerful one. Something that would carry him for as long as he lived.
And its effects were outright overpowered, even if it didn't level up.
Continuing his way towards the west gate of the town, he paused for a moment and remembered something about himself.
"Am I gonna be… alright??" Jake has this condition with his luck, where he becomes the luckiest person in the world for a day.
Then within that same day or month, he faces the worst thing that could happen to one.
"Shit! What happened to me last year again?" Recalling his lucky day last year.
"Right, I found a stash of money within the school walls, then later that same day, I got hit by a truck…"
Remembering the event of last year, he realized something bad was about to happen this day, and if not today, within the entire month.
This time, it was much worse than anything that had happened to him, especially with the idea of magic existing in the world he is in now.
"Haha." Letting out a small laugh, he wondered if finding those Divine item Spheres was worth the risk he was about to face.
Still, with the herbs he collected, he knew he needed to exchange them first before worrying about this misfortune he was about to face.

Once he got to the west side of the town, he quickly entered the shop where people sold their collected herbs.
But once he said he was there to sell the herbs he had, he was quickly rejected by the store owner and kicked out of the store.
Thinking that the owner of that store just didn't like him, he decided to go to another one to sell them, but all the stores quickly kicked him out and rejected him.
Now back to the present time, Jake wondered what he would do with these herbs he had. By the reactions of Roth and Allen, the herbs he had right now were all of good quality and even rare.
But their being rare didn't matter if he could not sell them. Not like he had the ability to turn them into the potions and pills they could be.
"Damn it. You're telling me my efforts in finding all of these herbs will turn to nothing because some bitch-ass store owners won't buy them!"
Jake cursed those store owners for not exchanging them; the least they could have done was tell him why they rejected him. Yet, not one of them said a word and only kicked him out.
Left with nothing but hate for them, Jake started sulking, muttering curse words over and over in one of the alleys.
At the same moment when Jake was sulking in one of the alleys, a bunch of newly adult adventurers found him. These people were part of the group, the ones in front of Jake the day of baptism.
Unlike him, who couldn't move forward back then with the endless jumps of events, these people applied as adventurers after the priest's lecture ended.
And now, seeing the last person to get to the baptism event sulking on the side, they wondered what made him like this.
"Should we go towards him?" The leader of the group, named Hans, asked the other four members. Seeing them nod, he took the first step towards Jake to ask him what made him like this.
"I hope every single one of you gets a full body cramp for ten hours a day…" Jake was muttering those words as Hans got closer to him.
Hearing these curses, he wondered if this was worth the risk. Glancing over to Jake's hands, he found a rope made of vines with herbs tied to it.
"Wait! Are you having trouble selling those?" Hans asked, pointing at Jake's hand.
Looking up, Jake found a person from one of the groups on the day of baptism before him. Seeing how the topic of conversation started with herbs, he answered:
"That's right. I was gonna sell these to those stores. But the moment I said it, they just kicked me out…"
"I see. Then you should sell them to the adventurer guild," Hans replied, scratching the back of his head, unable to move the conversation further.
Seeing their leader unable to continue the conversation, the four members of the group stepped forward to do the talking for him.
Watching the rest of the group move toward them, Jake could not help but admire the group's uniqueness. "Elf, Lizard man, Harpy, and two humans."
He muttered, exchanging glances with them. Seeing how the expressions of the two humans in the group changed, Jake continued:
"You two seem like normal people at first, but if I look closer, there are some traits of you two being half only."
"How can you be so sure about that… hmmm?" The female human asked, her voice carrying a mocking tone.
"Easy, because you technically admitted being one with that question of yours." Before the female human could even change her expression, Jake continued.
"Also, out of the five, the two of you give off this radiant energy." He couldn't explain what the energy was about the two, so he only continued on.
"I may be wrong, but… you!" He pointed at Hans. "You're a half-dragon, right? And that woman of yours there is half spirit."
Hans and the group could never have imagined someone uncovering the secret of the two right this fast.
Even for people who are considered to have good insight, no one has ever figured out the secret of the two this fast.
"Amazing. Well then, let me introduce myself to you," the woman said to Jake. "What you said just now is correct; I'm a half spirit, and Hans here is a half dragon. You already know his name, so I'll tell you mine now."
'Damn, this woman drags her words,' Jake thought inwardly.
"My name is Carnelian." This time her words were short, and through her quick introduction, the others did theirs too.
"Name: Oak," the elf said, creating a tiny flower in his hand.
"Peak," the Harpy then introduced himself.
Jake then looked at the last member, who hadn't introduced himself.q
