When masters spar, one can tell true skill at a glance. Saitō Furōfushi pushed off the ground, shattering the earth, and charged at high speed, gripping his sword with both hands and bringing it down on Unohana's head. Saitō possessed standard Captain-level strength. In all of Soul Society, fewer than ten could easily block this, and Unohana was clearly one of them.
Unohana shifted slightly, dodging the slash. The sword struck the ground, causing it to crack and dirt to fly!
Saitō Furōfushi grabbed a handful of sand and threw it at Unohana's eyes.
Unohana raised her left sleeve to block. Saitō Furōfushi laughed, "Where did this young lady come from?! Afraid of getting dirty in a fight!"
In that instant, Unohana couldn't see Saitō's movements. As a seasoned master, Saitō wouldn't miss this chance and swung her sword.
Blood splattered, but Unohana stood perfectly still, her gaze unwavering.
Saitō Furōfushi retreated with a grim expression, blood flowing from her left arm.
The moment she attacked, Unohana's sword had pierced through her own sleeve, striking Saitō through the fabric.
"Your strength is great, speed fast, but your swordsmanship has too many flaws. Retreat, you are no match for me," Unohana said calmly. "Call the strongest."
Saitō Furōfushi had a fiery temper and disliked being lectured. Having lost a move put her in a bad mood, and this woman's rambling was annoying. Saitō roared and charged faster, her sword flashing like lightning. But no matter how sharp, Unohana easily dodged.
"Your attacks are too direct. If your strength is superior, no worry, but if your opponent's strength is equal or greater, you are at a disadvantage," Unohana taught tirelessly.
"Aren't you annoying!" Saitō's temper grew, her sword faster, but the flaws also grew.
Suddenly, Unohana's sword seemed to vanish. Saitō was stunned. In this life-or-death moment, why had the sword disappeared?
"Watch out!!!" Kinroku Izuhara roared.
Saitō hadn't reacted when a sharp pain shot through her left ribs. She looked down to see the opponent's sword had pierced her.
How could this be...?
Attacking from a blind spot? Saitō instantly understood. The opponent's sword hadn't vanished; the angle was in her visual blind spot. The limit of human vision is 180 degrees, but when focused on one point, it's less, giving the opponent an opportunity.
Saitō swung her sword fiercely, forcing the enemy back, and quickly retreated with Shunpo. As Unohana pursued, Kinroku Izuhara stepped in.
"I've experienced the hot-headed kid's swordplay. How about mine?" Kinroku Izuhara radiated an eerie aura.
"Oh? Another master! Not bad." Unohana turned to face him.
Saitō Furōfushi quickly wrapped her wound. Fortunately, it wasn't deep. "Uncle, teach her a lesson. This woman is infuriating!"
Kinroku Izuhara asked in a deep voice, "Before we fight, your name? I am Kinroku Izuhara, Provisional Captain of the Gotei 13."
Unohana's face broke into a gentle smile, like sunlight. If he hadn't seen it, Kinroku Izuhara would never believe a woman who treated killing like eating could smile so sunnily. "You can call me Unohana."
Kinroku Izuhara's expression changed. "Could you be the famous Sword of Death, Yachiru Unohana?"
Note: "Yachiru" was not Unohana's original name, but a title she bestowed upon herself after claiming to have mastered all sword styles.
"Yes, that's me!" Unohana's gentle smile transformed into a sinister coldness.
Is this woman schizophrenic? Kinroku Izuhara muttered.
Both watched each other cautiously. The next second, it started to rain.
This wasn't ordinary rain, but a sword rain condensed from "swords." Kinroku Izuhara's swords poured down like a torrent, covering all directions. Unohana was slightly shaken.
"Such fast swords!" Unohana said in surprise. "However, I can also do this!"
Instantly, Unohana's sword transformed into a dense rain. The two swords clashed like violent storms, creating countless sparks.
The sound was like raindrops. Amidst the sword light, their figures vanished.
"Clang!!!!"
A loud clang broke the "rain sound." Kinroku Izuhara retreated. During the clash, Unohana changed her style, switching to breaking skill with force. She exerted power with both hands, forcing him back.
"This woman has so much strength!" Kinroku Izuhara's sword trembled. Before he could catch his breath, Unohana attacked again. Kinroku Izuhara flipped his left hand, and a fifty-centimeter iron spike appeared. He gathered power and thrust it at Unohana.
Unohana twisted, dodging the attack, and kicked Kinroku Izuhara in the chest.
"Bang!"
Kinroku Izuhara crashed through two walls. Although not injured, his bones creaked!
Unohana charged mercilessly, delivering an overhead slash. Kinroku Izuhara didn't know if he could block it but raised his sword to resist.
"Clang!!!"
A small figure stood in front of him; Saitō Furōfushi had blocked the fatal blow.
"Uncle, though I don't want to admit it, neither of us can defeat her alone. Let's team up!" Saitō said coldly.
There's no other way but to use my ultimate move.
"Bakudo #21, Crimson Smoke Escape!"
After deploying a smoke screen, Yamabuki quickly retreated to a safe spot, pressing both hands to the ground.
"Hado #99, Goryutenmetsu!"
