Am I excited?

Because today is mine and Keifer's wedding.
I didn't realize how fast time changed.
From enemies to lovers.
From strangers to best friends.
From best friends to parents.

From lovers to husband and wife.
I hope our married life will always be filled with happiness.
I was in my bridal room while a few makeup artists were doing my makeup and hair.
Jeenie was sitting on the couch, staring at me.
"My Mama is so beautiful," she said.

She giggled.

Before I could stop her, she ran out of the room.
A few minutes later, the door opened.
Mama and Tita walked in.

The priest smiled warmly.
"May we now have the rings."
Keifer gently slid the ring onto my finger.
"With this ring, I give you my heart."
I smiled before placing his ring on his finger.
"And with this ring, I promise to love you forever."
Next came the Filipino wedding traditions.
Our sponsors placed the veil over our shoulders.
Then they wrapped the ceremonial cord around us in a figure eight, symbolizing our unending love.
After that, Keifer placed the thirteen arrhae coins into my hands.
"I promise to provide for our family and share everything I have with you."
I smiled.
"And I promise to build our home with love, trust, and respect."
The priest looked at both of us with a smile.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife."
The church erupted into applause.
"You may now kiss your bride."
Keifer gently cupped my face before pressing a soft kiss against my lips.
Everyone cheered.
We turned around to face our family and friends.
For the first time...
Not as enemies.
Not as lovers.
But as husband and wife.
After taking pictures with everyone outside the church, we finally headed to the reception.
The ballroom was beautifully decorated with white roses, fairy lights, and elegant chandeliers.
A huge crystal chandelier hung in the center while soft music filled the hall.
Keifer and I stood outside the entrance.
The host smiled brightly.
"Let's welcome our newlyweds... Mr. and Mrs. Watson!"
The doors opened.
Everyone stood up, clapping and cheering as we walked hand in hand toward the stage.
I couldn't stop smiling.
After we reached our table, dinner was served.
Everyone chatted happily while enjoying the food.
Once dinner ended, the host picked up the microphone.
"Now it's time for a few words from the people closest to our newlyweds."
The first person to walk onto the stage was Kerin.
He looked at Keifer before letting out a sigh.
"Kuya..."
The whole hall became quiet.

"I honestly thought you were gay."
The guests immediately burst into laughter.
Kerin shrugged.
"I mean... you never brought any girl home."
More laughter echoed throughout the ballroom.
"You were always with your friends, always busy, and never showed any interest in dating."
He pointed at Keifer.

Everyone laughed even louder.
"Because you're finally married."
Even Keifer couldn't stop laughing as he covered his face.
Kerin smiled before looking at me.

"Thank you for making my Kuya happy."
"He smiles more."
"He laughs more."
"And... he's finally acting like a normal person."
The whole hall burst into laughter again.
Kerin walked over and hugged Keifer.
"Congratulations, Kuya."
Then he hugged me.
"Welcome to the family, Ate."
The hall filled with applause.
Keifer shook his head.
"I'm definitely getting my revenge later."
Kerin laughed.
"I'll be waiting, Kuya."
Everyone laughed.
After everyone's speeches, the host returned to the stage.
"And now... let's invite our newlyweds for their first dance as husband and wife."
Keifer turned toward me and held out his hand.
"May I have this dance, Mrs. Watson?"
I smiled as I placed my hand in his.
"Always."
As the music began to play, he wrapped one arm around my waist while I rested my hand on his shoulder.
We slowly swayed together in the middle of the dance floor.
Everyone watched with warm smiles, clapping softly as we shared our very first dance as husband and wife.
