System Interface – Form Selection
Fu Hua scrolled through the system's form selection menu.
[Shadow Knight — Moon Blade]
Godkiller Armor Form
Cost: 5,000,000 Energy
[White Night Deacon]
Ether-Infused Combat Form
Cost: 500,000 Energy
"White Night Deacon doesn't have many active abilities… but it's infused with Imaginary Energy. That's still a decent boost."
"I don't need overwhelming power right now. White Night Deacon will do."
She confirmed the transformation and then swiped over to the system's roulette interface.
"Ten thousand Denny per pull… Honestly, I'm not the type to gamble, that last time was just a fluke."
"Let's prove it."
She couldn't resist. With a sigh, she dumped all 50,000 Denny into five pulls.
Draw 1–4:
'Thank you for your patronage.'
'Thank you for your patronage.'
'Thank you for your patronage.'
'Thank you for your patronage.'
Fu Hua's expression darkened. Her knuckles cracked.
"I don't believe this…"
Draw 5:
Congratulations! You've received: Papaya Milk
Papaya Milk — 'Drink regularly for unexpected results~'
She stared at the bottle in her hand.
"Papaya milk… unexpected results… I'm saved."
Without hesitation, she popped the cap and chugged it.
Then she glanced at her now-empty wallet.
"No more Dennies. Guess it's time to check for commissions."
After scrolling for a while, she found one that caught her eye:
Mission: Retrieve lost documents from a Hollow-adjacent zone
Location: Near Hollow Zero
Reward: 800,000 Denny
"Eighty pulls' worth… Focus, Fu Hua. Don't let the gacha cloud your judgment."
She took a breath, selected the White Night Deacon form, and accepted the mission.
At the rendezvous point, Fu Hua spotted her client:
A golden retriever in a sharp suit and fedora, scrolling through his phone.
She approached.
The dog looked up, blinking.
"You're… the one who took the job?"
"Correct."
"Kid, that Hollow's near Zone Zero. It's dangerous. You should turn back before you get hurt."
"I'm serious."
"So am I. That file's important to us. Please reconsider—"
Before he could finish, Fu Hua stepped to the side, turned, and drove her fist into the warehouse wall behind him.
"Inch Fist: Skybreaker."
A thunderous boom echoed. Dust and debris flew.
The client flinched as the shockwave slapped his cheek.
He turned around—
The entire warehouse wall had collapsed into rubble.
"So… can I take the job now?"
"Y-Yes! Absolutely! Haha… Miss, you're incredibly capable."
He handed her a folder.
"Here are the mission specs. This suitcase contains the tracking data. And I've prepared a radish, too. I'll send it over later."
"Understood. Where's the drop-off?"
"Right here. Three days max, alright?"
"No problem. I'll get it done. And you are?"
"Haha, just call me Shepherd."
