It took a couple of hours for her to completely calm down. The Viscount had disrespected her far too much, and she would not continue to take it.
She needed to put him in his place.
Swallowing, she lay flat on the bed, staring at the ceiling. It was past midnight, and she was far from falling asleep.
Her mind was filled with a million swirling thoughts, consuming her entirely.
At times, she wondered what the gods' plans were for her because, as it was, she was nothing but confused. And she hated this feeling of confusion.
It angered her that she was yet to find answers to her questions. Her family, the massacre, the Viscount. They all lingered deep within her mind.
And the Viscount.
Thinking of him alone caused her heart to race and anger to consume her. Yet, deep beneath that anger was the undeniable attraction she felt for him.
It was subtle, but enough for her to notice.
